It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. It’s a new life for me and I am feeling

good. Each day passes. There is one thing that you cannot catch for sure and that is time. People spend their days without doing anything that they can remember the next day. What have you done in the last few days, few weeks? Have you done anything that you are grateful that

you did and grateful that you started in the past and not tomorrow. There is a famous saying “Mongolia’s tomorrow will never end.” People put off their work thinking “Ahh, I will do it later, it will be all fine.” Believe me when I say this, start today and your future self-will be glad that you have done something productive today. Students, start

working on your project that is due next week. Teachers, start grading those papers that your students are anxiously waiting for. Time slips by us whether we like it or not. But we can choose to start doing something productive now. Get going people.

Many students are often busy going through pile

of homework stacking up on the desk every week. While it is important to

keep up with your studies, it is also important to

make sure that you don’t get to miss out on the

amazing opportunities that your university can provide for you

outside of campus. Even outside of Mongolia! MIU offers amazing

life experiences, lasting friendships and learning

through Exchange Student Program, (ESP) and

Vision Trip.

Some of the benefits of these programs include: 1) Experiencing life in another country: Many past ESP students agree that living in another country for a semester or few weeks is an eye opening experience.

2) Expanding your language skills: While MIU offers all English courses and English speaking environment, many students speak their native language outside of university. Why not immerse yourself in another language and develop your skills in a foreign environment?

3) Building your resume: Going abroad will most certainly net you huge amounts of life experiences. New perspectives that you acquire and your willingness to overcome unexpected difficulties will look great to your future employers! 4) Cost: While Vision Trip program does require students to come up with their expenses, ESP only requires you to pay your standard tuition. While you do have to pay for airplane tickets and extra living cost, Korean government has wide range of exchange scholarships that can help you lower these costs.

All of these benefits sound great right? Can’t wait to go? Great! However, there is one problem. Since Korean universities can only accept limited number of students from MIU, there is often a fierce competition on who gets to go and who doesn’t. Therefore, the deciding factor, other than GPA, is the interview. Here are some vital interview tips to help you get started on your journey.

1) What is your GPA? When we send our students to Korea, we carefully select our applicants, because those students represent MIU. Right off the bat, the easiest way to know if you are an outstanding student or not is by looking at your GPA. A student with 4.0 GPA will most certainly have an advantage over a student with 2.5 GPA. What if you are at 3.5 GPA? Well, that just means

that you have to work a bit more on why YOU need to go and not the other student with 4.0 GPA. Try to think of reasons on why you deserve to go more than others. Have you always dreamed of going to Korea? Do you plan on going to graduate school in Korea? Do you have business aspirations that have connection to Korea? Let us know during the interview.

2) Proper interview etiquettes Proper interview etiquettes include things like the way you dress, the tone of your voice, the way you sit, sincerity in your answers and honesty. I have seen too many students who dress too casually or show lack of respect for the interview. This shows that the student does not care about the interview or its results. Next is honesty. Telling us what we WANT to hear does not put you in an advantage over someone who is completely honest about themselves and is not afraid to show it. After conducting many interviews, it’s quite easy to tell if what you are saying is true or not. Make sure these BASIC things are considered before you go to any interviews.

3) Tell me about yourself.During the interview, we are looking for a brief summary about you and interested in hearing about your educational background. Try to sum up your educational and social background in about 1 minute and ensure that you can make connections between your background and the program you are interviewing for.

4) What do you know about the school/country that you are applying to?

You may not know much about the university or country you are considering, but make sure you have researched them. You don’t need to know everything about Korea or the university, but you should be able to discuss the basics. Find out what courses are offered for your major, which city the university is in, what the university is famous for, etc. Researching recent events of the university or past experiences of

ESP or VT students is a good place to start. Not having any answers to questions that may potentially come up during the interview about the country or university can be the devastating.

4) What makes you a good candidate for the program?

After covering the basic things such as educational background, and social or life experiences, you may also want to include some personal characteristics. For example, your motivation, your willingness to work hard for your goals, or getting along with many different types of people etc. However, don’t just simply list all the positive attributes. What we are really interested in is how you demonstrate these skills or characteristics. Instead of just saying “I am motivated”, provide actual examples of what you do that makes you believe that you are motivated.

5) How does ESP or VT help your goals for the future? And finally, during the interview, we want to know how these programs relate to what you hope to do in the future, because it’s a sign that you WILL be motivated to work hard while you are away. Talk about your future plans and explain how these programs would help you achieve these plans.

