    The Church Courier

    Never say everything you know

Neither do more than you can...

Nor believe everything that you hear...

Nor spend everything that you have,

    Because

The one that says everything they know

The one that does more than they can The one that believes everything they hear

And the one that spends more than they have,

    Quite often...

    Say more than they should,

    Do what they should not...

Judges what they do not see...

    And spends what they cannot.

The apostle Peter experienced somegreat things in His walk with Je-

sus. But he also failed at times.Remember when he denied theLord three times just before the

    crucifixion? (Matt. 26:69-75)

But his failures didnt ruin him or disqualify him from future ministry!

Jesus confronted Peter about his unfaithfulness and lack of love. But Peter affirmed his love for Jesus three times. And Jesus didnt give up on Peter. In fact, He reassuredhim that he was still an apostle and commanded him toexercise faith and obedience and to follow Him.

What about us? Have we fallen down in our walk with

the Lord? Is our witness for Him weak? Do we overlook opportunities to share Him and His love with others?Whatever the situation, we have a perfect opportunity toshare the truth of His word during Evangelistic meet-ings going on Now with Elder Lester Pratt as our guestspeaker.

Let your light shine! Invite your relatives and friends tocome and taste for themselves! Remember, like Peter,we have made our share of mistakes, but the Lord doesntgive up on us! We have another chance to prove our lovefor Him by sharing Him through the spoken Word.

Yours for bringing others to Jesus, Pastor and SharonWebb.

A FEW MORE FINANCIAL TIPSFROM THE BIBLE

    By Gary D. Grimes

MISNOMER! What in the world is a misnomer? It is a name or termused wrongly. It is a misnomer when I say, I pay tithe to God. Wedo not pay tithe to God. We return tithe to God because God ownseverything including us. We return it because He has asked us toreturn it. How could we pay God? Is God our employee? Do wepay Him for working for us? NO! God owns us! First, He owns us

because He created us. Second, He owns us because He redeemed us.Creation and redemption show Gods great love for us. Returning titheis our love response to God. Mal. 3:8-11; Psalms 50:10-12.

Giving offerings work the same way. We give them back to God whoowns everything including us. All offerings should be given out of love for God. He created us out of love. He redeemed us out of love.Ps. 96:8.

We are managers rather than owners since God owns everything in-cluding us. It is a serious responsibility to be Gods manager. He re-quires us to use it and invest it wisely and profitably. Two places wecan invest our managed funds are returning our tithe and giving our offerings. Some have called giving to the Bank of Heaven. All depos-its are 100 insured. No one has ever lost a penny in the Bank of Heaven. A high rate of soul winning is guaranteed. Matthew 25.

Watch the small things. Gather up the leftovers. Be frugal! John 6:12.Turn off electrical appliances when not use. That would be lights, TVsand computers. Drive the speed limit in town. Drive 5 mph under speed limit on highways, toll roads and interstates. It safer too! Dur-ing the winter set your thermostat.

More tips: Cut all credit cards! Use cash or debit cards for purchases. On major purchases get at least three bids. Comparison shopping to a

point can produce rich dividends. Buy the best quality you can afford.Pay bills immediately! Cant pay call your creditor and make arrange-ments. Make your goal to live debt free!

Fundamentally we all know that weare born and once that happens, weare on the pathway to death. Somesooner and some later but, ever onward toward our passing. Harshwords but its a harsh reality. Be-liever or non-believer, we all havethat one thing in common.

I begin this way be-cause it occurred tome as I was drift-ing off to sleeplast night, thatwe take our lives

pretty much for granted. We expectto wake up, meander

through our days however we eachspend them, work, TV, a good

    book, and retire to bed.

But is that all there is? Believers, of course, know that after this life wehave been granted the greatest giftof all our salvation. All we needdo is ask the Lord into our lives andlive as He would have us live.Praise God!

We also know that the gift of theAlmightys salvation, granted byHis huge sacrifice, can be lost or,like any gift, misplaced. But that isnot what this is about. I just put that

in to remind you and me that weneed to be diligent and faithful toGod each and every day of our lives.

The reason Im writing this is be-cause I failed in my Christian dutyand, saddest of all I only realizedthis by Gods grace last night.

My son, Joey, as some of youknow, was murdered in July of thisyear. Now you also know, most of

you anyway, that I became aChristian pretty recently.

In fact my path to-ward God was aspecial, blessedroad that He ledme on. But that is

    also not what this isabout.

About my son Id handed inmany prayer requests and pleadedfor Joey and his family daily. My

prayers went unheeded, or didthey? The prayers to have him real-ize the errors of his life perhaps,

but I find solace in thinking he isnow at rest, at peace, out of hismisery. My ever-nagging pleahelp him to the Lord was actuallyanswered albeit not in the way I

    planned, hoped, expected.

I was blessed last year with Godsrevelation to me as I slept. He letme examine my motherhood and Iawoke realizing that until the time

my son began his drug usage, hethought I was the most incrediblywonderful mom in the world.

    ..continue from previous page

On a night in July 2007, Godgranted me peace. After more thantwenty years of feeling guilty andsad over my deficiencies in themothering category, I got over it

just like that! My battles werentover on all fronts but that one wasfinally at rest for me.

Just weeks before he was murderedI mentioned that it would be good

for him to read some specific pas-sages in the Bible. He said hedidnt have a Bible.

I offered to send him up his own personal Bible. Assuming I had plenty of time to wiggle Christian-ity into his life, I sent up the DVDand the Bible with a short and lov-ing dedication on the inside cover, much like the dedication in my firstBible from Gary and JuanitaGrimes.

But I didnt tell him Jesus lovesyou! I cry now as I write this. Atthe time I thought Id push himaway, that I had plenty of time tohelp him see. How wrong I was!Jesus loves you, Joey ! Such ashort sentence with abundant truthand love in it and I didnt say it. I

just didnt think hed be gone inthat heartbeat between receivingthe Bible and his murder two weekslater.

Am I crying for him? I am! I amcrying for my failure too. Dontfeel badly and end up crying over failing yourselves. Life is too short.Be a bit more assertive. Say thewords! Jesus loves you ! Saythem to whoever needs to hear them! Jesus love you!

Its those three words that miraclesare made of.
