ABSTRACT

The New Quantum Physics: A Blend of Spirituality and Science

It is the intention of this work to elucidate the blending of spirituality and quantum

physics into a new model for the delivery of treatment services by healthcare and alternative

practicing professionals. Born out of out this author’s educational and life experiences as a

traditionally trained healthcare professional, this paper incorporates the viewpoints of traditional

physics, quantum physics and spirituality into a blended model for healthcare professionals to

consider while working with clients. Among the areas of discussion are the development of the

field of quantum physics, quantum energy and frequency interventions, the parallel development

of spirituality and the merging of both disciplines into a blended model for healthcare

professionals to utilize when performing their professional duties. The incorporation of two of

the leading treatment systems that blend both spirituality and quantum physics is presented to

provide existing examples of the possibilities that exist from the blending of spirituality and

quantum physics. The blending of these two separate disciplines has created an evolutionary

quantum leap in the treatment of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energetic frequency

imbalances and related concerns. Overall, this is a treatise designed to stimulate deeper inquiry

into the need for further future development of the blended model of spirituality and quantum

physics in order to insure the optimal efficacy of future professional treatment applications.

Introduction

The advent of the development of the field of quantum physics is ushering in a paradigm

shift in the science of physics that is dramatic and revolutionary. This paradigm shift has led to

many physicists re-examining their scientific understanding of their beliefs regarding the nature

of the universe and how it truly operates. In addition, this has created cognitive dissonance

among physicists as to how to translate and integrate this new scientific knowledge and

understanding into present day teaching and research activities. This new scientific model has

also been examined by theologians who have identified the similarities and commonalities

between quantum physics, theology and the spirituality associated with the worship of a deity.

The current innovative blending of contemporary spirituality and quantum physics supports their

transformative integration into a non-dualistic holistic system of theory and application.

The combination of spirituality and quantum physics appears to be an unlikely non-dualistic

based possibility. According to the dualistic approach, the believers in God and spirituality posit a

deistic view of the universe in comparison to the diametric beliefs that are espoused by the non-

deistic scientific, theory and research based believers. These views indicate the existence of two

very different views and beliefs regarding the origin of the universe and mankind and the resulting

world view each group holds (Merali, "Physics Of The Divine" 49-52). The non-dualistic

approach to understanding the universe combines these two diverse approaches into a single

comprehensive system of beliefs that incorporate God, spirituality, science and spirituality into

one philosophical, theoretical and dynamic system (McTaggart. Location 4150), Through-out

time, science and theology appear to have deliberately avoided each other with science being

within the purview of man and theology being within the purview of the clergy and the deity being

worshipped. And yet, there are instances of the interweaving of science with theology and

spirituality throughout history. These events began with the on-going historical scientific

developments of man in ancient civilizations that have subsequently contributed to our current

prevailing scientific and spiritual beliefs and practices. Among the marvelous discoveries

resulting from the scientific endeavors of quantum physicists are the concept of the quantum field

and how the field operates in a manner similar to how theology views God as being all knowing

and all omnipresent (Merali, "Physics of The Divine" 49). The similarity of these two differing

viewpoints elucidates the present seemingly daunting task that both quantum physicists and

theological and spiritual leaders have before them.

The merging of scientific thought with deistic thought and spiritual practices is one of the

pressing issues of mankind that requires immediate attention given the perilous status of our

current world sociopolitical milieu. The transition to a blended model of quantum physics,

incorporating both science and spirituality, will benefit mankind by providing a holistic emerging

view of both entities. In addition, the merging of these parallel views posits a new model for

exploration, research and subsequent development. The theoretical, social and functional

applications of the science of quantum physics, when combined with the merging of spiritual

tenets and beliefs, affords mankind a viable viewpoint and explanation of “what is” and “what is

not” within the realms of science and spirituality. This merging of science and spirituality affords

mankind unlimited possibilities and an expanded view of what God, nature and man have and are

co-creating together according to Divine Will (Merali, "The Priest-Physicist Who Would Marry

Science To Religion" . 52). The merging of science and spirituality has begun to occur with regard

to eastern religious beliefs and practices involving reincarnation and quantum physics (Goswami,

Physics of the Soul ix-xi). This merging of spirituality and quantum physics has thusly begun to

occur within both eastern and western religious tenets and practices which indicates that

theologians and clergy have identified the growing relationship between spirituality and science.

