Following are some natural and supernatural remedies to use against the calamities that

are menacing the world as revealed to Marie-Julie by our Lord and the Blessed Virgin.

1. THREE DAYS OF DARKNESS (May 27, 1880)

o ONLY BLESSED WAX CANDLES will give light. One such candle will suffice for

each household during the three days of

darkness. They will not give light in the homes of the impious and blasphemers.

2. FATAL PLAGUES

o The one and only remedy to protect oneself: swallow a piece of very thin paper on

which will be written: 0 JESUS, CONQUEROR OF DEATH, SAVE US. 0 Crux Ave.

3. FOR ANIMALS

o One must put around their necks a St. Benedict medal (Our Lady warned all people to

wear St. Benedict medal ).

4. DURING THE PERIOD OF THE GREAT CALAMITIES: Earthquakes, wars,

floods. etc.

o Recite the following prayer to the Holy Cross:

* I hail thee, I adore thee, I embrace thee, 0, Adorable Cross of my Saviour, protect us,

keep us, save us. Jesus loved thee so much, by His example I love thee. By thy holy

image calm my fears, I only feel peace and confidence.

5. GREAT STORMS

o The following prayer to the Cross, revealed by Our Lord, to be recited:

* 0 Crux Ave, spes unica "Et Verbum caro factum est". 0 Jesus, Conqueror of death,

save us.

6. WARS AND REVOLUTIONS

o Our Lord revealed during an ecstacy:

* To dispel all fear and terror, you will touch your forehead with a holy picture or a

medal of Mary Immaculate. Your spirit will remain calm. Your heart will not fear the

approach of the terror of men. Your spirit will not experience the effects of My Great

Justice.

7. UNKNOWN DISEASES (Given during an ecstacy)

o A medal of My Divine Heart, a medal upon which is traced the Adorable Cross. You

will steep into a glass of water the two images -- be it made of cardboard or metal. You

will drink this water that is twice blessed and twice purified. One drop only in your

food, one little drop, will suffice to drive away not the scourge, but the scourges of My

justice. (The Miraculous Medal alone, fulfills the conditions required). You will give a

drop of this water to the poor souls touched by the scourge of unknown diseases -- those

which attack the heart, the spirit, the word.

8. DIVERSE ILLNESSES

o You will use by means of infusion (steeping, brewing):

* The herb of St. John (Glechoma hederacea) (outdoor climbing ivy, on trees),

especially in critical conditions and for the pains of the chest and violent headaches (we

o The Sacred Heart of Jesus:

* The heat will be terrible ... a sign of the Cross made with holy water will diminish the

heat and drive away the sparks. You will kiss five times small indulgenced crosses ...

small crosses applied to the five wounds of Jesus Crucified on a holy image. For such

protection may benefit souls, poor sinners, invoking My Immaculate Mother, Mother of

Salvation, Refuge and Reconciliation of sinners.

11. OBJECTS OF PROTECTION

o The Holy Virgin:

* "Always have ready and at hand your objects of protection: your blessed wax candles,

your medals, your pictures and holy objects from which flow all blessings."

o The Holy Virgin says (April 15, 1900):

* "My little children, it is faith, it is confidence, the most beautiful of all prayer which

12. PLACES OF REFUGE

o Revelation of the Divine Heart of Jesus to Marie-Julie:

* "My loved ones, there are three places of refuge (for the time of tribulations): My

Divine Heart, My Divine Cross, and My Beloved Immaculate Mother."

o St. Anne said the same things to Marie-Julie on July 26, 1923:

* "You have several places of refuge at the moment of chastisement: that of the Cross,

the Adorable Divine Heart, and the Virginal Heart of my Immaculate Daughter."

