NEWS  FROM  THE  PARISH  ADVISORY  BOARD

Dear Fellow Parishioners of Our Lady of Mount Carmel,

In our November 20th bulletin we introduced you to the members of the new Parish Advisory Board, which was formed in the spirit of Vatican II. Our mission is to assist Fr. Dan with the pastoral care of the parish and the fostering of pastoral activity. Each member of this board is fully committed to giving of their time and talents to ensure that our parish is meeting the needs of the faithful community it serves and represents. As Catholics, we should always strive to reach out beyond the walls of our beautiful church to do what our faith calls upon us to do: to serve and care for others. Despite having had just a few meetings, we have hit the ground running.

I have been humbled to be named Board Chairman and in that capacity my primary goal is to make this board accessible to all of our parishioners because we are YOUR board. I believe it is imperative that we hear your concerns, comments and suggestions so that we can make decisions that reflect who we are as a parish family. As in any large organization, every suggestion or idea may not be practically implemented, but I assure you that your thoughts will be heard and given serious consideration. I encourage you to approach any of us to discuss the things that matter to you when you see us at Mass or wherever we might meet each other.

That said, I am providing you with a list of the board members’ email addresses or phone number so you have another avenue with which to contact us. I hope that you will assist us by bringing your concerns and ideas to us so that in turn, we can move our parish forward doing the work we are called to do. Feel free to email me or any board member using the information below.

On behalf of the Advisory Board, I wish you all the blessings of the Christmas season and I sincerely hope you will assist us in our journey on the board.

In honor of St. Thérèse of Lisieux’s “Christmas conversion” we’ve added a spiritual component to our Giving Tree. Please take a moment to lift up in prayer the children for whom you are purchasing gifts. St. Therese, beloved friend, please accept these petitions, hopes, needs, and dreams on behalf of [child name(s)]. Please present them to our Loving Father so that God may do what is best for them. We ask you, dear Friend, with the bold confidence and loving surrender you taught us. We make this prayerful petition in the name of Jesus and through the power of His Spirit.

Share it on social media using: #ChristmasConversion or #PropheticContemplation

Please return gifts to the church wrapped and with the original gift tag taped to the outside of the package. Gifts are due next weekend, December 10th and 11th. Thank you for your generosity!