The potential transformative effect resulting from the blending of quantum physics with

spirituality offers a positive contributing possibility to mankind today that has, heretofore, not

existed. The thoughts, emotions, beliefs, intentions and expectations that are generated by the

merging of these two complimentary fields of human endeavor affords us the opportunity to

improve our lives, our families, our societies and our understanding of our world. For those

individuals with a spiritual perspective, it does appear that God has finally granted mankind the

access to under-standing the mysteries of life and to some of the answers to the universal questions

that man has asked throughout time that were previously unanswerable until now. It is now time for

man to take the quantum leap into the holistic world of spirituality and quantum physics. The

examination of these two systems of knowledge, wisdom and understanding will lead to the further

understanding of their relationship and application. The revelation that comes from this activity

will serve to further clarify their relationship so that the dualistic system that currently exists related

to these two will be shown to be invalid and outdated and will subsequently be replaced with the

non-dualistic system incorporating both spirituality and quantum physics. It is apparent that the

current accumulated scientific knowledge and research requires further inquiry and elucidation.

The impetus for conducting this research is to investigate the historical and current

relationship that exists between quantum physics and spirituality and to support the identification of

a new blended model combining these important fields of endeavor. The identification and

clarification of this new model will add to the body of knowledge that reveals the true nature of this

relationship. This process will promote the integrative non-dualistic views that have predominated

both fields for many years. The possibilities are endless for a dramatic shift in mankind and the

world when both quantum physics and spirituality are embraced as a combined positive entity that

facilitates change and increased mankind’s potential.

An Overview of Quantum Physics and Spirituality

The body of knowledge that constitutes quantum physics and spirituality is constantly

evolving. It now supports both a dualistic and non-dualistic view of these complimentary fields

of knowledge and expertise. The perception of quantum physics and spirituality as being

dualistic or non-dualistic in their nature and composition is an area of inquiry that requires

further investigation and clarification. There is an increasing examination of the relationship

between quantum physics and spirituality by professionals in both disciplines. It is important to

understand the basic knowledge, tenets and postulates of both systems prior to the consideration

and examination of their mutual meanings, concepts and application.

A Brief History of Quantum Physics

The development of the scientific basis for the field of standard physics and, subsequently,

quantum physics, initially originated in the 16th century with the light studies of Christian

Huygens and Isaac Newton. Both scientists proposed competing theories for the activity of light

with Huygens believing that light consisted of waves of various lengths while Newton believed

that light consisted of particles. The research of James Clerk Maxwell in the 1860’s proved that

visible light resulted from the transmission of light waves. The development of the Maxwell

equations provided a scientific explanation for light activity until the subsequent century when

scientific researchers revised the contemporary view of the transmission of light waves and their

activity (Hendricks 5). The research and application of traditional mechanistic physics beliefs,

tenets and theoretical constructs rests primarily with the work of Isaac Newton. This is most

noted in the current practice of traditional allopathic medicine that relies heavily upon the

mechanistic postulations of traditional physics. Newton’s theories and applications significantly

conflict with those of quantum physics (Gerber 39-41).

The foundation of the discipline known as quantum physics rests upon the work of Max

Planck that led to the revision of scientific thought and theory regarding the existence of energy

in the form of distinct packets called “quanta” that are non-reductionistic in nature (Frazer and

Massey 46). The work of Albert Einstein in 1905, establishing the existence of the photon and

the photoelectric effect, were other scientific achievements of significant importance in the field

of quantum physics (Hendricks 3-7). Other contributors to the scientific and theoretical

foundations for quantum physics include Erwin Schrodinger (mathematical equations), Werner

Heisenberg (mathematics), Nels Bohr (quantum particle effects) and Wolfgang Pauli (quantum

connectedness). Their contributions helped to advance the theoretical basis for general physics

and quantum physics. It is interesting to note that each of these researchers were also aware of

the deeper spiritual aspects of quantum physics even though they were classically trained

physicists. (McTaggart, Location 200).