Exchange Student Program and Vision Trip program often create long lasting life experiences, and the interview is the first step in achieving these valuable experiences. Make sure you are prepared for the interviews by practicing your response to some of the most commonly asked questions. But at the same time, don’t forget that you can also ask questions to learn more about the programs that you are about to commit your valuable time and money into. The interview should look like a conversation, where all of us can equally learn more about each other to see if the student and the program are a good fit.

Outstanding Students’ Interview

A: How do you feel about the time spent in MIU?

E: It was great. MIU was my second home. I have spent most of my time at school with my second family. Before MIU, I had been in another university, and it was horrible. I am so glad that I came to MIU.

A: What would you like to tell our freshmen?

E: First year in MIU might be difficult. Actually, freshmen have just graduated from high school, but university requires harder work than high school, so it is normal to feel stressed. I advise them to be patient, do not skip your classes and earn your diploma.

A: What are your plans for future?

E: I want to study master’s degree to learn more about my major. I am young so I want to spend more time on my education

A: Is there anything you would like to tell teachers of MIU?

E: I want to thank every teacher in MIU. They are the greatest people I have met in my life. They have brought us up, just like parents and siblings. Thank you for coming to Mongolia and teach us everything you know without feeling regret. You will always be in my heart, Thank you!

A: Last words?

E: I especially thank my FD teachers and our beautiful dean Eun-jung Kim. Thank you for guiding us for past 4 years. Our teachers are the best!.

A: Years in MIU, memorable times

D: The time had passed so swiftly, now it has already been four years. I met my lifelong friends while learning countless and valuable lessons during a time studying here. The most memorable times in MIU were from my freshman year. As I met with my classmates, we constantly participated in activities that school held, such as Basketball Competition and Art Festival with grand success. Those times left us irreplaceable precious memories.

A: Words to freshmen students?

D: I would like to tell that your life only depends on yourself, not from others. People transferred from MIU for the reason of not having a decent looking campus or not having good enough teachers. For me, I think it is nonsense. You can get the best out of here if you persevere and try your best. You can be The Tomorrow’s Global Leader only if you work hard and willing to do your best.

A: About the graduation, future plan?

D: I’m planning to work about one or two years to gain some experiences and after that I will study further for my master’s degree. And I think MIU has prepared me enough for my future as it opened many great chances to me.

A: Appreciation

D: I’d love to express my appreciation to our Academic Affairs staffs; Enkhee, Daria, Ganaa, and our IM departments’ TA Bayasaa. Also, I would like to say thank you to our department’s teachers; Sujin You, Dongchol Lee, and Daniel Lee, Stephen Choi, Joseph Lee from freshman year for teaching us valuable lessons and tried their best to develop us in every possible ways.

A: Why did you choose IT?

H: Before studying IT, I studied pharmacy for one and a half year. I figured that the major wasn’t right for me. I decided to change my major. Ever since I was in 7th grade, I loved computers, playing and fixing computers. One of my friends was studying in MIU, so I decided to come to MIU.

A: Glad you are happy with the major you chose. What are some advices you can give to students?

H: Well, I love my major and I prepare for lessons beforehand and I understand everything about the professors lectures. I understand it wholly. So when there is a test, I do well because I understood everything. So my advice is to prepare for your classes before going into the classroom. The other advice I would give is to find your own interest and not just rely on lectures alone. Find out what you really like and learn about them. Another advice I would give to other students is that you need to improve your English if you want to learn.

A: Thank you for your advices, so what do you plan to do in the future?

H: I want to study for a Master’s degree in software engineering. Computers and phones have software and someone needs to write them. The field of software engineering is growing and I think it will be a very promising field.

A: Which specific field are you planning to study further in the future?

H: Hmm. I think I will study environmental biotechnology because it will be very useful in the future. Our environment is getting

polluted and ruined each day. We need to restore our environment and that’s the contribution I can make to my country and the world. In the future, I would like to get into the field of beauty products. Using what I have learned from biotechnology, I would like to make products using Mongolia’s natural herbs and plants. It’s my aspiration.

A: To reach your goal, you need sufficient knowledge. Are you planning to study for Master’s degree?

H: Of course. Bachelor’s degree will not be enough. I need to keep learning. Most of my classmates are planning to study for Master’s degree. I am planning to work for couple of years before pursuing a higher education. By working, I will know if I want to work in a field of Biotechnology. If I get bored of it, I am not going to do it for the rest of my life right? We need to work at least for one year.

