MINI NINJAS ASSEMBLE!

LEGO® NINJAGO™ WORLD OPENING IN MAY 2017

A new awesome world of ninjas is coming to the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort this spring (May 2017)

with the launch of LEGO® NINJAGO™ World, featuring the UK’s first ever 4D, hand gesture enabled

ride.

LEGO® NINJAGO™ World takes guests through interactive NINJAGO character scenes to test balance,

agility, speed and creativity: Zane’s Temple Build, Kai’s Spinners and Cole’s Rock Climb. After

tackling the activities and perfecting their Spinjitzu skills, guests are prepared for the highly

anticipated LEGO® NINJAGO™ The Ride.

NINJAGO™ The Ride is the first attraction in the UK to use thrilling 4D effects of heat, smoke and

wind, alongside state of the art Maestro hand gesture technology, enabling riders to virtually throw

fire balls, shock waves, ice and lightning using nothing but their hands, as well as intuitively adapting

to each individual’s playing style. This, along with 3D image projection throughout the ride, makes

the LEGO® NINJAGO™ World experience feel as real as possible for aspiring young ninjas.

Up to four ninjas can sit in each ride vehicle where their ninja skills will be tested as they score

points battling against snake tribes, skeleton ghosts and King of the Skulkuns, before ultimately facing

The Great Devourer – a giant serpent who can only be defeated by working together and

demonstrating the best Spinjitzu moves.

And of course, a new world means more LEGO models; over 20 new LEGO models can be found in

NINJAGO™ World including two five-foot guardian dragons built from 77,280 LEGO bricks protecting

the entrance, models of Master Wu and the LEGO NINJAGO™ heroes themselves.

LEGO® STAR WARS™ MINILAND MODEL DISPLAY

In 2016 a 500,000 brick LEGO Star Wars™ recreation of Darth Vader’s ultimate super weapon, The

Death Star, became the centre piece of an epic new finale at the hugely popular LEGO Star Wars™

Miniland Model Display. The 2.4 metre wide, 3 metre high Death Star is the focal point for a thrilling,

engaging scene depicting the Rebel Alliance attack on the moon sized space station in Star Wars:

Episode IV A New Hope. As well as the gargantuan 860kg spherical Death Star model, the scene also

features 16 Alliance ships swooping to destroy it with sound and light effects triggered by guests.

The scene provides a thrilling finale to the LEGO Star Wars™ Miniland Model Display which opened in

2012 and brings to life seven iconic Star Wars™ scenes featuring 1,500 separate models made from 1.5

million bricks in themed settings with special effects.

LEGO® CITY

Make a beeline for the LEGO® City Driving School where 6-13 year olds take to the streets in electric

Fiat LEGO cars. Showing off their best motoring skills they will have to negotiate traffic and obey

some simple rules of the road to earn their very first LEGOLAND Driving License. For smaller ones

there’s L-Drivers and everyone will love taking to the water in Coastguard HQ. Take a flight in a

mock hot air balloon in Balloon School or head over to Fire Academy and help pump the cannons and

put out a raging fire.

HEARTLAKE CITY

Step into the LEGO® Friends world of Mia, Andrea, Stephanie, Emma and Olivia. Featuring a mix of

character meet and greets, a live action music show starring all five friends (showing May-August), a

Heartlake City Mall themed area and new attractions. Plus new for 2017 - fans can join the famous

LEGOLAND Pirates on a new action packed adventure full of surprises and spectacular stunts in

‘Return to Skeleton Bay’ at the Heartlake City Harbour. Check show times daily on the website and

the show time boards and arrive twenty minutes early to get the best seats for this high octane, fun

fuelled entertainment with plenty of thrills, spills and water based action. In Heartlake City you’ll

also find the station for the Heartlake City Express, a train ride through a Safari landscape populated

by hundreds of LEGO safari animals.

PIRATE SHORES

Join Captain Good Brick on a quest to discover Captain Black Heart's hidden treasure on the Pirate

Falls Treasure Quest log flume ride. NB: waterproofs are recommended for even the most

adventurous deckhands! Daring buccaneers can act out pirate legends on the high ropes, nets and

slides of Castaway Camp. Test your sea legs and head for heights on the Jolly Rocker Pirate Ship ride,

pan for gold and discover a whole host of Pirate themed LEGO models.

