Once there was an old house. It was told about, that there was an old man that lived there, who owed his soul to the devil. The man was very rich.

Byl jednou jeden starý dům, o kterém se vyprávělo, že v něm žil starý pán, který se upsal čertovi a byl hrozně bohatý.

In the house the deal stayed, because of the contract written in blood, and a hole in the roof, from where the devil took him away.

V domě zůstala ještě smlouva, na které bylo písmo z krve. A díra ve stropě, kterou ho kdysi čert odnesl.

One day there was a poor student who found Faust´s house. He thought: “The old house looks nice!!” He looked inside. No one lived there.

Jeden den chudý student našel Faustův dům. Myslel si: „Jé, ten starý dům je hezký.“ Podíval se dovnitř. Nikdo tam nebydlel.

The student went inside, it was so weird. The most interesting thing was the hole. He fixed it with some old rags.

Student vešel dovnitř, bylo to tam opravdu zvláštní. Jediná věc, která ho zaujala, byla díra ve stropě, tak ji ucpal hadry.

The student went inside the house. It was the most odd house he ever saw. It was beautiful.

Student vešel do domu a podivil se. Byl to ten nejpodivnější dům, jaký kdy viděl. Byl krásný.

Now he was examining the kitchen. He saw there was a bowl, it was a small coin in it. He said: “Oohh, 10 crowns.”

Teď si prohlíží kuchyni. Na stole byla černá miska a v ní byl malý stříbrňák. Student řekl: „Jé, stříbrňák.“Zvednul ten stříbrňák a dal ho do kapsy.

He thought of what to spend the coin on. Beer, food, clothes, a new pipe? He bought it all.Myslel na to, za co by měl utratit ten stříbrňák. Pivo, jídlo, oblečení, novou fajfku? Koupil všechno.

The student saved his money and then he spent and spent and spent etc. He started to have friends all over, he was happy. Once there was a big feast.

Student ušetřil stříbrňáky a pak začal utrácet a utrácet. Začal hostit kamarády a měl tam veselo. Obzvlášť jednou byla ve starém domě velká hostina.

Next day student´s friends came to Faust´s house, but the student wasn´t there. One thing was really the same before the student came: the old hole in the roof. People examined it and found out the devil took the student away.

Druhého dne šli lidi studenta navštívit, ale on v domě nebyl. Jedna věc však byla stejná jako dřív, než student přišel: stará díra ve stropě. Lidé si ji prohlíželi a smířili se s tím, že ho odnesl čert.

After that the house was forgotten and the hole stayed.

Po studentovi zůstal už jen starý Faustův dům – zpustlý a opuštěný. Stále s dírou ve střeše.
