  • HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH

    Letter from our Pastor

Dear Friends, Merry Christmas to all! We sing it in song; we proclaim it in word—this special “joy to the world.” We cele-brate the fact that our savior has been born among us! What does it all mean? On this feast of the Holy Family, what did it mean to Mary and Joseph? This birth meant the world to them! They were a couple who undoubtedly went through many tests and trials along the way; they were people of little means, who barely had a place to stay, yet they welcomed the child with love. He was the real gift that first Christmas day, wrapped not in fancy paper but in swaddling clothes. So, as we celebrate Christmas, we celebrate the birth of our savior—but also the lessons he taught us: That the poor matter, and deserve our care and attention; That despite our sins and selfishness, Christ will come to us; That we all need this savior, who can show us the real gifts in our lives; That even in the darkest places, we need never feel alone; That we can be ambassadors of welcome, reminding all we meet that they are not alone, that love has been born in our midst. Peace and Blessings this Christmas, to you and yours! Father Tom

A word of thanks… THANK YOU to all who donated gift cards for our Advent Giving this year. It gave special joy to oth-ers in need this Christmas season.

  • Thank you to all who contributed to our Christmas Flowers this year!

    Sanctuary update

When we introduced the new tabernacle into the sanctuary of the church, it required some other adjustments, including the elevation of the statue (to locate the tabernacle underneath it) and shifting the presider’s chair to the side. Actually, we were told by the construction crew that it was fortunate that we moved the statue now, since it had become loose over time. It may well have come crashing down if it was jarred or dusted with too much force! So there was some minor inconvenience, but we hope that by this weekend everything is secure and in a fitting place for both our celebration of the Eucharist and for devotional prayer before the Blessed Sacrament at other times. Thank you for your patience.
