The vocational courses are timetabled for 6 periods per w eek.English, maths, science and languages are core, as is a vocational course from the 6 period blocks. There is an extension programme w ith periods of50 minutes each. Some are compulsory, others optional unless students have opted for specif ic examination programmes. egs:If Triple science has been chosen, students take an additional period in block 9A, For Travel & Tourism as the vocational programme, students take the vocational language in block 9B toprovide an additional, related qualif ication. English and maths have been allocated an addditional 50 minute period per w eek compared w ith the Y10 allocationon sheet 1 [2005]. This is to help improve student achievement in these subjects as ACLC takes on its Vocational Specialism.
