"Do you realize that the great majority of our lovely modern Daffodils, now so much in great demand, are propogated in a climate unlike anything we ex- perience here in the U.S.A.? Those from Ireland are from a latitude of about 55 degrees North, others from Holland only a few degrees further South. To give them a similar location in this country they would have to be planted on the shores of James Bay in eastern Canada, approximately 1500 miles North of Washington, D.C." The above is the start of an article by George W. Heath to appear in Daffodils On Parade, our descriptive list published in July after our bulbs have been dug and sorted. This also includes a list of surplus stocks which we are able to offer at a great discount in BUSHEL LOTS. Included too are varied COLLECTIONS for Beginners as well as for Seasoned Growers and Ex- hibitor's and a most comprehensive Dated List of Nat- uralizing varieties at reduced rates. This catalogue will be sent as usual to all our customers as well as those who have requested this Spring list. If, however you are in neither catagory, please write us and we will be happy to send you one.

During our blooming season (approximately March 15 through April), we maintain a small Exhibit at the HODGE PODGE SHOP in Gloucester, Virginia, where Miss Emerson will gladly take orders for bulbs and also can direct you to our farm, about five miles East of Gloucester and 25 miles North of Williamsburg. We welcome those interested in seeing the blooms in the open fields although we must warn that you will not find a large and Showy Display Garden but a working farm and a mad rush! We plan to Exhibit as usual in over 100 Shows this Spring so hope you will see our blooms then. MALCOLM 2 s House and Garden Store, in Baltimore, Md.. is putting on a Show just for us on April 16th and 17th and will stay open Thursday night.

Bulbs are delivered between Sept. 15th and Nov, 1st. Earlier delivery impractical - Later delivery inadvisable. We raise our own bulbs, - (although we will gladly procure for you any not listed by us if contacted before July 1st.) and we exhibit in Spring flower Shows as well as ship a large quantity of blooms to the market. Hence our bulbs MUST be planted by Nov. 1st as SHOULD yours in order to develop a good root growth before cold weather and fine strong blooms in the Spring.

POSTAGE

We pay postage on all orders except the Bushel Bargains and other large lots. We do however make the small charge of .50 ($1.00 West of the Mississippi) for handling on all .orders.

PRICES

Prices as listed are PER BULB, and are for top sized, double-nosed bulbs unless otherwise stated.

SUPER NOVELTY - Guaranteed to contain 1 bulb each of 100 Novelty types. 100 bulbs for $12.50

ROCKERY MIXTURE - Small types suitable for a Rock Garden. 12 bulbs for $1.50 - 100 bulbs for $10.50

Explanation of Symbols

In our INFORMATIVE CLASSIFICATION (see Page 8) we have endeavored to break down the 11 classes of Narcissi (Daffodils) into groups so they may readily be identified. This is really an attempt to sup- plement the Royal Horticultural Society's Classification, which is in use throughout the world. You will discover, upon consulting this that the letter and numerals pre- ceding the variety denote the class to which it belongs;

for example, 2b-1 Green Island is a large-cupped nar- cissi with white petals and a yellow cup, whereas 2b-3 Ailm FL O. Backhouse, also a large cupped narcissi, has white petals and a pink cup.
