DESCRIPTION

YOU CAN WATCH THIS PRESENTATION IN MUSIC HERE (you have the link on the first slide): http://www.authorstream.com/Presentation/sandamichaela-1180649-the-great-ocean-road2/ Thank you! Steve Deal 's music reflects a deep love for the great southland and the God who made it. Most of his instrumental songs were inspired by God and the beautiful Aussie landscape that he grew up in. "As a kid I used to lay down on the trampoline in the back yard and look to the sky as thousands of Galahs flew over head" said Steve. “Scenes like this are so clear and vivid in my memory, I can smell the air, hear the sounds and see the birds, the colors and the awesome sky over Cootamundra in my mind’s eye and that is what track 2 on my native birds cd or track 2 on the spirit of Australia cd were written out of".

The Twelve Apostles draw tens of thousands of visitors every year. Close to the Great Ocean Road, these lonely rocky stacks were formed some 20 million years ago, created as the sea gradually eroded the soft limestone cliffs between Port Campbell and Princetown

The Great Ocean Road is an important tourist attraction and was added to the National Heritage List in 2011.

Although not as well known as the adjacent Twelve Apostles, it contains some equally breathtaking scenery, including the Island Arch, Muttonbird Island, the Razorback and the Dumpling Pots, all magnificent rock formations.

It is named after the three-masted clipper ship, the Loch Ard, which was wrecked there in 1878 with the loss of the lives of 52 people, on the last night of its voyage from Gravesend in England to Melbourne. Two 18-year-olds survived, and their amazing ordeal can be followed along the numerous walking trails around the gorge.
