A School-Based Behavioral Health Program at the Public Schools of Petoskey

The Petoskey Wellness Program

Providing supportwhere you need it. The Petoskey Wellness Program assists children and teens gain confidence and learning strategies to be more successful in and out of the classroom. The school-based behavioral health program is operated by Alcona Health Center in collaboration with the Public Schools of Petoskey. With parental/guardian permission, our licensed clinical social workers and counselors offer individual, group, and family therapy conveniently located in your child’s school for easy access.

How can we help?Is your child:

f Experiencing mood changes such as anxiety or depression that are out of the ordinary?

f Having difficulty staying on task, following directions, and getting into disagreements with others?

f Not getting along with his teachers and peers?

f Experiencing relationship issues, family or school stress?

The Petoskey Wellness Program has immediate openings to serve your child and family.Operated by the Alcona Health Center in collaboration with the Public Schools of Petoskey, services are confidential. Public and private health insurance companies will be billed for services provided. A sliding fee payment scale is also offered. No child will be turned away for inability to pay.

Studies show that students who participate in school-based behavioral health programs have significantly less disciplinary issues, enjoy better mental

health and, not surprisingly, perform better in school.
