PLAYING TECHNIQUES

Serving A Volleyball

Line up both your feet about shoulder length

part.

Place your non-dominant hand directly

infront of you, almost completely straight

and palm up with the ball in it.

Swing your serving arm back next to your

head.

Toss the ball up with your palm of your left

hand about 12 to 18 inches (30-45cm) in

the air.

Hit the ball with the heel of your dominant

hand.

After striking the ball, do return to your

defensive position.

Bumping A Volleyball

Make a fist with your left hand and wrap your right

hand around you left fist. Both thumbs should be

flat against the top of your hands with you

thumbnail facing upward.

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and

wait until the ball is the same level as your waist.

Allow the ball to strike your forearm above your wrists. Use a shrugging motion to propel the ball

upward and angle your forearms in the direction that you want the ball to go.

Setting A Volleyball

Hold your hand in the air and curve them into

bocol shape.

Hit the ball with your fingertips when the ball

reaches eye level. Push upward with your legs as

you strike the ball.

Spiking A Volleyball

Approach the ball & lift your dominant hand.

Jump up and strike the ball with your palm.

Reach as high as you can for maximum power.

The ball should travel over the net but sharply

downward so that it is difficult for the other team

to return.