A: OK. You have been here at MIU for four years. What are some advices you can give to students and what are some memories you would like to share?

H: Wow. I am very sad that I am leaving this school. MIU is like one big family. One advice I would give is that you should prepare for TOEFL exam early. I would recommend you to start preparing for it is your sophomore year. Do what you have to do. Be active. Learn as much as you can from your professors. Enjoy as much as you can.

A: Thank you. I will use your advices. So why did you choose BT major?

H: When I was little, I wanted to be an astrologist and a neurologist. As I got older, I changed my mind. I chose BT because it is very challenging and very enjoyable. BT students are very smart.

Teachers’ Giving Career Advices

GE Political ScienceA: First of all as you teach political science, why did you choose that major? And are you satisfied with that major?

C: I first enrolled into university as a psychology major. I’ve always been so fascinated with hypnosis and thought it would be pretty cool if I can pull it off. I have never been so wrong in my life. Not only was I learning all sorts of different chemicals involved in human brain, but I was also forced to learn child development, which I had no interest in. I had to go through few majors until I’ve learned that political science was what I was looking for. Even though Canada is a multi-cultural nation I’ve experienced racism and wanted to understand why it was happening. Learning political science in university opened my eyes to historical and social facts that helped me understand the reasons why racism was something that could never be perished. In my future academic career, I plan to study conflict mediation to try to solve racial conflict in our society.

A: What did you learn from past failures? What were those failures?

C: This question is very interesting, because my biggest failure is also my biggest success. I could say that the biggest failure is the fact that I went to three different universities to complete my degree. However, because I went to three different universities, I got to fully experience what university experience was all about. Except for taking a same course twice, I’ve experienced everything from failing a course, all the way to building a lasting relationship with a professor who gave me motivation and inspiration to help others in need. And from that experience, the most valuable advice I can give to MIU students is that no matter how terrible or dire your situation might be, you should never give up. One time, during my sophomore year, I did not take my mid-term exam in my

communications course because I had personal issues and was so depressed. A professor of mine named Michael sent me 3 different emails trying to get me to continue on with the course so that I can pass the course. His willingness to reach out to his students to help them has given me the strength that I needed to succeed. In the end, I finished the course with A and have done very well since then. So never give up. You will eventually reach the end and when you look back at what you’ve done, you will be amazed at just how much you grew from that experience.

A: Should we focus on making a lot of money, or on making a contribution to the world?

J: Per my previous response, I genuinely believe that success in life should not be measured by material gain such as more money or more things. A focus on making a lot of money is self-centered and can easily lead to heartless practices in business, loss of the more important things in life, and eventually depression even going as far as suicide. If money is a person’s only purpose in life, what will he or she do when money is gone or when there is failure in the ability to earn a lot of money? Success is in helping those people around us, sharing our lives and talents with others. This may not bring wealth, and it may even bring frustrations and pain, but it is the most meaningful way to live.

A: Is university education a waste of time and money as opposed to working in the real world?

J: This can be a trick question. I think university education is a part of the real world not just a shadow of it. With that said, I am of the archaic opinion that it is not necessary for every person to attend university. There are those who greatly benefit from a university education and can, therefore, contribute better and in different ways to the world.

There are others who should pursue a different path not because they are stupid or incapable of completing a university education but because they have other gifts and skills in areas outside of the academic sphere. We are all gifted in a certain way. I think that the modern call for everyone to attend university is an attempt to fit everyone into the same box. We are not all meant to look the same. Some are given the gifts and talents to do jobs and tasks that do not require a university education. For these, attending university can easily become a waste of time and money. For others, though, time at university will help shape them into who they need to be and prepare them for the work that they have been gifted to do.

A: How do you find out if you are following the right career path?

J: Do you find joy in what you are doing, or do you find that you are enduring the career for other motives? Motivation is the key. What is the motivation for continuing down this particular career path? If honestly considered, these questions can help a person figure out if he or she is on the right career path.

A: Do you have any advice on risk taking?

J: There are risks that are worth taking, and there are other things that are just stupid. Be wary of what is a risk worth taking and what is not.

A: What was the reason that you chose this major, are you satisfied with your major?

