Is 50:4–7; Ps 22:8–9, 17–18, 19–20, 23–24;

Phil 2:6–11;Mk 14:1—15:47

The prophet Isaiah's resolve was to have his ears open to hear God's word; his mouth ready to speak God's message; his back willing to bear the burden; and his face set like flint against those who opposed him. True prophets let nothing deter them from their mission, even though the ears of many are closed to their words.

Paul held up Jesus's obedience as an example to be followed. Jesus chose to align himself with God's will, which entailed entering into solidarity with human be-ings and becoming fully one with them. Awake and watchful to the point of death, he was not dissuaded from doing God's will. Because Jesus was faithful, God exalted him, giving him the name above all names. Clearly, this is God's Son! With hearts and knees bowed, our tongues proclaim: Jesus Christ is Lord!

For Reflection: Have I remained silent before those opposed to our faith? How can I offer hope to those who suffer?

Planning to Marry?Planning to Marry?Planning to Marry?Planning to Marry? The Diocese requires that couples planning to marry in the church begin their preparation at least six months in advance. Couples must contact Fr. Ed for more information and to get started.

EEEEvents for the Week April Generations of FaithApril Generations of FaithApril Generations of FaithApril Generations of Faith We will continue our theme of Eu-charist, which we explored from our Jewish roots in our Seder Sup-per, in our April session, when we focus on the sacrament of Eucharist. This is the sac-rament that is most often celebrated. Do we realize the implications of what we are doing when we say "Amen"? Come join us as we explore the rich tradi-tion in the Catholic church that is Eucharist. Our ses-sions will be Sunday, April 15th after the 9 AM Mass and Monday, April 16th at 6 PM in the gym of the parish center. All in the parish are welcome.

Looking for a few good men Looking for a few good men Looking for a few good men Looking for a few good men (and some good women, too!)(and some good women, too!)(and some good women, too!)(and some good women, too!) The 10 minutes-a-day reading of the New Testament has been a wonderful exercise in understanding scripture. It is not too late to join us on Thursday mornings from 9:15-11 AM in the Faith Formation Office to explore this wonderful book we call the bi-ble. We will provide coffee and snacks. We just ask that you bring yourself and a bible. You do not have to attend each week. Even if you are only able to at-tend once a month, we are sure to provide you with something to think about that will enrich your faith and your reading of the bible. All adults in the parish are always welcome.
