The Daniel Update
Date: March 2015
Location: between houses, JA, Mexico
Greetings and salutations once more from your favorite mis-
sionaries! ...at least we feel like we are. We have had some in-
credibly busy months since our last letter was sent out. The
church “Dios de Esperanza” (God of Hope) in Los Pocitos had the
grand opening of their new building; the Faircloth family came to
visit from NC; we had a great conference with Pastors Aheron
(NC), Daniel (NC), Jarrel (TX), McGahan (NC), and Parker (IN) ; I
was given the great responsibility and privilege of pastoring the
church in Pocitos; and now as I write, our home is in complete
disarray as we are in the process of moving an hour away from
where we now live to Pocitos, to more easily work with the church
there.
Praise: Where should I start? Well, the new church building is
wonderful. Many thanks to all those that took part in the funding
of the project and all of you that prayed for its completion. We
are extremely grateful for your participation. The people are ex-
cited to be in their own building now. A new piano was given to
the church recently too, and let me just say that the pianist is
ecstatic about it.
Prayer: There are a several things that I would ask you to
still be praying about for the church. 1) Please, pray for the
spiritual growth of the people. The village of Pocitos is not
known for being one of great opportunity, therefore many of the
people struggle to make ends meet. There is a constant battle of
the folk having to choose between working or going to church.
Many of the better jobs are not flexible at all with their sched-
ules. Specifically, two members, Danny and Gaby, are praying for
their bosses to allow them Sundays off. 2) There is still work to
be done on the exterior of the building before the rainy season
begins in a few months. Please, pray that we can secure the mate-
rials and get the work finished soon. 3) The church needs to be
registered with the government. Please, pray for God´s direction
and provision in this process which can be both arduous and costly.
4) There are several people that have been visiting the church
quite consistently. Please, pray that through the preaching and the
time with the believers they will see the need to accept Christ as
their Savior. 5) Please, pray for God to give us wisdom and direc-
tion as we look into the possibility of starting outreaches into
some of the remote, mountain villages. There are almost an innumer-
able amount villages that have no Gospel-preaching churches. I
would love to see that change.
Praise: I feel incredibly privileged because we able to work with
the people in Pocitos, and my family and I are so blessed to have
all of you backing us up. I cannot begin to thank you enough for
showering us with love. For example our “poor missionary kids” have
received seven huge boxes full of stuff from y´all in the last few
months not to mention the money that has been sent for them to buy
things!
Praise: Also, thank you to you that have helped us with purchases
to fix up the house that we will be living in temporarily. I laugh
thinking about the place. It looked like it had been through a hur-
ricane. It had no water, no floor in places, no kitchen, it did
have scorpions though, and the list goes on. But due to your help,
it is looking more like a home.
Praise: Beyond that, I have been amazed at your overwhelming help
in our efforts to build a house there. We are almost finished pay-
ing for the land where we would like to build. I was honestly ex-
pecting it to take several years, but oh how wrong I was. There is
even talk of teams coming down to help with the construction of the
house the Summer. We´ll see what happens. I´m so thankful that God
is not bound by our ideas and schedules. I am still in shock at how
much God has blessed us these months! As the psalmist said, O Lord,
my Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth!
Prayer: With the move underway I also feel a bit of sadness.
There are a couple of men in the neighborhood that I have been wit-
nessing to that I will not see very often after the move. I would
love to see them truly understand salvation as the Bible teaches
it, not as the Catholic doctrine misrepresents it. So, if you would
pray with me for the salvation of Chuy (Jesús) and Jorge I would be
grateful.
Prayer: In the last letter I mentioned that I was to make a trip
to Texas to get our van changed over to Mexican papers so that we
could have it here. Well, I went with Jerry Sr. in December. The
issue was that I would need to stay there for two weeks to get it
all done. I didn´t have enough time to do it then, and I am still
trying to figure out when would be a “good time” to spend two weeks
sitting at the border to make it happen. Please, pray that we can
find a way to resolve the issue soon.
Anyway, that´s basically what has been going on here. A lot of
y´all already do write us, but I´ll say it again. Please, feel free
to contact us with questions or just to chat any time you wish. Due
to the move, we will not have internet access except on our cell-
phones, but they have unlimited Facebook access. So, besides the
update letters, a lot of our communication will have to be via Fa-
cebook for a while.
If you should need it our new mailing address is as follows:

Well, thank you again for your part in making our work here in
