Stewardship
A Way of Life
This Week’s Readings
Elijah recognized the voice of God not in the strong and heavy wind, not in the earthquake and not in the fire, but in a tiny whispering sound. May we find enough quiet in our clamorous world to hear His voice and discern what He is calling us to do and be.
Living Stewardship
We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who spend time in faith-filled prayer, compassionate service and generous sharing so that they grow in their understanding and practice of stewardship.
Sharing One’s Material Resources in the Parish
Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Monday - after 9:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Masses

After the 9:00 a.m. Mass each Monday through Saturday in the Cathedral except on
First Saturday when it is recited at 8:30 a.m. All are welcome.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
You are invited to join us each Friday for some quiet reflection and prayer in the Holy Cross Chapel following the 9:00 a.m. Mass concluding with
Benediction at 3:00 p.m.

Religious Education Registration for 2017-2018
Anyone with a child entering 1st grade in September should have registered for our Level 1 Religious Education class. If not, please do so as soon as possible in the Religious Education Office on the first floor of the Ministry Building. Please bring a copy of your child’s baptism certificate and your checkbook. Those children who have been enrolled in religious education in a different parish must obtain a transfer letter from the previous parish. Those already in our program received an update form in early July.
The Religious Education office is open on Mondays from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information please call our office at (516) 678-2306 or e-mail [email protected].
Attention Students Attending Brother Fox Latin School
Do you have a child who attends the Brother Fox Latin School? If so, you need to register with the Religious Education Office in order that we have all the information for your child in our system. If your child already attended St. Agnes Religious Education in the past you simply need to call or e-mail to let us know he or she is attending Brother Fox. If your child transferred to Brother Fox from St. Agnes School, you need to come in and fill out a form and bring a copy of your child’s baptism certificate. There is no charge for Brother Fox students since they are not attending religious education classes. We need all this information in our files, especially when the child enters 7th and 8th grade and is preparing for Confirmation.
Volunteer Catechists Needed
We need your help for the 2017-2018 Religious Education year. We especially need catechists in levels 6, 7 & 8. Level 6 meets weekly on Tuesdays at 5:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and Levels 7 & 8 meet approximately every other week on Mondays or Tuesdays at 7:00-8:30 p.m. Training is provided. Catechists must fill out a volunteer form and participate in a VIRTUS workshop on protecting children against abuse. Please call our office at (516) 678-2306 or e-mail [email protected]. Our children need you to help them learn our faith!