13. THE MODE OF USING THE HAWTHORN AS GIVEN BY OUR BLESSED

MOTHER on August 5, 1880:

o "There will be a grave illness which human science will not be able to alleviate. This

illness will attack frrstly the heart, then the spirit, and at the same time, the tongue. It

will be horrible. The heat accompanying it will be a devouring fire insupportable and so

intense that the members of the body affected will be red -- an unendurable fiery red. At

the end of seven days this disease, sown like a seed in the field (incubation period) will

spread everywhere rapidly and make great progress."

o "My children, here is the ONLY remedy which could save you. You are familiar with

the Hawthorn which grows practically in all hedges. The leaves of the Hawthorn, not

the wood, can arrest the progress of this disease."

o "You will gather the leaves, not the wood. Even dry, they will keep their efficacy.

You will put them into boiling water and leave them there for 14 minutes, covering the

receptacle so that the steam remains therein. At the onset of this disease, one

must use this remedy three times a day."

o "This disease will produce a continual vomiting and nausea. If the remedy is taken too

late, the part of the body affected will become black and in the black there will be seen a

sort of pale, yellow streak."

If it never happens, I will be thrilled beyond words. If it does happen and we had failed to help others prepare, I would feel responsible.

The Three Days have been announced by

many mystics such as Bl. Anna-Maria

Taigi, Elizabeth Canori-Mora, Rosa-

Colomba Asdente, Palma d'Oria, in Italy;

Father Nectou, in Belgium; St. Hildegard,

in Germany; Pere Lamy, Marie Baourdi,

Marie Martel, Marie-Julie Jahenny, in

France. (This list is not exhaustive; many

more mystics have announced the Three

Days.)

In our opinion, when a very similar prophecy has been made by many people from

different eras, and the holiness of the mystics has been recognized by the Church, we

would be unwise not to believe in the possibility of this prophecy.

Do not take our word or anyone's word on it. Always remember, the Church does not

oblige us to believe in any particular prophecy as a matter of faith.

Because so many folks are eager to learn more about this prophecy, we have decided to

post a bit about it. The following is from my friend Miles at endtimereports.com It is an

abbreviated version, but worth reading. This is for your PRAYERFUL discernment:

THE IMPENDING SIGNS

Increasing violent disturbances on land, at

sea, and in the air; earthquakes, hurricanes,

tornadoes, windstorms, cloudbursts,

breaking of dams, overflowing of streams

and seas, huge tidal waves, floods, unusual

"accidents" taking many lives, famines,

epidemics, destruction, destitution, failure

of crops, water and crops will change,

becoming more" polluted" and less

nourishing. Revolutions, downfall of

governments, dissensions, wars, confusion

in high places, lack of respect for authority, treachery, corruption, brutalities, atrocities.

Breakdown of family life, immorality, adultery, infidelity, promiscuity, perversion and

violence of youth, disobedience, lack of values, indecent nakedness of dress, countless

sins and iniquities, people concerned only with eating, drinking, dancing, and pleasures.

Flaunting of Church laws, irreverence and immodesty in church, lack of attendance at

Church, neglect of holy conduct on Sundays, neglect of the sacraments, sinful pride in

sham-religious activities, many "religious" will fall away and take souls with them,

enemies, persecution, suppression of the Church will increase and there will be many

martyrs. Lack of charity, heartlessness, indifference, and lack of concern for our

neighbor, people turning against each other, even in the bosom of the family, people

proud in their own knowledge, and turning away from God.

We are experiencing these things now. Just glance at the daily newspapers to see clearly

the above impending signs.

THE IMMEDIATE SIGNS

The night will be BITTERLY COLD, the wind will howl and roar, then will come

lightning, thunderbolts, earthquakes, the stars and heavenly bodies will be disturbed and

restless. There will be NO light, but TOTAL BLACKNESS, utter dark will envelop the

entire earth. This will come suddenly like a flash!

NOT A SINGLE DEMON WILL BE LEFT IN HELL. Hell will be emptied and

EVERY evil spirit will be released to roam over the earth and do all possible harm to

souls. The evil ones will appear in the most frightening forms and will fill the air with

pestilence and poisonous gases, there will be "TERRIFYING APPARITIONS." Many

will die from fear and despair, the wicked people will behold the Divine Heart of Our

Lord.