DUPLO® VALLEY

A pre-school paradise of imaginative fun and play, this exciting water play area brings to life the

colourful pre-school building toy range - DUPLO - with its popular characters, animals and vehicles

and features a mix of toddler friendly rides, creative wet play areas and spectacular water features.

MINILAND

A miniature LEGO world where no detail is too small to be captured, Miniland recreates famous

international landmarks in 40 million LEGO bricks - from the major sites of London to the Angel of the

North, the Canals of the Netherlands to the Presidents of Mount Rushmore. A range of animated

features bring Miniland to life, from the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace to

trains, planes and boats. A complex system of 14 computers using 300kms of underground cabling

keeps everything moving. In 2014, Paris was brought to life in miniature featuring staggering

recreations of the city’s most iconic landmarks - including the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe and a 4

metre high replica of the Eiffel Tower.

MINILAND FACTS

There are 34 LEGO pieces in an average Miniland figure.

The largest model in Miniland is the Canary Wharf Tower which is 5.2 metres.

The smallest models are the pigeons in London’s Trafalgar Square which contain just 5 LEGO

bricks each.

KINGDOM OF THE PHARAOHS

Watched over by a giant 6m tall LEGO Pharaoh created from 200,000 LEGO bricks, this Kingdom is one

of pure fun and excitement. Join LEGO hero, Johnny Thunder, on a dramatic interactive dark ride in

Laser Raiders where brave adventurers have to battle it out with the bad-guys to make it through to

the other side, gaining points as they knock out moving targets. Then take the drop on the Scarab

Bouncers ride, rise through the air on Aero Nomad and gallop and soar through the desert on Thunder

Blazer and Desert Chase.

KNIGHTS’ KINGDOM

Dominated by the gigantic Knights’ Castle, this LEGO Kingdom is a land of daring and fantasy. Only

the bravest will take on The Dragon – a thrilling ride of twists and turns, travelling through the depths

of the castle, past animated LEGO models including a giant red dragon before flying through the

treetops. For littler knights there’s the Dragon’s Apprentice – a mini rollercoaster with maximum

thrills and spills – and Knights’ Quest is sure to put heads in a spin with its high speed rotations.

LAND OF THE VIKINGS

Vikings’ River Splash is an action packed family voyage through uncharted waters where Viking rafts

whisk rapidly downstream on a fast paced adventure. You’ll journey through a magical LEGO

Viking world as your raft speeds along the raging river encountering hidden dangers from sea serpents

to secret waterfalls. Once back on dry land you can dodge the giant LEGO Spider on the Spinning

Spider ride.

All aboard for the ultimate underwater adventure as you climb aboard a yellow submarine on the

world first submerged underwater ride, Atlantis Submarine Voyage. The submarines submerge below

the surface and giant viewing windows enable passengers to come face to fin with over 2,500 amazing

marine creatures – from mesmerising Cownose Rays to awesome Zebra and Nurse Sharks, swimming in

a unique LEGO landscape featuring nearly 100 stunning models. For more water action Adventure

Land is where you’ll find the S.Q.U.I.D. Surfer, where you will have to be quick to dodge the water

jets!

THE LEGOLAND® WINDSOR RESORT HOTEL

With so much to do and see at the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort it’s hard to pack it all in to one day

and with packages available at the 150 room LEGOLAND Hotel families can spread the fun over two

days. Situated in a beautiful lake side location overlooking the Resort, guests can stay in one of four

themed bedrooms – Pirate, Kingdom, Adventure or LEGO® Friends – all with interactive elements to

keep children mesmerized. Beyond the bedrooms, the colour, fun and interactivity of LEGO is

stamped throughout, from the playful entrance features through to the Bricks Family Restaurant,

Skyline Bar and outdoor lakeside seating area. Stunning play spaces, including a LEGO Pirates themed

HOTEL OPENING TIMES

The LEGOLAND Windsor Resort Hotel is open all year round (closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day).

FROM THE OUTSIDE IN

The hotel is situated on a beautiful landscaped lakeside area, right on the edge of the LEGOLAND

Windsor Resort. The bright, playful exterior is an indicator of what is to come inside with bright LEGO

blues, reds and yellows, flags flying from the roof and a giant clock tower inhabited by a massive 6

metre smoke-breathing LEGO dragon who welcomes guests outside the main entrance.

