Hi All Lions,

I would like to thank you all for the help you have given to me throughout my year 2018-2019. I

have had some of the greatest days of my life representing the Millbrae Lions Club and have met

so many of Millbrae’s dignitaries. I look forward to The Mother of all Pancake Breakfast this

coming weekend 6/8/19, followed by the last BOD meeting, and then the Installation Dinner

6/22/19 and Millbrae Lions 1st Annual Casino Night 6/28/19. We have accomplished so much this

year and have had the honor of bringing in 6 new Lions.

Unfortunately, weather didn’t permit our Lion’s Family Picnic to happen, but I hear it has been

rescheduled for Oct.

One of the biggest accomplishments as I said in my Installation speech last year was to bring The

Millbrae Lions Club back to Greenhills. This has been done with help of many Lions including Lion

Ed Musa, and Lion Secretary Rob DuCote. It is always a great feeling when we are able to do for

others, but it is also a great feeling knowing that we are taking care of our own Lions Family.

Having events such as Casino nights, Family Picnics, and Golf Tournaments has been a true joy.

Our portfolio of projects and activities is as strong as ever, I look forward to serving the Millbrae

Lions Club and our Community as I move forward in my years as Past President. If you are

thinking of going through the ranks in the Millbrae Lions Club, I give it "Two Thumbs Up" and

finally I’d like to Thank my Secretary Lion Rob DuCote, who has been there with me through thick

and thin. We have accomplished so many great things for our Club. I know you will lead our Club

in the coming year with style and grace. I look forward to our next meeting paying tribute to our

Past Presidents.

Thank You All,

Honoring the Past Embracing the Future

Wayne Lee, Dave Van Wart, Milbrae Lions 2019 Steve Henderson, Robe Du Cote’ Leadership Ascension Chart Bart Speccia, Gary Pelligrini, Bruce Sutter, Calvin Chin

For the past 5 years, our Millbrae Lions Club incoming President and his/her Millbrae Lions Executive Officers gather to fine tune our famous MLC 5 year roadmap, with a new vision of what our club looks like and how "We Serve" our Millbrae Community. This is to ensure that our famous Millbrae Lions Leadership, Sweat-Equity and deep Project Portfolio effectively addresses the important unmet needs of the 21st Century Millbrae Community. Our incoming 2019-20 Millbrae Lion President Rob DuCote and his executives Lion 1st VP Wayne J Lee, Lion 2nd VP Gary Pellegrini and Lion Secretary Steve Henderson collaboratively worked on their 5 year vision (2024) and the various club goals (by years 2019-20, 2020-21, etc) that will help drive our club towards that 5 year vision in 2024. As active listeners, current Lion President Bart Speccia, Lion IPP David Van Wart and Lion PP Bruce Sutter provided sounding board feedback as needed. It's going to be an exciting 2019-20 year for both the Millbrae Lions Club and our dear Millbrae Community "We Serve"!

Lions Clubs Code of Ethics

• To Show my faith in the worthiness of my vocation by industrious application to the end that I may merit a reputation for quality of service.

• To Seek success and to demand all fair remuneration or profit as my just due, but to accept no profit or success at the price of my own self-respect lost because of unfair advantage taken or because of questionable acts on my part.

• To Remember that in building up my business it is not necessary to tear down another's; to be loyal to my clients or customers and true to myself.

• Whenever a doubt arises as to the right or ethics of my position or action towards others, to resolve such doubt against myself.

• To Hold friendship as an end and not a means. To hold that true friendship exists not on account of the service performed by one to another, but that true friendship demands nothing but accepts service in the spirit in which it is given.

• Always to bear in mind my obligations as a citizen to my nation, my state, and my community, and to give them my unswerving loyalty in word, act, and deed. To give them freely of my time, labor and means.

• To Aid others by giving my sympathy to those in distress, my aid to the weak, and my substance to the needy.

• To Be Careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise; to build up and not destroy.

Lions Clubs Objectives

• To CREATE and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world.

• To UNITE the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship, and mutual understanding.

• To TAKE an active interest in the civic, cultural, social, and moral welfare of the community.

• To PROMOTE the principles of good government and good citizenship.

• To ENCOURAGE service minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.