"My angels, who are to be the executioners of this work, stand ready with pointed

swords and they will take special care to annihilate all those who mock ME and would

not believe in My revelations."

Hurricanes of fires will rain forth from Heaven and spread over all the earth, fear will

seize mortals at the sight of these clouds of fire, and great will be their cries of

lamentation, many godless WILL BURN IN THE OPEN FIELDS LIKE WITHERED

GRASS. God's wrath will be poured out upon the whole world, the "chastisement" will

be terrible, SUCH AS NEVER BEFORE, and will afflict the ENTIRE EARTH.

Satan will triumph in these awful days, and hell will appear to have gained possession

of the world, but God will reclaim it, for even this chastisement is an act of God's

mercy. He tells us NOT TO PRAY AGAINST IT, as it must come, but pray to save

yourself and as many others as possible, and pray that these days may be shortened.

BETWEEN THE IMPENDING AND THE IMMEDIATE SIGNS--

There are predicted two other occurrences, as additional and final warnings before the

terror of the three-day darkness. A Prodigy during which time EVERY soul will be

shown exactly how they have offended God and to what extent. This will be a time of

such intense personal suffering that many will "wish" to die, but no one will.

A Miracle similar to that at Fatima, a great wonder to convince many, predicted to take

place on the Feast Day of a "young martyr" of the "Eucharist" but NOT on a holy day of

Our Lady. The miracle will last for about a quarter of an hour and will be visible from

Garabandal, Spain, and the surrounding mountains. Our Holy Father will see it no

matter where he is at the time. This miracle will take place on a date which will be

"announced" eight days BEFORE. Afterwards, God will leave a sign in memory of it.

THE CROSS IN THE SKY

As late as 1965, the three days of darkness was spoken of again in a holy person in

Europe: "The Divine fire and the fire of hell will arrive and last during the days of

darkness indicated by all the saints. My luminous cross will appear in the sky; it will be

the sign that the final events are close, and will remind all of My terrible passion, so that

they will have time to reflect, for I shall not punish the world WITHOUT PREVIOUS

ANNOUNCEMENT.

All will have time to comprehend the significance of that cross in the sky, and everyone

shall see it. All will know, even those who "reject" it, that this My cross will be the sign

that a Redeemer came once to bring salvation and pardon. My cross will be honored as

never before.

WHAT TO DO FOR PROTECTION DURING THE THREE DAYS

As soon as you perceive the disturbed signs of the very cold night: Go inside, shut and

lock all doors and windows, pull down the shades, keep the doors and windows well

covered, go and stay away from doors and windows. Do not look out, do not go outside

for any reason, and do not talk to anyone outside. ANYONE WHO LOOKS OUT OR

GOES OUT WILL DIE IMMEDIATELY! The wrath of God is holy and He does not

want us to see it.

LIGHT YOUR BLESSED CANDLES

All will be black, and the only thing which will give light will be blessed wax candles;

even these will not burn in the houses of the godless scoffers.

Once lit, NOTHING WILL PUT THEM OUT IN THE HOUSES OF THE

BELIEVERS. Be sure to keep a supply of blessed wax candles in your homes -- also

Holy Water to be sprinkled freely around the house, especially at doors and windows.

Bless yourself and others with it. Drink it and anoint your "senses" with it (eyes, ears,

nose, mouth) and hands, feet, and forehead.

KEEP ON HAND a sufficient supply of food, water and blankets for those of your

household and any visitors. Do not count on any utilities.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR ANIMALS by leaving enough food and water outside for

them to last these days. God will preserve the property of the elect, including their

animals. It is assumed that house pets may be kept inside. Animals which have been

petted or cared for by a BLESSED person receive a certain protection.

KNEEL DOWN BEFORE A CRUCIFIX AND PRAY INCESSANTLY. Pray with

outstretched arms, or prostrate on the floor, pleading for many souls to be saved. Make

acts of contrition, of faith, hope, and love. Make acts of Spiritual Communion. Read

spiritual books. PRAY THE ROSARY with meditation on its mysteries. "You must

think more of the Passion of Christ."