Once inside guests will be amazed by another dramatic LEGO model - a remarkable floor to ceiling

rotating LEGO toy box. Exploding out of the base are all sorts of LEGO models from footballs to

emergency vehicles. At child’s level, sensors allow smaller guests to activate noises. At the top of

the mobile giant models reflecting key attractions on the park are suspended and include a yellow

submarine (Atlantis Submarine Voyage) and flying pirate ship (The Jolly Rocker). Watch out too for

the astonishing reception area where you’ll be mesmerised by a wall made entirely of over 6,000 tiny

LEGO Minifigures.

SWEET LEGO DREAMS

LEGO themed lifts and corridors lead you to the bedrooms, where the iconic theming really kicks in –

from the wallpaper to the carpets, even the door numbers and Do Not Disturb signs. On entering the

room, a special code can be found hidden in the carpets and room features that will open a safe

containing a free LEGO gift. Whether you choose a LEGO Friends, Pirates, Kingdom or Adventure

bedroom there are surprises in every corner – from a monkey guarding the treasure

chest to themed LEGO wallpaper. The fun doesn’t stop where mum and dad sleep either, they’ll be

sleeping in their own themed bed surrounded by LEGO surprises - and kids have their own separate

sleeping area where they can play or watch TV and dream of exploring the park.

After time in the park, the LEGO Pirates themed splash pool will inspire little imaginations with its

impressive wall mural depicting a Caribbean beach scene and LEGO pirate ship. Watch out for the

overflowing buckets of water overhead, water slides and the chance to get mum and dad wet with

the shooting water cannons.

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD

Even in the restaurant the fun continues, as 29 child-sized LEGO model chefs have gone mad and

taken over dinner time. Spot one trapped in a giant jelly; see another caught up in the exploding

spaghetti machine and look through the wall to spy on the mayhem in the kitchen itself. High quality,

child friendly and tasty food is on offer and the kids can help themselves to their own buffet with

simple, fun food – including a Wok Bar, Rotisserie, and every child’s dream – an Ice Cream machine.

AND WIND DOWN TIME

After dinner parents can head to the beautiful Skyline Bar, complete with a Manhattan type skyline

scene and spot the LEGO Minifigures at work and play while the kids enjoy the magical stage and play

area where they can climb a castle turret - complete with LEGO princess and noisy ogre. The play

area transforms into a LEGO City backdrop with a LEGO builder working in his cab while an escaped

LEGO pirate dangles from the ceiling. Or simply sit and play with LEGO bricks and make new friends in

the playrooms. On selected evenings, little ones can bop away with Ollie the Dragon and friends as

they entertain the mini crowd with their interactive disco shows. While in summer families can enjoy

the stunning outdoor lakeside seating area overlooking the Resort.

THE LEGOLAND® WINDSOR RESORT HOTEL BRICKTISTICS

An unforgettable LEGO® adventure awaits families at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort Hotel, where

LEGO comes to life. Packed full of fun family friendly features it is a hotel like no other…

It took a team of 45 skilled LEGO model makers from across Europe months to create the

hotel’s 1,600 LEGO models.

Over 15 million individual LEGO bricks worth more than £375,000 were used to create the

models, bringing the total number of bricks on the Resort to 80 million.

Almost 2 million LEGO shaped chips have been eaten since the hotel launched.

Each model is individually made by hand and every one of the 150 themed bedrooms feature

a range of them – from life sized parrots and monkeys to spiders and scorpions.

The rooms have been created around four themes – Pirates, Kingdom, Adventure and new

LEGO Friends – with the design immersing guests in their selected LEGO world.

Every room contains a safe and children are invited to crack the code by solving hidden

clues; then break it open for the hidden LEGO loot.

Each bedroom has a separate sleeping area for children packed full of fun stuff to keep them

amused – including, of course, LEGO to fuel their imaginations.

The reception area features an entire wall made from over 6,000 5cm tall Minifigures.

The restaurant area is populated by 29 child-size LEGO characters and a 2m “exploding”

spaghetti machine.

Guests are greeted in the entrance lobby by a spectacular, 4m high, exploding toy box

mobile comprising 26 separate models representing different areas of the LEGOLAND Resort.

The biggest individual model is a 100 kg, 6m tall smoke breathing dragon with a 6m wing

span, perched in a tower outside the entrance.

The smallest individual model is a tiny 7cm ladybird.

