Second Reading 2 Cor 1311-13 A reading from the second letter of St Paul to the Corinthians The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all Brothers we wish you happiness try to grow perfect help one another Be united live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you Greet one another with the holy kiss All the saints send you greetings The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all
Gospel Acclamation See Apoc 18
Alleluia alleluia Glory to the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit
to God who is who was and who is to come Alleluia
Gospel Jn 316-18
A reading from the holy Gospel according to John
God sent his Son to save the world through him
Jesus said to Nicodemus
lsquoGod loved the world so much
that he gave his only Son
so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost
but may have eternal life
For God sent his Son into the world
not to condemn the world
but so that through him the world might be saved
No one who believes in him will be condemned
but whoever refuses to believe is condemned already
because he has refused to believe
in the name of Godrsquos only Sonrsquo
Prayers and Reflections 3 June 2020 Scripture reflection lsquoThe God of Love and Peace be with you Source Australian Catholics 28 May 2020 One God three persons united in a constant flow of love and tenderness On this feast of the Most Holy Trinity we are all invited to be drawn deeper into the rhythm of this eternal dance of love
Moses met God in the form of a cloud (First Reading) God revealed the foundational truth that underlies the commandments Moses was carrying the Lord is compassion and tenderness slow to anger and rich in kindness The Psalm from the Book of Daniel is an excerpt from a joyful song of praise attributed to three men whose faith had saved them from a fiery furnace lsquoTo you glory and praise for evermorersquo
In Paulrsquos letter (Second Reading) we hear how the early Christian community were encouraged to embody this Trinitarian loving relationship in how they lived and greeted one another As we consider the restrictions we have been living under may we truly value and cherish our bonds of friendship
In Johnrsquos Gospel Jesus reveals to Nicodemus the depth of Godrsquos love for all people God sent his Son so that all may have eternal life
Our Creator God became fully human and lived as one of us physically living out the compassion and tenderness revealed to Moses centuries before At Pentecost the Spirit of God was poured into the hearts of Jesusrsquos followers This same Spirit of love and kindness unites us now as we pray whether we do so alone in a group or in a virtual gathering
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all Prayer to the Holy Trinity Source Catholic Online Glory be to the Father Who by His almighty power and love created me making me in the image and likeness of God Glory be to the Son Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from hell and opened for me the gates of heaven Glory be to the Holy Spirit Who has sanctified me in the sacrament of Baptism and continues to sanctify me by the graces I receive daily from His bounty Glory be to the Three adorable Persons of the Holy Trinity now and forever Amen
When This is Over Laura Kelly Fanucci When this is over may we never again take for granted a handshake with a stranger conversations with neighbours a crowded theatre Friday night out the taste of Communion a routine check-up the school rush each morning coffee with a friend the stadium roaring each deep breath a boring Tuesday life itself When this ends may we find that we have become more like the people we wanted to be we were called to be we hoped to be And may we stay that way ndash better for each other because of the worst
A Prayer of Solidarity
For all who have contracted coronavirus We pray for care and healing For those who are particularly vulnerable We pray for safety and protection For all who experience fear or anxiety We pray for peace of mind and spirit For those who are facing difficult decisions We pray for policies that recognize their plight For our brothers and sisters around the world We pray for shared solidarity For public officials and decisionmakers We pray for wisdom and guidance Father during this time may your Church be a sign of hope comfort and love to all Grant peace Grant comfort Grant healing Be with us Lord Amen

In Paulrsquos letter (Second Reading) we hear how the early Christian community were encouraged to embody this Trinitarian loving relationship in how they lived and greeted one another As we consider the restrictions we have been living under may we truly value and cherish our bonds of friendship