CALL UPON GOD'S MERCY, and call upon Our Blessed Mother for He has given

these times into the care of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary (under that

title). "No harm will come to those who are in the state of grace and seek My Mother's

protection."

FOR YOUR SPECIAL INTERCESSORS, call upon the Holy Trinity, Holy Mary, Saint

Joseph, Saints Peter and Paul, Saint Therese (the Little Flower), Saint Francis of Assisi,

Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, Saint Conrad of Parzham, the Holy Angels, your own

Guardian Angels, and Saint Michael the Archangel. The cry: "Who is like unto God!"

(the motto of Saint Michael) will serve as a protection to many.

Those who are caught traveling on the road and unable to get to shelter will die as

martyrs and be taken to Heaven, if they are good. Some children and others will be

taken to Heaven beforehand, to spare them the horror of these days.

"THOSE WHO DISREGARD THIS ADVICE WILL BE KILLED INSTANTLY."

These days of darkness have already been postponed by the increased prayers and the

sacrifices of good people and through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother. They

may still be delayed a little more, but make no mistake about it, THEY WILL COME,

for in the merciful plan of God, this world must be purified of its sin. It is predicted that

these THREE DAYS OF DARKNESS will come and NO ONE WILL ESCAPE THE

TERROR OF THESE DAYS!

"I WILL FIND THEM ALL." -- This is Christ speaking.

THE AFTERMATH

After the three days of chastisement are over, there will be no UNGODLY PERSONS

left, the godless will be annihilated. Seventy-five percent of humanity will be destroyed,

more men than women.

Everyone left on earth will believe in God with all their hearts.

The devastation will be astonishingly great, but the earth will be purified. The spiritual

fervor of the early Christians will return, but there will be so few men left on earth.

When all seems lost, then in a twinkling, all will be saved, the sun will shine again and

it will be as springtime, all fair and beautiful. The Holy Angels will descend from

Heaven and spread the spirit of peace over the earth, and the just will be able to start life

anew.

Some nations will disappear entirely, and the face of the earth will be changed. There

will be NO MORE BIG BUSINESS, huge factories and assembly lines which sap men's

souls and moralities. People will return to the land.

Our Holy Church will rise again, and religious communities will flower. A feeling of

immeasurable gratitude will possess the hearts of those who survive this terrible ordeal

and, upon the return of light, ALL SHOULD KNEEL DOWN IMMEDIATELY AND

GIVE THANKS TO THE HOLY TRINITY FOR THEIR PROTECTION, AND

BLESS GOD.

Then will follow the era of peace as promised by the Blessed Virgin at Fatima.

WE MUST GET AND REMAIN IN THE STATE OF GRACE NOW

We never know the day nor the hour when God may call us. We must let none of these

signs turn us from our Holy Mother Church, but we must cling to our Holy Faith and

TRUST IN GOD'S MERCY. He has promised to protect the just. Do not offend Him by

lack of trust.

"Those who believe my words and spread this message will have nothing to fear. Those

who fight for my cause will receive grace from My Divine Heart."

HAVE YOUR HOME BLESSED AND CONSECRATED TO THE HOLY HEARTS

OF JESUS AND MARY. And always keep on hand: Holy Water, Blessed Wax

Candles, Blessed Palm, Blessed Crucifix, Images of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

RECOMMENDED PRAYERS AND DEVOTIONS

Holy Mother Church gives us a choice of many devotions and a great treasury of

indulgences. She tells us that we should value indulgences highly and we should gain as

many as possible for ourselves and others.

Be enrolled in and constantly wear the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel,

which is "Our Lady's Livery." Every day recite the commutation prayers of seven times

Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be, to gain the Sabbatine Privilege (rescue from

purgatory the Saturday following your death).