K: Actually at first I was really interested in International Relations Officer but my uncle persuaded me to choose International Business Management, he thought that it would benefit Mongolia in a major

scale. During my studies a person who helped me a lot, the most honored person for me was Professor Park, currently MIU’s vice president. After graduating, I kept on studying, doing further research about my major. I realized that my major is very useful in my country and therefore I wanted to devote myself to my country. I felt I had lack of knowledge and skills in my major and made a decision to go farther. One of my mottos is to share what I gained from university with my people and teach whoever is interested in it. I am very grateful that MIU has accepted me for teaching Human Resource course and yet I have the chance to teach the students about HRM and its cores. Nevertheless, I have few difficulties, but my students understand my situation and they support me in every matter.

A: That’s right professor. Even now I realize that what you stated is true. So, the next question is: How will you define SUCCESS? What is your position on how successful person should be?

K: Good question, well I think that everyone has success in his or her lives. Even though you had accomplished a small task doesn’t mean it’s not a success. In fact, it is SUCCESS. Flashing back to the beginning of a task and you’ll feel great afterwards and yet it is called SUCCESS. It is known that all people set certain goals and missions for their lives and they do accomplish them. To be a successful person, people set very strong and long-term goals, and they start it from bottom. When time goes by they find them on the top of their goals. And yet it is called SUCCESS.

A: What advices would you give to your fellow students?

K: Rather than advise, I want to say to have a certain and clear goal that you want to accomplish and fight for it even the time is hard. Never give up on your dreams. Be a ”DO IT WHATEVER HAPPENS” person and it will show you the path to success. You will find it very memorable once you succeed your dreams and goals. Student’s life is the most precious lifetime in human being and I wish you and students all the best and may you all achieve your dreams.

A: How do you see the growth of Hotel Management?

J: Nowadays, the hotel industry in Mongolia is quickly developing. Also, the needs of customers are increasing and becoming more and more complicated. Therefore, the demand for skilled workers in the hotel industry is also increasing.

A:What is the Mongolian Hotel Industry and MIU graduates’ performance in workplace?

J: 99% of the companies have to work with the concept of hospitalities. These days, finding skilled workers in Mongolia for such an industry is a challenge. Previously, as well as now, some MIU graduates work for many hospitality companies. They are very pleased with performance of MIU graduates.

A:What are the MIU graduates’ advantages?

J: They have a strong ability in language skills and great understanding in business concept. As well, they have an international mindset or global attitude, which helps them to work well in this hospitality industry. Therefore, even when they want to start their own company, they can run it very well for sure.

A: What would you advise to your students?

J: There is a new airport building up which needs a huge human resource. So I will encourage my students to study hard. In the future, our students with a professional mindset who view their job as a long-term career opportunity will get the best job offerings.

A: I believe your major is Geology. Can you tell us a little bit about the major you have studied?

C: I finished my school with a degree in Geology and became a Hydro geologist. I have studied water under the ground and how water moves under the ground. The main reason I majored in Geology and became a Hydro geologist was that I wanted to provide safe clean drinkable water for the people who need it. I am very passionate about my major.

A: That is very interesting. Ms. Carrie, can you give students some advice on how to achieve more and on how to become better students?

C: The one crucial lesson is that you need to be passionate about your major and if you are passionate you will do well. I know that most students do not choose the major on their own but was chosen for them. To these students, my advice is that you control your own future. It is your future alone, no one else’s. Your study habits and the disciplines that you are learning in university will help you in your future. You decide where to go so even if you don’t like your major, you can still learn a lot and build a healthy study habit that will definitely help you in your future.

A: Thank you, so what sets your students apart from other majors?

C: This generation of students will be on the frontline when the people and the government is sick of pollution. People are already getting sick of pollution and the damage to the environment. The ET students will be the ones that will fix the problems such as pollution, environmental damage, lack of clean energy and etc. It will happen. In the near future, Mongolia will decide to use clean energy instead of using coal-powered plants. This is the time to get prepared for the future. ET department will help you prepare for Mongolia and the world’s need for clean energy. The future for ET students looks bright.

A: What is your major?

D: I studied Computer Engineering for Bachelor degree and Computer Science for Master’s Degree.

A: When you faced difficulties how did you overcome it?D: When I was doing my internship I learned Humility and Comunication. So I suggest my students, who chose IT as their career to ask for help and always have a good attitude. Especially when it comes to an e-mail, because even in your E-mail your tone can be expressed. Also always ask for help. A: Advice for the IT students?D: I would like to say stay humble and be flexible. This industry changes everyday. So be ready to learn new things anytime. A: Any last words?D: Your job is not your life. It doesn’t define you. Find your value in something else.