The contemporary theoretical physics research and development activities of Fred Wolff

have served to bridge the gap between standard quantum physics and contemporary wave based

quantum physics (Wolff 19-27). The standard physics model is based on the centrality of the

photon in action and the revised wave theory postulates that scalar waves dominate reality and

that scalar wave activity is the basis for all connectedness and interaction in the absence of

proton activity and exchange (Fraser and Massey, Location 1086). This broadening of the

components and interaction of the quantum physics model and resulting processes appears to

have served as the impetus for further scientific research and exploration. The expansion of the

knowledge base and theoretical postulations of the evolving field of quantum physics has

significantly contributed to the myriad of possibilities that quantum physics offers to mankind.

Contemporary quantum physics utilizes mathematics to elucidate the relationship between

the observer and research events in which the observer influences the processes being observed

that alters the outcome of the research in the expected directions of the observer (Bartlett, The

Physics of Miracles 236). The current focus of quantum physics development includes a variety

of theoretical investigations into the contemporary aspects of quantum physics that have evolved

from scientific inquiry and research activity. These areas include “wave particle duality, quantum

tunneling, quantum entanglement, quantum optics, electrodynamics, unified field theory, black

body radiation, photoelectric effect, causality, superstring theory, and dark matter” (Hendricks i-

ii). These specialized areas of professional inquiry indicate that substantial strides have been

made in the field of quantum physics that have resulted in the identification of salient theoretical

aspects that heretofore were unknown.

The application of contemporary quantum physics knowledge is contributing to the

paradigm shift that is occurring in the field of physics. The modification of standard physics

beliefs has created a conundrum in the field of physics. The primary theory supporting standard

physics has been that of Newtonian physics that was postulated by Isaac Newton. Aspects of

these theories have been disproved by contemporary research. There is resistance in the

professional community to relinquish the long held beliefs that Newtonian physics is totally valid

and reliable. The new quantum physics incorporates a new paradigm of belief and application

that replaces most of the Newtonian physics theory and model (Gerber 39-44).

The possibilities that quantum physics affords mankind are too beneficial to be withheld

from the modern world. The teaching and scientific communities associated with the field of

physics are slowly evolving supporting the dispersion of quantum physics knowledge, theories

and applications within the world of professional physics. This blending of scientific knowledge,

beliefs and theories affords mankind the opportunity to determine how applicable this relatively

new and innovative field of science is in the ever changing world that mankind inhabits.

A Brief History of Spirituality

Spiritual practices and beliefs have been present, in one form or another, in every organized

civilization, since the advent of man. Spirituality is simply the quality of being spiritual.

Spirituality usually encompasses both spiritual beliefs and religion. The societal and culturally

based spiritual practices of various nations and civilizations, evidenced prior to the advent of

Christianity, evolved due to the increasing complexity of their spiritual belief systems and

practices. During this early time in man’s spiritual evolution and development, the evolving

science and spiritual knowledge and beliefs observed within a variety of cultures and

civilizations were often complimentary and intertwined. This contributed to a dualistic

explanation of the world and the events that occurred within the known realm of existence

(Merali, "Physics Of The Divine" 49-50). This dualistic view of spirituality and science

appeared to provide an acceptable framework of beliefs, principle and practices for each society.

As with the emerging scientific activity, spiritual beliefs and practices became organized and

were often the purview of societal members who devoted the entirety of their lives to the

prevailing spiritual beliefs and practices. The knowledge that embodied the spiritual beliefs and

practices of each culture and civilization was complimentary to the knowledge, beliefs and

practices of the prevailing scientific systems of each civilization at that point in mankind’s

development.

