March has been a very busy month for the Tebala Divan members.
The first week of March our Recorder, Mark Torrance attended the
Recorder’s Seminar in California
Our Assistant Rabban, Les McClelland attended the Seminar for Assis-
tant Rabbans in Florida.
We’re hoping to hear that they came back with wonderful new ideas to
help Tebala grow.
We had two board meetings and a monthly temple meeting. Planning
meetings for the Circus which will be at the Rockford Speedway on
July 17 – 18 and 19.. Divan members attended 3rd degrees at Roscoe
and Belvidere lodges. The St. Patrick’s Day dinner was very well at-
tended.
The Divan attended the installation of officers of Alabet Temple Daughters of the Nile when Phyllis Cain
was crowned Queen. A special Thank you to the ladies from Alabet who handled the serving of food at
the Shrine installation.
The Chicago Shrine Hospital for Children had a seminar for Divan members that was very informative
and well attended. Members of the Divan represented Tebala at the Potentate’s Balls for Medinah Temple
and Ainad Temple in O’Fallon, Illinois.
I want to thank all the members of Tebala’s Divan for their willingness to travel and support Tebala
Shrine.
Upcoming events include the Tebala Family Easter Egg Hunt on April 5th.
Tebala Monthly meeting on April 15th.
Remember the ceremonial on April 18th where we will be honoring our 50 year members.
Candidates are needed – if you know any interested Masons bring their petitions.
Vidalia Onions are coming – this is one of our biggest fund raisers.
May 8th is the Mother’s Day dinner – bring your mother – your grandmother - your children’s mother.
May 23rd is the trip to Medieval Times for dinner and a fantastic show.
Please call the office with your reservations.
Yours In The Faith,
Lawrence R. Keyser

INCOME TAX TIME!
I didn’t mean to startle you but you better
file on time or???
Recent trips to the P.O. Box have not
produced any dues for 2015. It’s okay to
be late with dues (but not income tax).
Just send $10.15 to the address at the end
of this edition. The same trips have
resulted in receiving several invitations to
participate in the upcoming parade
season. Our Pin-master is carefully
reviewing these invitations. Soooo, shine
your shoes—
be prepared. Hot Pavement—Cold
Refreshments. Are you ready?
SPECIAL APRIL STUFF:

DID YOU KNOW???
On April 1, 1915, in the midst of World
War 1, a French aviator flew over a
German and dropped what appeared to be
a bomb. The German soldiers
immediately scattered in all directions,
but no
explosion followed. After some time, the
soldiers crept back and gingerly
approached the bomb. They discovered it
was actually a large football with a note
tied to it that read, “April Fool!”

PONDER A WHILE:”
Plans are worthless, but planning is every-
thing.
A man travels the world over in search of
what he needs and returns home to find it.
You don’t have to be great to start, but
you have to start to be great.
Now and then it’s good to pause in our
pursuit of happiness and just be happy.
It is easy to sit up and take notice. What
is difficult is getting up and taking action.
If your actions inspire others to dream
more, learn more, do more and become
more, you are a leader.

Do not go where the path may lead, go
instead where there is no path and leave a

Enjoy the little things, for one day you
may look back and realize they were the

Q. What are two things you can
never eat for breakfast?
A. Lunch and dinner
Q. What’s the difference between
a duck and George Washington?
A. One has bill on his face; the
other has his face on a bill.
LAUGH A LITTLE TIME!
FUN WITH FOOD
My friend, celebrating a special
occasion, went to a restaurant and ordered
what she thought would be a lobster tail.
But to her dismay, the entire crustacean
was on her plate. “He’s looking right at
me!” she exclaimed to the waiter. “I just
can’t eat him.”
The waiter removed her plate, but
returned it a few moments later. The lob-
ster now had a blindfold neatly tied around
its eyes.
A CROTCHETY OLD MAN
A crotchety old man told his wife
he would did himself out of his grave and
come back to haunt her if she didn’t live a
quiet, sober live after he died. “I’ll claw
my way back up and torment you,” he
said. After he died she went out dancing
and drinking and laughing every night.
“Aren’t you afraid your husband will dig
himself out of his grave and come back to
haunt you?” a friend asked. “Oh, no,” the
wife said. “Let him dig, I buried him
upside down.”
FERTILIZER
A farmer was driving along the
road with a load of fertilizer. A little boy,
playing in front of his house, saw him and
called, “What’ve you got in your truck?”
“Fertilizer.” The farmer replied.
“What are you going to do with
it?” asked the little boy.
“Put it on strawberries,” answered
the farmer.
“You ought to live here,” the little
boy advised him. “We put sugar and
cream on ours.”
IT’S TRUE TEACHER
“Johnny, where’s your
homework?” The teacher said sternly to
the little boy while holding out her hand.
“My dog ate it,” was his
solemn response.
“Johnny, I’ve been a teacher for
eighteen years. Do you really expect me to
believe that?”
“Yes Mam! It’s true! I swear!”
insisted Johnny. “I had to force him, but
he ate it!”
THE PONY EXPRESS
At a Milwaukee post office, a
woman complained to the clerk that a Pony
Express rider could get a letter from Mil-
waukee to St. Louis in two days, and now
it takes three. “I’d like to know why,” she
scoffed.
The clerk thought about it for a
moment, then his face brightened and he
replied, “The horses are a lot older now?”

I just want to start off by saying how proud I am to be your 2015 High Priest &
Profit, and along with the rest of your Divan, we are dedicated to helping the
nobles of Tebala meet and exceed the expectations of our fraternity. I ask all of
us, what do you want Tebala’s legacy to be? And what are you prepared to do
to contribute to it?
Tebala was chartered in 1894, and has had much success over the years . Our
Past Potentates, as well as our current officers, and our club and unit leaders
have a wealth of information to make our journey a memorable one. Tebala has
many valuable positions available to help the families and children of our com-
munities, and many opportunities may only need a hour of time periodically Get people involved. Ask
them to help you with something, or suggest something they might like to join. Let’s work together as one,
side by side making small work of big challenges. Our 2015 Potentate Lawrence Keyser is dedicated to
guide us through the maze to success, just as his motto states: Freemasonry and Shrinedom United. So let’s
take our great ideas, and work together, encouraging those that have talents to help and lead, and at the
end of the day we can proudly say “We Did It!” Keep petitions handy for when you meet men who are like
-minded with a heart for service, just as we are, to take the journey side by side with us.
I wish you well,
Jerry Minor

DUES DUES DUES Want to end that annual bill from TEBALA?
Tebala is excited to offer this program. As technology grows, life is sometimes made simpler for all
of us. AUTOPAY is a great way to get rid of that annual dues notice. With a onetime signature and authori-
zation from you we will automatically charge your card one time a year, every October when we are mailing
dues cards. This will be done manually and securely and doesn’t have that risk of sending card numbers over
the internet.
We have for some time offered Nobles the ability to pay with plastic, but in a way to make it more
convenient for you we can keep track o when your payment is due and make it with your approved credit
card. This is an optional program it is not required that you do this.
Tebala sends in excess of 1,100 dues notices each fall at $0.49 each just for postage not including the
envelope letter printing and administrative cost; then you spend the same to return a payment and we spend it
again to mail your card. The auto pay method for those choosing will have a $2.00 fee for the transaction.
Tebala spends $0.49 to mail your dues card and receipt for the card transaction, that simple. This program has
been very successful in many Temples throughout North America and with your help it will be very success-
ful here.
If you would like to participate in this program, and have not already signed up, please fill out the
form below and return it to the Tebala Temple office.
