Hashem’s care is always hereA certain camp, like many others had an old vehicle which they used for maintenance in the camp. The vehicle was definitely not in the best condition but it served its purpose and thus the administration was happy with the state of things.

The vehicle was generally parked on top of a hill just across the playground where the swings were located. One day, the vehicle suddenly gave a start and commenced rolling down the hill as if it had a mind of its own. There was no time to stop the vehicle as it headed directly to the playground where all the kids were in midst of playing. The kids heard a sharp beep, looked and saw that the vehicle was coming straight at them. They all scrambled and ran away just in time and Baruch Hashem, nobody was harmed.

The members of camp started to theorize as to who had beeped because there was no one in the vehicle at the time of the incident. They started to think; perhaps it was a Malach or maybe Eliyahu Hanovi? Their thoughts ran on and on until they figured that precisely at that time a truck had come to deliver goods to the camp and

it was honking because the front gate was closed and he was trying to pull in!

In another story, a man was driving on the highway when he heard a siren, low and behold, a police car stopped behind him. The man pulled over to the side but the police just drove further. The siren that he heard was actually the background noise from the Daf Hayomi Shiur he was in middle of listening to and this made him think that the police meant him. As he drove again into the highway, with a sigh of relief, he noticed a massive car pileup that happened just minutes ago and with dawning realization he thought that had he not pulled over, he may have very well been among one of those crushed cars.

What do we know? We do not know the mysterious ways that Hashem controls our world. Even if we do not always see the amazing Hashgacha with our own eyes, reading stories like these remind us that the Hashgacha and tremendous care of Hashem is always here. Our Father above is continually and forever looking out for us!

Our thoughts are still unhinged,

after the difficult period we’ve just

Ingredients:• 1 1/2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil• 1 large onion, chopped• 1 cup mushrooms, chopped• 2 garlic cloves, minced• 2 ½ cups diced tomatoes • 1/4 cup tomato sauce• 3 basil leaves, chopped• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper• 1 teaspoon salt• 1/2 cup ricotta cheese• 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese• 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese• About 6 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into thirds & fully cooked• 2 tablespoons parsley (dried or fresh)

Directions:1. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and cook until softened, about 4 minutes. Add garlic and mushrooms and cook until garlic is fragrant, about one minute. Add in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil, salt and pepper. Cook mixture until it thickens up a bit, around 5 minutes.2. Add noodles to skillet and stir into the mixture well. Add scoops of ricotta cheese over the noodles; add in mozzarella and Parmesan. Stir in parsley. Cook about 2 more minutes, or until mixture is thick.3. Serve immediately with additional basil or parsley.

The modern salary for the President is $400,000, which is still considerable but not the millions as some would initially think. George Washington earned $25,000 when he took office, which is equal to $566,000 in today’s money. In fact, in all of American history, the President makes less today than ever before.

The most they’ve ever earned was in 1909 under President Taft. A raise in salary was approved by Congress for the President to make $75,000, which is equal to $1,714,000 today! It was not until later, much later in fact, that the public and Congress agreed this was far too much money. The amount wasn’t changed for some time and was then gradually lowered after the 1960’s. Interestingly, the salary was forgotten for so long that presidents found it difficult to live off of and was not increased until Bill Clinton took office.
