The Inevitable

Elevation and humiliation is from Allah. The actual position of a person is known after the meeting with Allah.

The group of foremost people. are competing with ,السابقونthemselves to do good deeds, in the best way. They will be the nearest to Allah on the Day of Judgement. Their rewards are favours from Allah.

The foremost on dunya will be the foremost in akhirah, dwelling in gardens of delights, of the body and the heart. Anything which takes you to Jannah is

the delights of dunya. When you fulfill the commands of Allah, this makes your heart happy and filled with delight, which is reflected on your face.

There are hidden and apparent blessings in Jannah. These delights will increase all the time; there is no decrease in Jannah.

The foremost will be more in number from the people before, and less from the later ones. Everyone can be foremost in different ways. We are from the later people, but we must not lose hope. Ask Allah to make you from among them.

Allah describes their couches and beds in detail. They will be woven from gold and silver, embroidered and embellished with pearls and precious gems. They will recline on these couches, resting against the cushions, in peace and tranquility. There will be no worries. We can’t ever be so relaxed in life. There are responsibilities to be fulfilled, and jobs to be done. So Allah will give them this relaxation in Jannah.

They will not be alone. Their couches will be placed in such a away, that no one will give their backs to anyone. They will all be facing each other, while reclining on the couches. This shows that their hearts of the the people in Jannah will be pure and transparent. They will have the best etiquettes and manners.

This also shows the vastness of their seating areas, so that the couches can spread in such a manner that all of them can face each other.

Allah said : I have prepared for My righteous slaves (such excellent things) as no eye has ever seen, nor an ear has ever heard nor a human heart can ever think of.

In dunya, the servants are imperfect, they make many mistakes, and we must give excuses to them, and give them only so many tasks as they can bear. Life is not perfect, this is سنة الحياة, the way of life. Even if you get a good maid, she may leave, die, become sick; she is not eternal.

These immoral boys will go around with different vessels and containers, carrying different beverages and drinks. They will have أكواب, cups without handles, اباريق, vessels with handles, and كأس, wine glasses. The drinks and beverages will be served as desired, in specific vessels. This is for those who are foremost in serving Allah in life. This is how Allah will take care of them.

In life, we have different drinks. Alcohol is haram in life. The one who drinks the wine of dunya, will not be allowed to taste the wine of Jannah. Alcohol in dunya is أم الخبائث, the mother of all evils. The one who indulges in alcohol will commit any other evil. It makes all evil acts easy. This is why it is forbidden, even a tiny drop, in food, in deserts, etc. All of it is totally forbidden. We must abstain from it, not for the side effects, but as obedience to Allah.

The wine in Jannah will be purified. It will not have any harmful side effects. It will not cause any intoxication, nor headaches, nor affect the stomach. This is the special wine which will be served to the people of Jannah.

They will also be served all kinds of fruit, by the immortal boys. They will not even have to ask for what they want; they will desire it, and it will be presented to them. In Jannah, everything is beautiful. The shape, colour, size, smell and taste of the fruit will be good. This is unlike dunya, where things can spoil and smell bad, so we reject them.

Fruits are a luxury, even in dunya. We must thank Allah for them. It is the food of kings, and now they are readily available. The fruits of Jannah will bear some of the names of the fruits of dunya, but they will be completely different in taste, smell, colour and form.

The flesh of birds will be served to the dwellers of Jannah, tender, cooked to perfection, presented beautifully. The meat of fowls is the best and most delicate, of a highest standard. In life, if you have servants, fruit, meat, you are a king! We can relate to all these things, but in Jannah, they will be completely different.

The dwellers of Jannah will have wives, the hoors, another creation of Jannah. They will have wide and lovely eyes, deep black, the whites bright and clear. Their beauty will be flawless and preserved, their skin the texture and gleam of a pearl. There will be no hint of imperfection. They will be the pinnacle of perfect beauty.

The beauty for a believer woman in dunya is to preserve and cover it, and guard her chastity. The women in Jannah will be قاصرات الطرف, their gaze will be restricted only to their husbands.

All these delights are a result of the actions and deeds of the foremost group in dunya. Entry to Jannah is by the mercy of Allah, and your level in Jannah is dependent on your good deeds. The topmost level of luxury is for السابقون, the foremost group.

You must do your best all the time. Struggle to direct your heart.

To complete the delights in Jannah, they will only hear peace and salam, and this will be what is said there as well. They will not hear or see or say anything

disturbing. In life, you may see something disturbing, even if you are in a nice place. But in Jannah, there is no vain talk, nothing useless, nor any sinful talk. لغو decreases the standard of words, while sins make it completely low. When you hear only good words, this upgrades the words. Though لغو or vain talk is zero, no rewards or sins, it will still affect the quality.

is something which has no benefit. It also refers to someone taking لغوan oath but not meaning it.

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه وسلم said :سددوا وقاربوا، واعلموا أن لن يدخل أحدكم عمله الجنة، وأن أحب األعمال أدومها إلى اهلل، وإن قل

Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most

beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little.صحيح البخاري ، حديث 6464#

What makes a believer successful? What makes them go to the highest level of Jannah, Al-F i rdaus? They focus on the i r p r a y e r s , g i v e

zakat, and purify themselves, by avoiding لغو.

Avoid the gatherings of vain talk. Speak only beneficial words. Filter what is said and heard. This gives quality to the gathering.

The ones who are foremost will not witness sinful talk. They pass by without indulging in vain pursuits. They are the special slaves of Allah.

Increase in the remembrance of Allah, decrease in idle talk. We need idle pursuits like salt in our lives.

Certainly will the believers have succeededThey who are during their prayer humbly submissiveAnd they who turn away from ill speech23:1-3

And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity25:72

It was narrated that Qais bin Abi Gharazah said:

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه وسلم came to us when we were in the

marketplace and said: This marketplace is filled with idle talk and (false) oaths, so mix some charity with it.

The Messenger of Allah صــــلى اهلل عــــليه وســــلم used to recite a great deal of remembrance, engage little in idle talk, make the prayer long and keep the khutbah short, and he would not refrain from walking with a widow or poor person and tending to their needs.

The dearest and the closest of you to me on the Day

of Resurrection will be those who are the best in behaviour; and the most hateful and the farthest from

me on the Day of Resurrection will be the talkative and the most pretentious and the most rhetorical.

رواه الترمذي ، كتاب #18، حديث 1738#

Idle talk is also harmful. Those who talk too much will be far from Allah. Their words aren’t beneficial. They speak so much that people will shut down while they are still talking.

Talking too much is an indicator of the person having low intellect. It is also bad behaviour and the worst of manners. It lowers the standard of any gathering.

The Foremost Ones will hear only salam. Their gatherings will be of a very high standard.
