Voiced and Voiceless Sounds

Feel your vocal cords putting your hand in your throat. Then produce, in a high voice, a simple sound: a, c, t, d, etc.

If you feel the cords vibrating then the sound is voiced.

If you feel the cords at rest, then the sound is voiceless.
