CHIEF PATRON VISITS THE SCHOOL

13 SEPTEMBER 2019Lt Gen Arvind Dutta, AVSM, VSM, GOC 11 Corps, Chief Patron APS Jalandhar and Mrs Simmi Dutta, Zonal

President, Vajra AWWA graced us with their presence on 13 September 2019. They were accompanied by

Brig Amaresh Panwar, CSO HQ 11 Corps, Chairman APS Jalandhar, Mrs Manisha Panwar and staff

officers. They first visited the Senior School Campus where they were received by Principal Dr Saksham

Singh and Vice Principal Mrs Mandeep Talwar. After a briefing by the Principal about the school’s progress,

a felicitation ceremony was held where the Chief Patron and Zonal President, Vajra AWWA, honoured Mrs

Deepali Minhas, PGT English for achieving the highest API in her subject amongst all the APSs under 11

Corps, as a ‘Star Teacher 2018-19’ with a citation and cash prize of Rs 4000/-. Hony Sub Maj Harpal Singh

(Retd), Adm Supervisor, was also honoured for his exemplary services to the school.

Thereafter, the guests visited the Primary School Campus where Mrs Dutta inaugurated the newly

constructed Porta Cabin Classrooms, a welcome addition ensuring the students’ comfort and, Special

Resource Rooms catering to the needs of children with special needs, under Project Asha Kiran, an AWWA

initiative.

At both venues a short cultural programme was presented by the students in their honour.

REMEMBERING THE GREAT MENTOR DR S RADHAKRISHNAN

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION: 05 SEPTEMBER 2019Homage was paid to Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan during the morning assembly on his birth anniversary. In

a reversal of roles the morning assembly was presented by the teachers. Amid very sweet greetings by the

students the day came to an end at half time, where after gifts on behalf of the school management were

presented by the Principal to the faculty members. Thereafter the faculty members got together at the

Jalandhar Club for a light entertainment and lunch.

GROWING TOGETHERMrs Deepali Minhas, PGT, conducted a session for English PGTs. as part of the initiative by the

School Management to have teachers scoring the highest API in their subject in the 2019 CBSE

Board exams, conduct workshops for their counterparts in all other APSs of 11 Corps,

11 CORPS INTER ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOLS ENGLISH DEBATE

19 SEPTEMBER 2019On 19 Sep 2019,the 11 Corps Inter APSs English Debate Contest was held at APS Beas. Our team

comprising five students, 3 for the Senior Category and 2 for the Junior category, did us proud. Besides the

team being adjudged First Runners Up in the Senior Category, our speakers also won many individual

prizes.

Senior Team members :Miss Vedika Pathania, Master Ayush , Ms Amrita Senghera.

Individual Prizes: Miss Vedika Pathania, was placed Second for speaking against the motion.

Master Ayush was placed Third for speaking for the motion.

Master Jaibir Singh was placed Second for speaking for the motion.

SEPTEMBER 2019❖ Ms Davinder Saini attended a one day, CBSE organised Capacity Building Workshop on Stress

Management at MGN Public School, Urban Estate Phase II , Jalandhar on 11 September 2019

❖ The following teachers went to the AWES Faculty Development and Research Centre Delhi Cantt

to attend the said workshops:
