Eternal God, whom the heavens cannot contain, you have
chosen as your tabernacle the womb of Mary, the Virgin of
Nazareth.!
Overshadow us with your power, form us as your
daughters and sons and knit us together as your holy
people according to your word.!
For you nothing is impossible and so we offer you our
prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, who was, who is and
who is to come, your Son, who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.!
“Moses built the house, yet did not complete it and went
away. Then God raised up the choir of prophet by his spirit,
and they built on the foundation of Moses, but could not
complete it and also went away. All of them, through the
spirit, say that the wound was insurable, and that none of
the creatures was able to heal it, except the Only begotten,
the very Mind of the father, and His very Image.”!

A Memory of Midnight Mass!
When I was eight or nine years old my parents, my brother and I began attending Christmas Midnight Mass. For me this was always something very special and a memorable departure from our usual Christmas practice. When I was even younger, my parents would put my brother and I to bed by 9pm or so on Christmas Eve, then they would invite their adult friends over for a tree!trimming and toy!assembling party that would last until well past midnight. Santa Clause would arrive following their party and well before my brother and I woke up.
But Midnight Mass offered something on Christmas Eve which was very different, yet particularly warm, very welcoming and always uplifting. There was something very special about going out late at night in New York City with my family. There were Christmas lights everywhere; in apartment windows, on storefronts, even over street lamps. When there was snow on the ground at Midnight, the City was unusually quiet, creating an imaginary, almost magical, scene for a place like New York. When we arrived at Church, we were surrounded by the warmth of people and the warmth of images of our faith. The Church was always decorated beautifully from top to bottom. Even though many of my friends from school would also come to Midnight Mass, I had no desire to talk and play. At Midnight on Christmas Eve, the Church was more of a sacred space than at any other time of the year. The music was affirming. The songs celebrated shared traditions and accentuated the holiness and the joy of the Season. Prayer at Midnight Mass was rich and expressive in its images. My family always left Church rejoicing, filled in body and spirit.
Christmas Midnight Mass has not changed in all the years of my life. New York has changed. The mood of the City has certainly changed. However, the sacredness and the beauty of a congregation coming together in prayer at Midnight to celebrate the Savior’s birth remains a memorable experience. At Midnight we believers create a Sacred Space which the outside world is unable to touch and in which we do what Christians have done continuously for 2000 years: We Rejoice in Our God!!
Merry Christmas

LECTURAS, REFLEXIONES Y ORACIONES!

ATENCIÓN A TODOS LOS PARROQUIANOS!! REFLEJO!
conforme a tu palabra.!

imagen." San Antonio de Egipto!
