Ongoing Weekday Classes: Daf Yomi with Rabbi Yaakov Nagel. Daf Yomi is a daily regimen of Talmud

study. The entire Talmud is completed, one day at a time, in seven and a half years. Tens of thousands of Jews worldwide study in the Daf Yomi program. The class will take place in the Library 45 minutes before Mincha, Sunday through Thursday.

Daily minyan is a fundamental aspect of synagogue life. Help to assure that we have a minyan each time by joining the minyan WhatsApp group. Those in the group receive periodic reminders of minyan times as well as requests to come when we are short. Come when you can. We are currently looking for volunteers, both male & female, to help serve as Shul greeters

on Shabbat. You will welcome people to UOS as they enter the Sanctuary.

We hope to grow and be able to offer more in time, but to start we are currently able to extend these acts of chesed: 1. Friendly check-in calls – to members we haven’t seen in shul for a while, just to make sure they’re okay. 2. Hospital Visits (bikur cholim) 3. Birthday calls or visits to seniors who’re living alone or don’t have family in the area. 4. Rides to weekday shul events – for members who’d like to come to an event, or perhaps to daven or say kaddish, but don’t have a way to get there.

Shabbat Shalom, We are bringing a successful year of Bnei Akiva Snif to a close this Shabbat. Over the course of the year our madrichim have been working hard on learning and developing skills, creating more creative and better peulot, and establishing a connection with their chanichim.

Kol Hakavod and Toda Raba to all of madrichim for an incredible year!

This Shabbat we will conclude the Snif-year with a special peula and Seuda Shlishit, each Shevet with their own madrichim and don't forget about our special farewell to our Roshei Snif and 12th grade madrichim!

Tot Shabbat will be continuing during the summer, led by Maya Wadler.

Next Shabbat will be last week of Shabbat morning

groups. Groups will resume on August 26th.

Celebrate Israel Parade - Deborah Brown (Shevet Amichai) Rosh Snif, Madricha for Shevet Nitzanim On Sunday, June 4th, I was privileged to be part of the Celebrate Israel Parade in New York City. I proudly marched in the parade with Bnei Akiva North America along with 200+ other Bnei Akiva members all over North America following a Shab-baton at Camp Moshava Indian Orchard. The fun-filled weekend included lots of singing, dancing, and meeting new people, and it culminated with an amazing fireworks show. The theme of the Shabbaton was the 50th anniversary of the reunifi-cation of Jerusalem. In the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel recaptured East Jerusalem, including the Western Wall. There were many political ramifications of this war, which Bnei Akiva is aware of, and much time on the Shabbaton was devoted to respectful discussion and debate about the pros and cons of Jerusalem being the unified capital of the Jewish state. Being in the Celebrate Israel Parade was a great experience that I know I will remember. As we walked down Fifth Avenue, proudly waving Israeli flags, the group sang and cheered in Hebrew and English. The ruach, or spirit, that we had was infectious, and some of the people watching the parade on the sidewalks even joined in our cheers! We used megaphones to lead cheers for the entire group, and many participants, myself included, lost our voices from screaming so much. Thousands of Israel supporters, Jewish and non-Jewish, marched with us in the parade, from hundreds of organizations all across the world. Schools, clubs, organizations, camps, synagogues, elected officials, and many others came to show their love of Israel. Israeli flags were everywhere I looked, and I know that, even though everyone has different opinions on politics and certain Israeli actions, we are all proud that we have a Jewish state.