The general acceptance of the combined tenets and beliefs of spirituality and science

contributed to their emergence and growth in these early societies (Gerber 40-44). The rise of

Christianity, resulting from the birth and death of the Prophet Jesus, and the proselytizing by the

disciples, enhanced a new spiritual view of the world that increased the impact of spiritual beliefs

and practices in the respective societies that were affected by Christianity. The evolution of the

Bible, as the primary basis for Christianity, evolved after the death of the Prophet Jesus. During

the lifetime of Jesus, he reportedly worked as a carpenter and then became a minister when he

was thirty years old (Schmidt). The miracles that Jesus performed are well documented in the

Bible and in Christian teachings ((NASB, Luke. 4.31). The special abilities that Jesus utilized to

perform miracles and healings indicate the mastery of the supernatural, or perhaps, aspects of the

body of knowledge that is now becoming known as quantum physics (John. 6.1-14) (Merali,

"Physics Of The Divine" 51-52). The identified principles of quantum mechanics and physics

including the observer effect, consciousness, wave particle duality, unified field theory, quantum

entanglement, quantum optics and electrodynamics (QED) all have been utilized by Jesus in the

performance of miracles and healings (John. 6.15-21).

The current scientific knowledge regarding the functioning and operation of quantum

physics supports the likelihood that Jesus had knowledge of the universe and the laws and

principles of quantum physics even though these laws and principles were unknown at that time.

The numerous miracles and healings that Jesus performed indicate the possibility that he had the

knowledge and applied abilities to utilize the supernatural along with quantum physics to

accomplish the feats that are documented in the Bible. The majority of spiritual and religious

believers affirm the supernatural and spiritual viewpoint that Jesus was the Son of God and that

his abilities were a direct expression of his relationship with God (Matthew. 17.14-21). The

possibility that Jesus applied quantum physics knowledge and principles in the performance of

supernatural activities is in contradiction to existing religious and theological beliefs and tenets.

The examination of quantum physics principles, laws and theory reveals that the application of

what is known today as the science of quantum physics is within the realm of spiritual possibility

given what is currently known as quantum physics. From a spiritual perspective, it appears to be

entirely possible that man is now receiving the knowledge and understanding that Jesus knew

and utilized when the reported miracles and healings were performed. The advances in the fields

of spirituality and quantum physics are complimentary and supportive of the blended model of

spirituality and physics which can be traced back prior to the life of the Prophet Jesus and

forward to now. The miracles and healings performed by Jesus indicate that the blending of

spirituality, with what would later be labelled as quantum physics, offers a possible explanation

for the phenomena that occurred during the life of the Prophet Jesus (Merali, "Physics Of The

Divine" 49-52).

Since the time of the death of the Prophet Jesus, man has witnessed the ebb and flow of the

impact of spirituality in the various cultures and nations that have occupied the earth. The

reporting of perceived documented miracles and healings have occurred throughout the

millennium of time. Various spiritual systems and religions have evolved including Buddhism,

Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Judaism, to name a few. All of these religions and spiritual

systems purport to have legitimate origins, theological beliefs, dogma and spiritual and religious

rites that are unique. The development of these various religions and spiritual systems served to

advance the awareness of mankind and the subsequent participation in spiritual beliefs and

practices of each respective culture (Goswami, Physics of the Soul ix-x1). The continuing

adherence to spiritual principles and practices by all of the cultures and nations of the world

indicates that spirituality is a universal construct and experience that transcends all aspects of a

mankind.

The concept of spirituality has expanded beyond a religious context and has permeated all

aspects of our society. The practice of spirituality infiltrated into all areas of our lives including

healthcare, alternative therapies, healing modalities, stress management and relaxation practices,

to name a few (Schmidt). The commercialization of spirituality by religion and applied sciences,

such as psychology and psychiatry, has served to expedite the application of perceived spiritual

practices in all areas of our lives. This is likely not what was originally intended by past

generations but rather it is a reality of the times that currently exists. This apparent expansion of

spirituality and spiritual practices now has occurred due to the utilization of electronic means of

communication that have eliminated the barriers that previously existed in the distribution of

spiritual content, ideology and materials. The global access that spirituality enjoys has

transformed the media associated with programming associated with spirituality as has been

evidenced in television and internet programming including Trinity Broadcasting Network and

the programs associated with various spiritual leaders including Benny Hinn, Joel Osteen and Ed

Young, to name a few (Schmidt).

