An important day on two calendars:

As we come to this Sunday, June 18, the secular calendar observes this as a day to honor all fathers. On this day then, we join in extending prayerful good wishes to all fathers, including grandfathers, godfathers, step-fathers and second fathers, may all those upon whom you shower your fatherly care – appreciate the many sacrifices you glady make to do so as they surround you with honor and affection this day!

On the calendar that guides our church year – today is the feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, a day to renew and deepen our belief in Christ, truly and fully present as promised in the Eucharist under the appearances of bread and wine. May this spiritual food continue to be effective in transforming us into what we consume here each Sunday, the Body of Christ, so that through us the Lord may be present and active in the community in which we worship and the wider one in which we live!

The Christ the King Knights of Co-lumbus Council 13388 will conduct their Third Blood Drive of the year on Monday, June 19th from 12 noon to 6 PM in the Parish Hall.

We encourage all who are able, to con-sider giving the gift of life.

Remember, every pint of blood do-nated to Cape Cod Healthcare stays on Cape Cod to serve your commu-nity and save the lives of your family, friends, and neighbors.

The Summer is here, the dress for all business and council meetings will be summer casual for the months of July and August.

If you are traveling and a Brother Knight, feel free to come to one of our council meetings. You will always have an open mic to share your councils activities and share fellowship.

We are also having, once again, open en-rollment for council 13388. Any young man 18 years and older, is welcome to join. If you are a college-bound student, why not start the school year off right, by joining one of the largest and best national and international Fraternities with 2 million brothers world wide. No matter where you travel to school, there will always be a helping brother to lend you a hand, a safe harbor whenever needed.

As a parent with a student away from home or abroad, I would feel some com-fort in that.

As a father, how wonderful to be able to share this wonderful experience of the Knights of Columbus with your sons. A way to stay connected.

And, wives and mothers, don’t forget, a K of C application for enrollment for your husband or son, makes a wonderful birhday or Father’s Day gift! A gift the whole family can be part of. A gift that keeps on giving.

As always, the Knights reminds everyone to please pray the rosary for the unborn and their Mothers.

Have a Safe Summer and God Bless you all

Dr. Paul Stebenne, Grand Knight

A Pro-Life Prayer

God of all goodness, you have entrusted us with the gift of life.

Help us to appreciate that gift from the first moments of conceptionto the last breath of old age.

Send your strength to all those who defend the unborn, the weak, and the dying against attempts to cut short their lives.

May your Hoy Spirit touch the heartsof those who are tempted to choose the way of death rather than life.

Grant that your people may always be a sign of your love in the world. Amen.

I am the living breadthat came down from heaven, says the Lord;whoever eats this breadwill live forever.