Be enrolled in and wear the Miraculous Medal of Our Lady, which bestows such great

graces. Remember her words when She sadly said: "Many people do not receive graces

because they do not ask for them."

The Miraculous Medal Prayer

O Mary, Conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

It is well also to wear the Saint Benedict Medal, which is the highest indulgenced Medal

of the Church. Learn and recite the prayers against Satan, which are engraved on the

Medal.

We should cultivate such devotion to Saint Joseph. It is revealed that wherever the

Blessed Virgin is, Saint Joseph is always with Her, because it was given to him to take

care of Her.

We must always draw nearer to and rely upon the Holy Angels, remembering that they

are not only our guardians but also our messengers, ready to do our bidding. There is a

chaplet in honor of the Angels, which contains remarkable promises for those who

recite it.

We are urged to make MANY MORE VISITS TO THE BLESSED SACRAMENT, and

to make Holy Hours. If we cannot go to a Church for these things, then we should send

our Angel to attend Holy Mass for us, to visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, to attend

to our prayers.

We should make VERY MANY SPIRITUAL COMMUNIONS. Our Lord asked Sister

Benigna to let not even a quarter of an hour pass without making a Spiritual

Communion. SO DESIRABLE THIS IS.

The "Storm Novena" is valuable, in that it brings us to the Blessed Sacrament nine times

in one day. Another devotion most pleasing to Our Lord is to His Holy Face. He not

only wishes us to make reparation for the insults to His Holy Face, but he wants us to

behold Him face to face for all eternity.

Saint Athanasius relates that the devils on being asked what verse in the Scriptures they

feared the most, replied: "That with which the 67th Psalm commences: Let God arise,

and let His Enemies be scattered, and let them that hate Him flee from before His face!"

They added that this verse always compelled them to take flight.

We should give special attention to Saint Michael, the Archangel, and continue to recite

the prayer (by Pope Leo XIII) after each Mass. This holy Pope composed this prayer

after his terrifying vision of Satan's power of destruction in these times.

Much more devotion should be given to the Holy Spirit. We should be impressed with

the importance of the Holy Ghost when we recall that Our Lord said that He must go, in

order that the Holy Spirit could come, and "The Holy Spirit will teach you all things that

you need to know."

We should not forget the Poor Souls in Purgatory. We ask them for favors, and pray for

their release. They are very grateful for the prayers received from us and they respond in

kind. They remember us when they get to Heaven and intercede for us before God

Himself.

The Green Scapular continues to bestow many blessings and effect many conversions

and returns to Church, with the prayer: "Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and

at the hour of our death."

In Our Lord's revelations to Berthe Petit, He particularly asked devotion to Our Blessed

Mother under the title of "Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary."

A prayer too much forgotten is the one which Our Lady of Fatima asked to be said

when we offer sacrifices: "O Jesus, it is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners,

and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary."

When Sister Josefa Menendez (called the "second Margaret-Mary") asked Our Lady for

a prayer to be said constantly while working, She gave this: "O My Beloved, Who art

also My God, make my heart a flame of pure love for Thee!"

Very great promises to save countless souls accompany this little prayer which Our

Lord taught to Sister M. Consolato Betrone (Capuchin Nun): "JESUS, MARY, I LOVE

YOU! SAVE SOULS!"

The fifteen prayers of Saint Bridget of Sweden, on the Passion of Our Lord, are most

timely, since Our Lady has recently impressed upon us that we "must think more of the

Passion of Jesus."

In one of Our Blessed Mother's revelations to a stigmatic nun in Italy, she said: "My

daughter, the time is not far off. When men least expect it, the course of Divine Justice

will be accomplished.

"My Heart is so big for poor sinners and I make use of every possible means that they

may be saved. Look at My Mantle, how big it is! If I were not bowed over the world, to

cover all with My maternal love, the tempest of fire would already have broken upon

the nations.

"This is the mantle of My Mercy for all those who, have repented, come back to My

Immaculate Heart. See. My right hand holds the mantle to cover and save poor sinners,

while My left hand holds back Divine Justice so that the time of mercy may still be

prolonged.