Red is the most frequently used LEGO brick and grey the least.

The central play area features a giant princess tower, 6m high LEGO® city crane and massive

castle drawbridge complete with guardian ogre

By Road: Situated on the B3022 Windsor/Ascot road, the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is clearly

signposted from Junction 3 of the M3, Junction 6 of the M4 and Junction 13 of the M25.

By Rail: Shuttle bus services operate from both Windsor & Eton Riverside station and Windsor Central

station. Money-saving rail travel and admission combination tickets are available from most Southwest

Trains stations.

By Eurostar: With services from Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne, Lille and Calais, Eurostar offers

good connections to Windsor via St. Pancras.

By Air: London Heathrow airport is just 12 miles away via the M4. Gatwick airport is 45 miles away via

the M25 - about an hour's drive, depending on traffic levels and the time of day.

Accessibility at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort has been designed with the needs of guests with

park for guests with disabilities allowing easy access to the park and each toilet block has two toilets

available for wheelchair-users.

Ride Access Passes are available to guests who do not understand the concept of queuing and who

would become distressed in queue lines. To qualify for a Ride Access Pass, guests are required to

produce identification or letter of authority stating their disability. The pricing policy for guests with

disabilities is as follows: the guest with a disability is required to pay the standard admission price for

their visit whereas the guest’s personal assistant is permitted entry free of charge.

The Q-Bot Ride Reservation device helps guests to make the most of their visit to the LEGOLAND

Windsor Resort! Q-Bot allows guests to reserve their place in the queue on the top 20 attractions at

the Resort. Q-Bot allows guests to spend time enjoying the park’s other attractions whilst they wait

until their allocated ride time. Once guests reach the set time they simply make their way to the

front of the attraction’s queue via the Q-Bot entrance and board their chosen ride. Q-Bot is available

from £20 per person for the Q-Bot Regular, £35 per person for the Q-Bot Express and £75 per person

for the Q-Bot Ultimate. You can have up to six people on a Q-Bot and they can be purchased at The

Beginning and Heartlake City. Plus, Q-Bot Mobile allows guests to access all the benefits of Q-Bot Ride

Reservation via their smartphone at www.legolandqbot.co.uk.

Wi-Fi is available for free via The Cloud across the whole of the Park. Free Wi-Fi is also available for

LEGOLAND Hotel guests.

Pets at the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort are not permitted in the Park, with the exception of

Assistance Dogs. The Resort offers kennels for dogs for £5 per kennel when booked online. An

additional £10 returnable deposit is required when registering with Guest Services located at The

Beginning.

Family Facilities include our dedicated Baby Care Centre, located in Heartlake City, which offers a

private place to breast or bottle feed babies and change nappies. Toilet blocks throughout the Resort

have baby changing facilities and large cubicles with additional seating for children. We have also

included child-sized toilets, wash stands and water fountains. Baby food is available in all of the parks

family restaurants including Knights’ Table, City Walk Pizza & Pasta and the Hill Top Café.

Emergency Contact Wristbands are available at Guest Services on request. If you have a mobile

telephone you can write down the number on the wristband which is worn by the child. They are a

quick and effective way of helping us reunite lost parents and children.

Parent Swap enables Parents and guardians with children who do not meet height restrictions to take

turns in taking their taller children on rides. The parent swap allows both parents, with a child too

small for a ride, to swap places without having to queue twice. A member of the Attractions team at

each ride will have further details. This service is not available on all rides and attractions and

children must be supervised by an adult, in their party, at all times. LEGOLAND employees are not

able to supervise children whilst a parent swap is taking place.

Buggy Hire & Lockers are available and families can hire a single pushchair for £10 or double

pushchairs for £15 for the day. Lockers can be found in The Beginning, DUPLO® Valley and

Imagination Centre areas and require a £1 coin to operate which is non-refundable.

with hands-on experiments that combine creativity with technology and playful learning.

who have also received training and support from LEGO Education. This means that our workshops

are finely tuned to complement the National Curriculum - with a LEGO twist! Pupils can learn about

Underwater Habitats to being a LEGO Artist and Geography to Computer, Design and Control. The

workshops last 45 minutes and are adaptable for use by pupils with special educational needs, from

2012) and LEGOLAND Dubai (opened in 2016). LEGOLAND Japan is set to open in 2017 and there are

1968 LEGOLAND opens in Billund, Denmark – six million LEGO® bricks used.

1970 Billy Smart Circus family opens the ‘Windsor Safari Park’ on the site that would later

become home to the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort.

