Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Our time as your Deacon and Pastor is going by quickly! Thank you for your support, validation and acceptance. In person worship, the many signs of spring and the expectations of Easter bring feelings

of joy! Thank you for your precautions through mask wearing and social distancing. Pastor and I look forward to Holy Week services and pray fervently that we will be able to continue to meet in person, depending on the trend of new COVID19 cases.

I am particularly looking forward to Maundy Thursday, which is typically a service of healing that Pastor Byerly and I have been able to provide in the past. This Maundy Thursday, April 1, at 6:30 PM, we will start with individual healing prayer in the Chapel of the Good

Shepherd. Your requests for prayer will be private and confidential. Pastor Byerly and I will offer prayer based on your individual requests

or a general healing prayer, whichever you prefer.

This is a lonely and anxious time for many. Please reach out to church members, family and neighbors, by connecting through phone, video, cards and letters, and in person if appropriate. Continue to keep Messiah Lutheran Church and our friends and neighbors in your prayers. Please let me know if your loved one is hospitalized or in need

of pastoral care. Pastor Byerly and I pray for you daily!

God’s peace be with you! Deacon MaryLou Byerly

The Library Corner – Highlighted Books Children - The Easter Day Surprise - Can you imagine

what it was like for Jesus' followers to endure the events of Good Friday only to discover three days later that His tomb was empty? To find out that He walked among

them again? This picture book for children ages 5-9 retells the surprising events of that first Easter Day in

lively poetry and beautiful illustrations. This book helps readers

understand the wonderful things that took place in the garden. This book is in the Easter section.

Adult - No Wonder They Call Him the Savior; Six Hours One Friday;

And the Angels were Silent - This one volume has 3 books written by Max Lucado. Travel back in time two thousand years and see how the cross changed the very fabric of reality for all eternity. Walk with Christ

toward the cross and decide for yourself who he is. This hardbound book is in the Easter section.

Messiah Lutheran Preschool is now accepting registrations for the 2021-2022 school year. The program is Mon. – Fri. for 3 hours each morning. There are 2 classes: one is for 3 and 4 year olds (The child needs to be 3-years old by Sept. 1st.) and the other is a Pre-K class for 4 and 5 year olds who expect to begin kindergarten in Fall 2022. A Special Thank You. Every Kindness has a part in bringing joy to someone’s heart. It’s sometimes easy to forget that there are nice people out there doing nice things for others. Thanks for being such a special reminder.

Thank you for the beautiful Flowers and for the

Prayers and Cards for Lloyd and me.

Bless you all. Lloyd and Elke.