"To help me in this, I ask that the prayer of 'Maternal Refuge' be spread as a most useful

means to obtain graces and salvation for poor sinners."

With Arms Crossed, Say Often: "QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE, MEDIATRIX OF

THREE (3) BAGS of HAWTHORN LEAF

The hawthorn is a heart herb in the rose family. It's flowers combined with its deeply lobed, rose-like leaves, and brown woody stems is to be used in teas and tinctures to treat the heart.

Hawthorn leaf is antispasmodic, cardiac, diuretic, sedative, tonic and vasodilator. Hawthorn leaf has a hypotensive effect as well as acting as a direct and mild heart tonic. There is considerable clinical evidence that hawthorn leaf is an effective

treatment for mild coronary insufficiency, when there is pressure and tightness in the chest accompanied by a slow heart rate and symptoms of congestive heart failure. The flavonoids in the leaf and flower improve circulation in the heart and increase the myocardium's ability to withstand oxygen deprivation.

ST. JOHN'S WORT INFUSION

Our oil is made from freshly gathered St. Johns Wort infused in organic Olive oil, with Vitamin E oil & Lavandula Angustifolia Oil added.

This is a valuable anti-inflammatory which can help speed the healing of wounds, bruises, varicose veins, sunburns, bee stings, and mild burns. Frequently used as a breast massage oil especially after radiation treatments.

St. John's Wort has been used as an herbal remedy for its anti-inflammatory and healing properties since the Middle Ages. The actual cross that Christ was crucified upon was buried and later found by Helena

Augustas, the mother of Constantine. The account of this event appears in writing in the

fourth century. Helena found all three crosses. The True Cross of Christ has cured sick

people as well as restoring a dead woman to life by its touch. Due to this discovery,

along with her acts of charity, Helena became recognized as a saint. Portions of the relic

were distributed for personal use, which helped spread the use of small personal crosses

as objects of protection, signs of Christian belief, and devotion. Relic crosses with the

True Cross also became part of the use of the cross by the armies of the East and the

Crusaders. Relics of the passion, including a piece of the True Cross, were among the

relics used in a procession in Paris in 1559 to save the life of King Henri II. He entered

into medical history as he lived 9 days after a splinter from a lance pierced his helmet

and then his brain while jousting.

It is also well known that St. Helena took a piece of the True Cross to a woman

afflicated with an incurable disease. She was immediately cured and it was

pronounced the True Cross!

HISTORY BEHIND THIS SPECIAL CARAVACA CROSS:

This is "The Cross of Miracles" according to many!

In the year 1232, a miracle occurred in the Spanish town of Caravaca de la Cruz. A missionary priest named Don Gínes Pérez Chirinos de Cuenca was captured and taken before the Muslim

king who was curious about "the Mass". He wanted him to demonstrate the procedure. He refused at first, but finally agreed. The king arranged for the necessary items: an altar draped with a pall cloth, bread and wine, and

some candles. However, a crucifix was missing.

The priest explained that the presence of a crucifix was critical to the Mass and he could not continue

without one.

No sooner had he spoken these words than the chamber was flooded

brilliant light and two angels appeared, bearing a 2-armed cross,

the Vera Cruz of Caravaca, containing wood from the true cross of Jesus

Christ!

News of this Miraculous Crucifix spread and it gained a reputation as a powerful protector and healer in the centuries to come.

The miracles didn't stop there: Eventually, the town passed to the Knights Templar who, in

the 15th century, built the castle that still dominates the town today. At one time, the Knights Templar and townsfolk were under siege by the Muslim army and took refuge in the castle. It

wasn't long before the water stored in the castle became unpotable and several of the refugees became ill. Scouts crept out of the castle at night to look for water but found the neighbouring

wells had been poisoned. In desperation, the scouts raced out of the castle on horses to find a safe source of water. They found some wine, loaded the wineskins on their horses and raced

back to the castle.