The Blending of Quantum Physics and Spirituality

The advent of modern science, starting in the 1600’s until present time, has revealed man’s

curiosity and interest in understanding and developing scientific inquiry and knowledge. The

parallel spirituality that historically encompassed man had a varying degree of impact upon the

identification and development of scientific inquiry and development. At times, in various

societies such as England and France, any wavering from the church or theological dogma or

teachings was considered to be heresy and was dealt with in the most punishing manner possible

(Lea, ch. V) .

The co-existence of spirituality and science improved over the centuries and currently a seeming

truce appears to be in force. Both entities tolerate each other and the differences between science

and spirituality are generally non-conflictual in nature and activities. The current status of

spirituality indicates that conflicts are becoming more pronounced between religious systems, at

times, that are increasing the likelihood of stricter boundaries and interpretations of religious

tenets and dogma in situations where apparent conflicts appear to be manifesting. This apparent

burgeoning conflict appears to be a spiritually and theologically related issue and has not

permeated the relationship between quantum physics and spirituality. It is likely that the parallel

nature of spirituality and quantum physics will remain the status quo in this situation for the

foreseeable future. The explanations offered by current leading quantum physicists embracing

the view that quantum physics and spirituality are intertwined have bridged a potential gap that

might have occurred between these two differing fields of study and endeavor.

The majority of people in the world acknowledge some form of spiritual belief and spiritual

practice. This has been the case throughout history and recorded time. The belief in spirituality

has impacted man in a positive manner throughout time. The blending of spirituality and

quantum physics represents the growing relationship between science and spirituality.

The challenges faced by spirituality and/or religion in our current society and world are

enormous. They are similar in some ways to the challenges being faced by quantum physics in

that both are somewhat misunderstood and stereotyped by the general population. The

acceptance of spirituality and quantum physics and their joint applications has been a continuing

challenge for both fields of endeavor. The utilization of electronic means of communication of

spirituality and quantum physics has eased some of the difficulties that have been encountered in

the efforts to disseminate the content and knowledge associated with each field of endeavor.

A Comparison of Quantum Physics and Spirituality

The historical perspective of spirituality and quantum physics reveals that each of these

fields of study and endeavor have similarities and differences. The introduction of spirituality

occurred shortly after mankind developed into groups and resulting civilizations. There has

always been an omnipresent need for a spiritually based belief system in each culture and

civilization that has existed throughout the millennium. The majority of spiritually based belief

systems incorporate a higher power or deity as a part of their spiritual beliefs and tenets. This

belief in a deity or higher power separates spirituality and science. This belief does not eliminate

the existence of science as an alternative system of explanation regarding physical phenomena

such as that which occurs in the field of quantum physics.

One widely adhered to explanation of the primary difference between spirituality and

quantum physics relates to the views of the observer related to the origin of the two entities.

Glendon Michael Schmidt, a theologian and Catholic Deacon, states that the spiritual basis for

the spirituality view is one that espouses that God created everything and everything is God”

(Schmidt). This view is consistent with standard Protestant beliefs about the existence of God as

a living God that is interacted with by mankind on a daily basis. This is one of the basic

postulates of theology and spirituality and is widely held in the world today. The view of the

science of quantum physics is very different than the spiritual view but has some similarities as

well. According to quantum physics, there exists a quantum energy field that is universal and

connects all matter in the field. It has been proven that certain beliefs, intentions and emotional

energy frequencies afford a reciprocal interaction with the field (McTaggart, Location 232).