1977-1988 Windsor Safari Park changes ownership several times.

1989 Research begins for developing other LEGOLAND Parks – over 1000 sites are considered.

1992 Windsor Safari Park goes into receivership. The 150 acre site near Windsor is chosen as

the location of the first LEGOLAND outside the home of LEGO in Denmark.

1992-1993 LEGOLAND Windsor – planning, design, site preparation, plus model design and

The LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland Model Display opened in March 2012 at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort

and painstakingly recreates seven of the most famous scenes – six from the beloved Star Wars™ films

and one from the smash hit animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars™, using around 1.5 million

LEGO bricks.

March 2013 saw the popular LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland Model Display gain its own LEGO® Star Wars™

Gallery. See 12 of your favourite characters from the Stars Wars™ movies built from LEGO bricks, with

each character standing 3 feet tall, including Yoda, Chewbacca, Anakin Skywalker and Princess Leia.

A must for all LEGO® Star Wars™ fans!

In 2016 a 500,000 brick LEGO® Star Wars™ recreation of Darth Vader’s ultimate super weapon, The

Death Star – became the centre piece of an epic new finale of the LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland Model

Display. The massive 2.4 metre wide, 3 metre high Death Star is the focal point for a thrilling,

engaging scene depicting the Rebel Alliance attack on the moon sized space station in Star Wars:

Episode IV A New Hope.

The LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland Model Display is located in The Beginning area of the Resort.

SCENE BREAKDOWN

Episode I: Naboo One of the most geographically varied planets in the Star Wars™ galaxy. This scene

depicts the Battle of Naboo and the capital Theed – both the Royal Palace and the hangar can be seen

here. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn fight the Sith apprentice, Darth Maul

Episode II: Geonosis In this scene, visitors have a fantastic view of the Geonosis arena, in which

Padmé Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker battle ferocious creatures. Witness the clash

between Count Dooku’s droid army and the Grand Army of the Republic.

Episode III: Kashyyyk and Mustafar Two planets, Kashyyyk and Mustafar, are revealed in this scene.

You'll be placed right into the Battle of Kashyyyk – the home of Chewbacca and the Wookiees where

you'll discover LEGO® brick vehicle models, such as the massive Clone Turbo Tank. And catch a

glimpse of the fateful Mustafar duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

Episode IV: Tatooine Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, C-3PO and R2-D2 can be spotted on this

desert planet... Tatooine. Here you'll discover Uncle Owen’s moisture farm, where Luke Skywalker

lived as a child; peek inside the Cantina where the animated Cantina Band plays and stand above the

spaceport where the largest LEGO model of Han Solo's famous starship, the Millennium Falcon, sits

ready for take-off.

Episode V: Hoth The Rebels take refuge on this icy planet, but the Empire tracks them down and the

Rebels are forced to flee. This scene features LEGO models of the Imperial AT-ATs, Rebel

snowspeeders and Luke Skywalker’s X-wing starfighter. Look closely and you'll see Luke Skywalker,

Han Solo and Princess Leia.

Episode VI: Endor Next we travel to a forest moon and home of the Ewoks, who fight against the

Imperial Forces alongside the Rebels. The Endor system plays a key role in Return of the Jedi as the

site of the Battle of Endor, fought to prevent construction of the second Death Star. This scene

presents the final victory of the Rebel Alliance over the Empire. View a large-scale model of an

Imperial shuttle, delivering a fearsome passenger - the Dark Lord of the Sith himself, Darth Vader.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars™: Christophsis This final scene from the animated series is set on the

planet Christophsis. The series takes place between Episode II and Episode III and focuses on the

adventures of Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The LEGO scene depicts part of the

planet’s surface, with the largest of all LEGO® Star Wars™ models: an approximately 8-foot tall

building from the Crystal City. You will also see a scene showing a battle between Separatist battle

droids and Republic clone troopers.

LEGO® Death Star Finale: The dramatic final scene conjures up the fateful Battle of Yavin and as

well as the gargantuan 860kg spherical Death Star model, featuring 16 Alliance ships swooping in with

Luke Skywalker’s X-wing Starfighter poised to shoot its proton torpedoes into the super weapon’s

reactor core. Guests can feel the Force too, joining in the action by triggering sound and light effects

to bring the battle to life.