A: What advice would you give to your BT students?D: I always tell my students to look 10 years further. Because that’s when they graduate from their masters degree and start to work. So always think about the situation of that time. It will be even good if the students look forward to 20 years later. Always look forward. Mongolia’s GPA growth was the fastest in the world so all kinds of industries will change quickly.

A: Is Masters Degree necessary for BT Students?D: Actually it depends on the students’ plan. If they want to

become a researcher they must at least have a PHD Degree. When students start to work, how should they overcome difficulties? Many people think that, their life will be easy but that’s not always the reality. Also whenever you face a difficulty try to think positive and find out what you can learn from it. Whenever there is a difficult situation, try to see it from a different perspective and learn from it.

A: Any other advises? D: One thing I want to say is that, BT Students have more advantages than other departments. Which means, they can get scholarship easily for their masters degree. At the same time they can get stipend. So instead of just studying MIU’s subject, I want to tell them to prepare for their future. For example, studying for GRE exam so they won’t miss their wonderful chances.

Our graduates can work in many different areas beyond designing. The areas are: Product planning (designer and merchandiser), Styling and coordinator, Sales and marketing (brand manager and buyer), Journalism. Recently many internationally known brands have been coming to Mongolia. They need buyers, who can observe the society and economy of Mongolia to choose which products to bring and sell in Mongolia. Not every country has same taste, so buyers need to research what items will be sold in Mongolia. This is one of the jobs in marketing area. Also, there are many fashion magazines in Mongolia. They can work as editors and writers because they will be graduating as experts in fashion area. Especially for Mongolia, the fashion industry is all about cashmere. Companies like Gobi and Goyo need designers. But today, they do not emphasize design creativity. However, I hope that in the future our graduates can influence the fashion industry with the creativity they have learned here. Our students need to understand that they do not need to be designers after graduating from MIU . They can work in many different areas including pattern making and tailoring.

Unlike any universities in Mongolia, MIU has a place

called SSC, which stands for the Student Success Center. SSC is a tutoring center that offers tutoring for subjects such as IM, IT, BT, ET and EE classes. Not only do they tutor major courses but they also tutor subjects such as English grammar and writing to improve students English skills. Starting from this semester, SSC has a new Writing Center to help students writing skills to improve. To receive help from peer tutors,

there must be an appointment made beforehand. The tutors will help students to generate, organize and develop ideas for assigned papers. Also the tutors will check the grammar, sentence structure, etc. and will teach you to proofread. Therefore, the tutors are not there to correct your answers, but to provide quality assistance, tools, and resources to help students become confident, independent writers. Also SSC has a computer module with many helpful resourses.

The computer module has websites such as ESL Listening Lab, Khan Academy that hosts lectures on subjects such as Math, Science, Economics, Humanities and Test preparation. There are also many power point, videos and grammar worksheets for English learning. Students who would like to use the computer module for independent learning are welcome to sign up for an appointment at any time. So let’s got to Students Success Center to become Successful Students!

This semester’s topic is self-development. One way to expedite the personal and professional growth process is “Getting out of the self development.”

Now you may ask yourselves “What do you mean ‘get out of your comfort zone? How do I do that’?”

I am here to answer this question.

6 May, 2014Ready for an adventure?

Change your comfort zone to risk taking.

Why not go on a mission trip? One of the most interesting events in our university can be a Mission Trip.

W hat does it mean to be a missionary? Christians respond to this question

differently, and sometimes these answers are very contradictory. One girl asked this question to a famous Irish missionary Amy Carmichael. Amy replied: "Put simply: to be a missionary - is the same as get a chance to die."Every year MIU students go on a mission. Missionary - this is one of the most important

steps in Christianity. If you want to know God, then you certainly need to go on a mission. The Mission Trip is a good chance to improve your English, acquire teaching experience, management experience, and leadership experience. Also, you can see different countries. This year MIU is planning to send eight groups. Five groups will go to Russia: Chita, Kyzyl, Zheleznogorsk-Ilimsky, Yangel

and New Igirma. Three groups will go to China: Xinjiang, Urumqi and Tibet.

Usually Mission Trip goes on for two weeks. Mission Trip is not only about Mission for God. Teaching English to children as well, but tour price is not yet known. Accommodation and food are included in the trip.

Let’s go to SSC!

1. Start Small. Everyone is scared to make a CHANGE, but if you start from a little thing it will be easier for you. For example, ask the man or woman you like for a date. But don’t just think, DO IT! Anything that makes you feel a bit unnerved when you think about it is a great place to start.