This interaction with the quantum field provides the basis for participation in the energy field on

a positive and reciprocal basis. This affords the observer the opportunity to focus their attention

and emotion onto a specific thought and/or emotion which leads to the fulfillment of the

energetic connection that is being sought.

The Unified Energy Field (UEF) is one of the foundations for quantum physics and is

similar to the spiritual views promulgated by the spiritual community. The operation of the

Unified Energy Field proceeds in accordance with the laws of quantum physics which result in

similar outcomes for the user of the quantum energy. Both the spiritual and quantum physics

views incorporate the concept of consciousness when explaining the operation of both systems.

The concept of consciousness is espoused related to the spiritual practices of prayer and

meditation. With regard to quantum physics, consciousness relates significantly to the interaction

that occurs between an individual and the quantum field. The ability to control consciousness

and to focus energy to connect with the Unified Energy Field is a significant aspect of energy

field theory (McTaggart, Location 590). These identified concepts serve as a significant portion

of the basis for the similarities between quantum physics, field theory and spirituality.

The beliefs of the observer and participant influence the interactional outcomes that occur

in relation to both the spiritual and quantum physics viewpoints. The observer effect has been

demonstrated to exist in both spiritual and quantum physics contexts (Hendricks 48). The

observer effect has been demonstrated to alter the outcome of events, experiments and

interactions in a variety of situations and circumstances. The focusing of attention onto a

particular activity or event changes the outcome of the interaction based on observer bias,

observer intention and belief (Peirce 73). The impact of spirituality and quantum physics upon

the observer effect indicates that mankind plays an active role in the experiences that are

perceived and interacted with on a moment by moment basis. It is important to develop an

awareness of this phenomena so that maximum participation can be obtained while engaging in

this type of activity. Most often, observational activities are not within the realm of personal

awareness and occur without any conscious focus on the part of the observer. Critical perceptual

moments are missed that alter the possibilities that exist on a moment to moment basis.

The spiritual approach utilizes the practicing of spiritual faith as the means to obtain the

optimal outcomes in life in accordance with God and the spiritual plan that exists for mankind.

The quantum physics approach reveals that mankind and the quantum energy field are the co-

creators of existence. The spirituality approach utilizes God and mankind as the co-creators of

existence. These two belief systems are not mutually exclusive and can interact to create a

unique and quality life experience for mankind.

The Multidimensional Paradigm Shift

A new paradigm and understanding of man’s existence is forthcoming from the merging of

these two fields of endeavor that complement one another. There is evidence of a burgeoning

positive paradigm shift that is currently occurring related to spirituality and quantum physics.

This paradigm shift is reflected in the self-help movement, in metaphysical practices, in spiritual

practices, in the new age spirituality that is increasingly popular, in the Nutri-Energetics System

(NES) that is based upon quantum physics principles and theory, in the alternative healing

modalities such as Reiki and Matrix Energetics and in the openness and willingness of mankind

to embrace alternative treatments (Fraser and Massey 3) and (Bartlett, The Physics of Miracles

18). These various self help and treatment approaches often combine spiritual and quantum

physics beliefs and methods and offer efficacious outcomes for the participant. The blending of

spiritual and quantum physics into cohesive self-improvement and treatment approaches affords

optimal solutions for mankind’s attempts to improve the quality of life, to increase the life span

and to provide optimal health and well-being. There are numerous applications and systems that

have combined spirituality and quantum physics that include electronic and energetic frequency

approaches as a holistic approach to life improvement.