LEGO® STAR WARS™ MINILAND MODEL DISPLAY BRICKTISTICS

• It took almost 8,000 man hours and over 1.5 million bricks to create the 1,500 models in the

LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland Model Display.

• The largest vehicle in Miniland is the Clone Turbo Tank in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith™ -

Kashyyyk and Mustafar. Made up of 10,180 bricks, it weighs 44kg and took 350 hours to

build.

• The design and development of the Millennium Falcon in the scene from Episode IV: A New

Hope™ took 143 hours and was the most challenging model to build – Star Wars™ fans know

every detail! It is made up of 15,000 LEGO bricks, weighs 37kg and is 1.8m long and 1.3m

wide.

• The largest of all the Star Wars™ models is a 2.5m tall Crystal Building, inspired by the scene

from Star Wars: The Clone Wars™. Weighing in at 120kg, it is made of 45,000 bricks and

stands at exactly 2.65m high.

• The smallest model is Yoda, made up of just 30 LEGO pieces – he appears twice in the

Miniland.

• The LEGO model of the Geonosis arena is 1.3m x 1.3m wide and 1.2m high, and was built

with 30,000 LEGO bricks.

• 39 Ewoks can be spotted in the final scene from Episode VI: Return of the Jedi™, set on the

planet Endor.

• The Palace of Naboo weighs 63kg and is made of 25,000 LEGO bricks.

• In total the ambitious new Death Star scene comprises 651,086 individual LEGO bricks and

took a team of 15 Model Makers three months to build and install.

STEP INTO THE WORLD OF THE LEGO® FRIENDS IN HEARTLAKE CITY

In 2015 the vibrancy and fun of Heartlake City was brought to life with exciting new attractions, an

action packed live show AND an equestrian themed ride, Mia’s Riding Adventure.

In Heartlake City guests can step into the colourful world of the LEGO Friends. The unmistakeable

exterior of the Heartlake Mall gives a stunning harbour-side backdrop for the exciting live show

'Friends to the Rescue!' featuring Mia, Andrea, Stephanie, Emma and Olivia. Fans can join the girls on

an action packed adventure full of surprises and sing and dance along to their favourite LEGO Friends

songs. Then guests can head over to the Heartlake City Express for a gentle train journey through the

LEGO countryside, before taking a more energetic equestrian turn on Mia’s Riding Adventure. This

horseback adventure spins riders through the air, travelling backwards and forwards on a circular

spinning ‘race track’. Plus at Olivia’s House little LEGO builders can help build a home for one of

Olivia’s pets and Emma’s Ice Cream Parlour will be dishing up some delicious desserts.

Those who want a double whammy dose of LEGO Friends can check into one of the recently opened

premium themed rooms at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort Hotel. From the bright wall graphics to the

Friends-tastic LEGO models, the ten brand new rooms at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort Hotel are

pure Heartlake City. Some of the Friends' favourite pets - Scarlett the Dog, Felix the Cat and Goldie

the Bird are recreated in LEGO, plus look out for LEGO pony rosettes, butterflies and flowers too.

Accommodating two adults and up to three children, each room has a separate sleeping area for

young Friends and their grown-ups. Children (and adults alike) will delight in solving the special clues

hidden in the carpet to unlock the Friends LEGO surprise that awaits in the LEGO safe. Plus there are

interactive games and two TVs - one for the kids and one for the adults, as well as a premium en-

suite bathroom with more LEGO twists and flourishes. The new LEGO Friends rooms bring a fourth

theme to the 150-room hotel joining the existing Kingdom, Pirate and Adventure rooms.

SET SAIL FOR PIRATE SHORES FEATURING CASTAWAY CAMP

2014 saw the hugely popular Pirates Landing reopen as the revamped Pirate Shores. The land features

Castaway Camp - an awesome totally new pirate adventure play area, more than 100 brand new

LEGO® models and themed features on the Pirate Falls Treasure Quest log flume ride, plus a new

themed restaurant, the rollicking Jolly Rocker Pirate Ship ride and Pirate Goldwash - Pirate Shores

promises a swashbuckling family adventure.