The wine was blessed in the presence the Caravaca Cross and served to those who had been debilitated by the bad water. They recovered immediately and the blessed wine was mixed with the toxic water in the storage tanks. The water became fresh and as a result,

the Christians were able to resist the enemy!

Today, an annual fiesta is held in the town to remember those events, which includes a ceremony to bless the irrigation water used by Caravaca farmers.

Because of these miracles and the relic of the True Cross, in 1998 Caravaca de la Cruz became the fifth holy town celebrating the Perpetual Jubilee in the Vera Cruz Sanctuary where

the Caravaca Cross is kept.

Also of Note: Franciscan monks travelled to the Americas, taking copies of the Caravaca cross with them. This cross is also used by archbishops and patriarchs. This crucifix is still popular in

Central and South American churches and monasteries. Houses and business hang this Caravaca Cross on the wall(s). You may also choose to wear it.

The Miraculous Medal

The devotion commonly known as that of the Miraculous Medal owes its origin to Zoe Labore, a member of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, known in religion as Sister Catherine, to whom the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared three separate times in the year 1830, at the mother-house of the community at Paris. The first of these apparitions occurred 18 July, the second 27 November, and the third a short time later. On the second occasion, Sister Catherine records that the Blessed Virgin appeared as if standing on a globe, and bearing a globe in her hands. As if from rings set

with precious stones dazzling rays of light were emitted from her fingers. These, she said, were symbols of the graces which would be bestowed on all who asked for them. Sister Catherine adds that around the figure appeared an oval frame bearing in golden letters the words "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee"; on the back appeared the letter M, surmounted by a cross, with a crossbar beneath it, and under all the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, the former surrounded by a crown of thorns, and the latter pierced by a sword. Twelve stars circled this oval frame, symbolizing the 12 Tribes of Israel and the 12 Apostles, and showing Mary as the Mother of Israel.

At the second and third of these visions a command was given to have a medal struck after the model revealed, and a promise of great graces was made to those who wear it when blessed. After careful investigation, M. Aladel, the spiritual director of Sister Catherine, obtained the approval of Mgr. de Quelen, Archbishop of Paris, and on 30 June, 1832, the first medals were struck and with their distribution the devotion spread rapidly. One of the most remarkable facts recorded in connection with the Miraculous Medal is the conversion of a Jew, Alphonse Ratisbonne (q.v.) of Strasburg, who had resisted the appeals of a friend to enter the Church. M. Ratisbonne consented, somewhat reluctantly, to wear the medal, and being in Rome, he entered, by chance, the church of Sant' Andrea delle Fratte and beheld in a vision the Blessed Virgin exactly as she is represented on the medal; his conversion speedily followed. This fact has received ecclesiastical sanction, and is recorded in the office of the feast of the Miraculous Medal. In 1847, M. Etienne, superior-general of the Congregation of the Mission, obtained from Pope Pius IX the privilege of establishing in the schools of the Sisters of Charity a confraternity under the title of the Immaculate Conception, with all the indulgences attached to a similar society established for its students at Rome by the Society of Jesus. This confraternity adopted the Miraculous Medal as its badge, and the members, known as the Children of Mary, wear it attached to a blue ribbon. On 23 July, 1894, Pope Leo XIII, after a careful examination of all the facts by the Sacred Congregation of Rites, instituted a feast, with a special Office and Mass, of the Manifestation of the Immaculate Virgin under the title of the Miraculous Medal, to be celebrated yearly on 27 November by the Priests of the Congregation of the Mission, under the rite of a double of the second class. For ordinaries and religious communities who may ask the privilege of celebrating the festival, its rank is to be that of a double major feast. A further decree, dated 7 September, 1894, permits any priest to say the Mass proper to the feast in any chapel attached to a house of the Sisters of Charity.

Our Blessed Mother told St. Catherine Labore "Have a medal struck on this model. All who wear it will receive great graces".

We highly recommend that those who suffer consider wearing this medal. Many of us are suffering physcially, mentally or spiritually.