The on-going development of quantum physics has influenced scientific thought and

research to embrace the possibilities that quantum physics offers to all the institutions in our

society and in the world at large. Within the spiritual realm, leading theologians, including

Michael Beckwith, Joel Osteen and Benny Hinn have all developed spiritual materials that

incorporate basic quantum physics information. These include co-creating the present and

future, focusing upon the desired outcome that is being sought and using intention and related

prayer to facilitate change and to obtain a desired outcome. The transformation of quantum

physics knowledge and related research discoveries into viable applications that are utilized by

mankind represents the culmination of several centuries of scientific inquiry. With the advent of

technological advances, there has been an exponential growth and related increase in the

scientific methods and processes that are required to bring new quantum physics based theories

and applications to mankind (Fraser and Massey 36-54). The resulting quantum energy based

applications have positively contributed to the further development of health and well-being

being experienced by mankind. The full extent of the possibilities yielded by quantum physics

are not yet fully understood and known at the present time. The evolving paradigm shift that is

occurring has served to increase mankind’s awareness of the environment and has served to

increase the efficacy of mankind’s efforts to successfully apply quantum physics principles and

applications in daily life.

The True Origins of Quantum Physics and Spirituality

The prevailing view of the origin of spirituality and quantum physics is considered to be

God and man with regard to spirituality and man with regard to quantum physics. This dualistic

view dominated scientific and religious thought for many centuries in most of the nations of the

accurate feedback to the healthcare system and to healthcare providers participating in the

system (Policano). The application of personal responsibility further includes participation in

social and grassroots organizations whose goals and objective mirror those held by those desiring

to become empowered. There are numerous groups advocating for improved healthcare, changes

in healthcare and for new healthcare options. Given the nature of electronic media at this time,

this internet electronic portal exists for the further exploration of the salient issues that must be

addressed in order for transformative healthcare development and change to alter the present

dysfunctional healthcare system.

The most important aspect of personal responsibility is active participation in the

monitoring and treatment of personal health issues. The limitations created by disease, illness

and imbalance serve to limit the energy, mental and emotional resources and the motivation to

participate in personal healthcare activities. The critical aspect of personal healthcare is the

receiving of quality healthcare and following the advice of all treatment professionals. The

personal efficacy created by empowered healthcare system participation leads to optimal health

and personal resources improve the quality of life and lead to a longer life span. There has been

a past differential in which women have more fully and effectively utilized the healthcare

system. This has led to more women outliving men in the overall society. Personal

responsibility dictates personal awareness and follow through on healthcare related issues

both sexes (Williams).

The spiritual aspects of personal responsibility are as important as the various forms of

personal responsibility previously mentioned. According to the Bible, we are all made in the

image of God. Most organized religions believe that the body is an instrument of God’s will and

must be taken care of to perform God’s duties that have been given to man. Mankind was also

given free will which allows mankind to act on personal volition and not always in accordance

with God’s will. The ability of mankind to have free will presents the element of choice which

ultimately means that mankind will sin and make mistakes and not act in accordance with Divine

Will (Schmidt). The blended model incorporating both spirituality and quantum physics provides

a platform for God and man to interact and for the Holy Spirit to positively impact mankind in a

new and positive way (Williams). The interaction of spirituality in the provision of healthcare is

critically important in the healing process (Bartlett, Matrix Energetics 56).

The intertwining of spirituality and quantum physics offers a robust blended model for

medicine, alternative therapies and healing modalities. The general acceptance of some form of

spirituality in the broader culture is predominate. The quantum leap from spirituality to the

blended model is less difficult with the incorporation of spiritual principles and constructs as a

part of the holistic evaluation and treatment model promulgated by the various available

alternative energetic healing systems. The inclusion of spiritual principles and constructs

provides a spiritual bridge for the blending of spirituality and quantum physics. The concept of a

higher power permits the spiritually inclined believers to more readily accept the current blended

energy evaluation and treatment systems within the broader spiritual context. The parallel nature

of spirituality and quantum physics promotes their utilization in many arenas of professional

religions which enhances the incorporation of prayer into a variety of healing activities