Join Captain Good Brick on a quest to discover Captain Black Heart's hidden treasure on an exciting

LEGO-tastic voyage on Pirate Falls Treasure Quest log flume ride - featuring more than 100 new LEGO

models. Guided by Scallywag the Parrot, guests will set sail on a quest for the buried treasure in Black

Heart’s hidden lagoon. After negotiating choppy crocodile infested waters, dodging mischievous

monkeys and even witnessing a full scale sea battle with duelling pirates and firing canon, the boat

takes the final climb to the pirate’s Treetop Lookout before plummeting towards an adrenaline

fuelled finale. NB: waterproofs are recommended for even the most adventurous deckhands.

Daring buccaneers will also delight in the rigging, hideaways and turrets in Castaway Camp - a

gigantic totally new adventure play area. Complete with a towering forgotten fortress and fearsome

battleships children can act out pirate legends on the high ropes, nets and slides and defend their

shipmates from invading enemies.

Also in Pirate Shores is the Jolly Rocker Pirate Ship ride promising to test sailor’s sea legs and their

head for heights plus a Pirates Gold Panning area AND an all new quality family restaurant, Pirate

Shores Burger Kitchen, serving a tasty menu of flame grilled pirate favourites.

PIRATE SHORES - A TREASURE CHEST OF PIRATE-TASTIC FACTS

The hugely popular Pirate Shores features more than 100 LEGO® models in the Pirate Falls

Treasure Quest log flume ride.

A team of twelve top Model Makers used over one million individual LEGO bricks to create

the models featured in Pirate Falls Treasure Quest.

The largest model is a giant LEGO crocodile, which is comprised of over 85,000 individual

bricks and at full length is over 3.5m long. The crocodile rises out of the water as boats pass

by, opening his jaws wide to show guests his pearly white teeth!

The pirate standing on guard next to the cannon is the most complex model built for Pirate

Falls Treasure Quest. He rotates his head and moves his arm up and down to light the

cannon’s fuse.

• The most common colour LEGO bricks in Pirate Falls are red and blue as they were used to

build Captain Goodbrick (the blue pirate) and the scurrilous Captain Blackheart (the red

pirate).

• Captain Goodbrick is made up of around 33,500 bricks and Captain Blackheart is made up of

around 28,000 bricks.

• Scallywag the Parrot is made from approximately 2,000 individual LEGO bricks and oversees

Pirate Falls Treasure Quest from his perch, guiding guests on a quest to find Captain

Blackheart’s hidden lagoon.

• 30,000 litres of water pumps through Pirate Falls which includes a fast flowing waterfall and

a 10 metre water drop from Treetop Lookout. Waterproofs recommended!

• The Jolly Rocker tests young buccaneers’ heads for heights with a maximum swing that takes

the boat’s hull to a heady 18 meters.

• Castaway camp is designed for maximum imaginative play, with 82.5 metres of rope making

SPLASH AND PLAY AT DUPLO® VALLEY AT THE LEGOLAND® WINDSOR RESORT

A pre-school paradise of imaginative fun and play awaits young visitors in DUPLO Valley, a completely

new themed land which opened in 2013. This exciting water play area brings to life the colourful pre-

school building toy range – LEGO® DUPLO with its popular characters, animals and vehicles and will

feature a mix of toddler friendly rides, creative wet play areas and spectacular water features

Splash Safari is the ultimate wet play environment for little ones featuring a menagerie of DUPLO

animals - from lions and giraffes, to zebras and elephants, penguins and polar bears. Designed with

under-fives in mind, children can splash and play in complete safety as their favourite DUPLO animal

friends squirt out fountains of water showering anyone in their paths. This area is for children only

with convenient viewing areas for parents to observe the fun from a dry distance!

There’s plenty of wet fun for older members of the family too up at Drench Towers. Situated high at

the top of the Valley Drench Towers is the largest outdoor water play structure in the UK especially

designed for maximum soaking. Older kids will love dodging the massive tipping brick poised on top

of a 10m tower ready to splash its contents at regular intervals. Watch out those below – with 1200

litres of water spilling every tip of the brick anyone beneath is guaranteed to get very, very wet.

And there are five different sized splashtastic water slides to whizz down. From an awesome high

twisted tube slide to a smaller two lane play slide there’s a river rapid to suit the whole family.

Drench Towers is aimed at older children who must reach the minimum 1.1m height restriction to

take part.

There’s also plenty of dry fun in Brickville where the landscape is designed for exploring and

imaginative play. Children can climb around a village full of bright DUPLO® buildings fitted with

climbing frames and slides. From the Caveman’s House to the Town Garage, there’s plenty of

surprises to discover and lots of appealing DUPLO® characters to meet, including curious dinosaurs

and colourful clowns. And when small feet are tired it’s time to climb aboard the DUPLO® train for a

ride around town. Or hop on board a helicopter at the DUPLO® Valley Airport for a bird’s eye view

across the whole area. And no visit to DUPLO Valley would be complete without a trip to the DUPLO®

Puppet Theatre with family friendly shows happening throughout the day.

Just at the bottom of the DUPLO® Valley there’s another toddler-tastic treat in store for families,

Fairy Tale Brook. One of the Resort’s original and best loved attractions was lovingly restored in 2013

and with around 5 million individual LEGO bricks, it portray scenes from some of the world’s best

loved fables. This gentle boat journey takes guests through a fairy tale landscape that now includes

Cinderella, Snow White and Goldilocks. Cinderella’s figure shows the magical character

transform from fireside Cinders to fairy tale Princess Cinderella and the scene also depicts her Fairy

Godmother, enchanted carriage and a special LEGO glass slipper made from 250 transparent bricks.

Also brand new are Goldilocks and The Three Bears in the bear’s cottage complete with Goldilocks

asleep in Little Bears’ bed. And no fairy tale collection would be complete without Snow White and of

course her Seven Dwarves. Also featured are Sleeping Beauty and Prince Charming, The Three Little

Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood.

The land caters perfectly for the under-fives, with colourful nappy changing areas, swim nappies for

babies plus swimwear for kids of all ages and stand-in drying machines for use post-Splash.

DUPLO® VALLEY - SPLASH-TASTIC FACTS

DUPLO® Valley is a 4,250 square metre themed area designed specifically for families with

younger families with the focus firmly on splashing and playing.

Over 600 tons of water is pumped through the area every hour to keep Drench Towers

drenching and Splash Safari squirting.

Splash Safari features 7 animals. The smallest is the 635mm high Gator and the biggest is a

striking 2.6m tall Baby Giraffe.

Drench Towers is the largest outdoor water play structure in the UK at 10m high by 22m

wide; its tallest tower from which a giant tipping brick regularly spills its contents also

stands 10m tall.

There are five splashtastic water slides in Drench Towers. The biggest is the 5m high, 40m

long slide which is also the fastest with a potential wet acceleration speed of 16km/hr.

The smallest slide is a less vertiginous 2 lane 6m long slide more suitable for younger

members of the family.

Maintaining a rigid straight position with arms folded tightly across the chest is the optimum

position for a fast slide experience.

The entire structure took a team of 30, 6 months to create and the Splash Safari animals

were moulded in Canada travelling 7,500 kilometres to Windsor by sea in specially designed

containers.

THE MAGICAL WORLD FIRST LEGO® SUBMARINE RIDE

Climb aboard a yellow LEGO submarine for a voyage of aquatic discovery and adventure on the

LEGOLAND Windsor Resort’s LEGO world first submerged underwater ride, Atlantis which opened in

Spring 2011.

As the Atlantis submarines submerge below the surface, families are invited to join a special rescue

mission on a marine voyage beneath the waters of the lost world of Atlantis. Giant viewing windows

enable passengers to get face to fin with over 2,500 amazing marine creatures – from mesmerising

Cownose Rays to awesome Zebra and Nurse Sharks, colourful Clown Fish, tropical Tangs and stunning

Parrotfish. The unique aquatic landscape features nearly 100 stunning LEGO models including sunken

treasure, swimming mermaids and a gigantic model of King Neptune himself.

Lively onboard commentary courtesy of LEGO characters and mission leaders, Captain Ace Speedman

and Professor Samantha Rhodes, brings to life the watery world with fun and informative facts about

its fishy inhabitants, whilst passengers can join in and help navigate their sub safely home through

interactive control panels. Once back on dry land guests can indulge in some more close up marine

investigations with touch pools and “pop up” tropical displays you can literally climb right inside.

Curated by SEA LIFE, a world leader in aquariums, marine education and conservation, Atlantis is a

unique combination of LEGO imagination, interaction and fun learning and a world class SEA LIFE

aquarium experience.