The involvement of spirituality in the blended model of spirituality and quantum physics

can be increased and promoted through prayer, meditation and mindfulness activities. The

application of spiritual practices in daily living serves to promote calmness and a feeling of

connection with God. The regular practice of prayer, meditation and mindfulness open up the

spiritual centers (chakras) and access to archangels (Policano). This type of spiritually supported

lifestyle promotes health, healing and happiness. The possibilities and hope that spiritual

practices provide reduce healthcare utilization and increases feelings of well-being and personal

satisfaction (Schmidt). The inclusion of spirituality and religion is noted in all the faith based

healthcare systems and programs that currently exist (Schmidt). The utilization of prayer and

religious practices in these healthcare systems is on a limited basis and ordinarily does not blend

spirituality with any particular applied science,

The blended model of spirituality and quantum physics offers a viable model for

encapsulating spirituality with science in a realistic, ethical and functional prototype for future

application. The apparent success of this blending process has led to the development of

futuristic and efficacious evaluation and treatment programs and systems that are improving the

quality of life for mankind on a daily basis. There has also been a collateral effect in academic

settings where more research studies are being conducted by quantum physicists to validate the

theories of quantum physics and to expand their application into other areas of application

including military applications, industrial applications, engineering applications and space and

travel applications (Doise). The current leaps and bounds that are being evidenced in computer

productivity of mankind. The advent of informational technology has created a worldwide

CONCLUSION

The development of traditional physics and spirituality occurred over the course of several

centuries. The subsequent development of quantum physics has occurred during the last two

centuries and was hampered by the limited Newtonian views of physics that have dominated the

field since the inception of the science of physics. The quantum leap that has occurred in the

development of quantum physics has spurred the onset of various applications that are based in

both quantum physics and spirituality. The development of a more flexible approach to under-

standing the science of physics has been slow to appear in the physics profession.

The advent of spiritual thought and teachings began with the dawn of mankind on this

planet. The development of spirituality has been heavily influenced by the resulting religions that

developed along with spirituality. The limitations of the various religions result from mankind’s

interpretation of the religious tenets, beliefs and postulations that underlie that particular religion.

The significant influence of religious leaders throughout the ages served to bias the spirituality

that existed that concomitantly existed with the prevailing religions or without being attached to

a specific religious entity. The evolution of spirituality into a more flexible less dogmatic belief

system has served to expand the possibilities that exist for spirituality to co-exist peacefully with

science. The initial development of dualistic scientific and spiritual belief systems served to

separate science from spirituality and vice versa. The development of scientific and spiritual

thought and related applications brought science and spirituality together in an unintentional way

that has yielded the development of the blended model of spirituality and quantum physics.

The efficacy of the blended model of the science of quantum physics and spirituality has

been fully demonstrated by the development of quantum physics based evaluation and treatment

applications that incorporate spirituality in the evaluation and treatment process. This

development of professional treatment applications represents the optimal merging of science

and spirituality as demonstrated by the utilization and efficacy of the delineated professional

applications. The possibilities that exist from the identification of the blended model of quantum

physics and spirituality are boundless. The only limitations that truly exist are those super

imposed upon these disciplines by mankind. The same genius and intellectual curiosity that co-

created the fields of quantum physics and spirituality exists at this time in the world. In addition,

the spiritual viewpoint incorporates the active participation of a vibrant and available God who

has supported mankind thus far in the development of these two important fields of knowledge.

The blended model of quantum physics and spirituality is a viable and growing model for

mankind to replicate, add on to and to use as a beneficial tool for improved living, health, vitality

and collective consciousness raising in the world. This model assures the on-going development

of quantum tools and applications that will continue to add to the quality of life. The blended

model is one vantage point from which to look at science, spirituality and mankind through a

positive forward moving lens that will deter the myopia of past generations during the centuries

who failed to grasp the significance of what was available. The world is seeking increasing

hedonism and pleasure while sacrificing self, health and well-being in order to experience

momentary pleasures and gains that are short lived and under fulfilling. The combined quantum

physics and spirituality model offers an opportunity to improve the quality of life and existence

and to elevate the consciousness, beliefs and intentions of mankind which will ultimately benefit

the entire planet. The positing of the blended model is an attempt to inform mankind about the

special relationship that has developed between quantum physics and spirituality which will

hopefully result in the continued merger of these fields of endeavor into a recognized life style

that will be embraced by many of the cultures on the planet. What happens in the future remains