4.Reinforce outcomes. Each time you do something you wouldn’t normally do, write down what you learned from it. When you’re fearful of taking on something different the next time, go back and read what you learned and how you grew from something.

2. Make a commitment to change. “Agreement is not commitment” and you have learn to distinguish the difference. A commitment is a complete mindset face-lift. Your mindset must be committed to growth; quick growth.

5. Know yourself. Know when you are ready to make a change. When you’re ready don’t think emotionally. Just like Nike’s slogan, “Just Do It.”

3. Measure your commitment. Everyday or every week try “one thing that takes you out of your comfort zone” Write it in the morning and read it in the night and see what you have done to get out of your comfort zone.

6. MAKE MISTAKES and love it. Many successful people will tell you that, they learned more from their mistakes rather then their success. So don’t be fearful to make mistakes.

Berthos Auerbach once said “Music washes away from the

soul the dust of everyday life”. If you are interested in experiencing such a magical moment, you are welcome to attend the wonderful concerts at National Opera and Ballet Theater. The National Opera and Ballet Theater offers the most well-known opera and ballet series every season. It gives a great pleasure for those music lovers to enjoy every one of them throughout the year. You do not need to be a regular concert goer to fully enjoy them, but music itself will delight you in many ways.

One of the standard operatic repertoires that audiences love

to hear is ‘ C a r m e n ’ by a French c o m p o s e r , Georges Bizet. The exotic music and setting draw audiences to be deeply engaged in the work. Although the plot depicts immorta l ity, b e t r a y a l

and tragic death that are highly controversial, the opera continues to be the favorite of audiences. ‘Carmen’ presented by Mongolian National Opera was a wonderful production. The highly skilled singers with a great understanding of character impressed many audiences. One of the surprises was the tenor, Don Jose because it is difficult to find a tenor who can sing the high notes expressively nowadays. Listening to arias of Don Jose was an eye-opening moment that engaged both mind and ears. The main character, Carmen was a mezzo-soprano who had a strong but rich voice never bored audiences. Which the most

well-known arias, ‘Habanera’ and ‘Toreador Song’ were gifts that took everyone on a journey to exotic setting of ‘Carmen’, Spain. One of the unique aspects of this production was that the arias were sang in original language, French but the recitatives were spoken in Mongolian. It is unusual to combine two different languages on one stage however, it was successfully collaborated in terms of keeping the original flavor of French arias and at the same time, the dialogues were delivered directly in Mongolian without any misunderstanding. It is strongly recommended for everyone to taste this wonderful production of ‘Carmen’ before 2013-2014 season closes.

If you are not a great fan of operas, but still love to be engaged in beautiful moments of music and physical art, ‘Giselle’ is a great choice. ‘Giselle’ is a romantic ballet based on inspirations from a prose passage by a German poet, Heinrich Heine as well as a poem by a French poet, Victor Hugo. The ballet is beautifully choreographed by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot. There are many choices of ballet but ‘Giselle’ is superb without doubts. The exquisite physical

beauty and expression blended in with beautiful music presented the superior form of art. The main character, Giselle embodied the joy, sorrow, agony and pity of human beings through her flawless body movements. Giselle seemed to be fully embracing the character by her outstanding technique and splendid physical expressions. No words were needed to narrate the story but the physical as well as facial expressions were enough to deliver the story and emotions of each character. It was such a breathtaking experience and two acts were too short to absorb all the beauties. After the curtain closed, I had to stay in seat for some time to be back into reality. It felt as if I was dreaming. ‘Giselle’ will be presented by Mongolia National Ballet Theater until July so please give yourself a chance to experience the superb beauty of this physical art.

Student’s VoiceC urrently enrolled students

and alumni of Mongolia International University can make MIU a better school. Some people who are studying at MIU usually rely on someone else and do not think they should start doing something by them. I would tell to those people that it is time for you to stop complaining and start doing.

First of all, since we are studying at MIU, we get to learn to be clean, if we cannot clear. I know many people are saying and complaining on Facebook and everywhere, “MIU sucks. Classrooms are full of trash and dust. Desks and chairs are dirty with scratched notes and pictures everywhere and etc.” I understand what those people are saying because we really are studying in this kind

of environment. However, I cannot understand why they do not get “we” made our environment like that. Water bottles, papers, plastic bags and other things that are under our feet do not grow from the floor. We threw them away. We made the classrooms dirty and messy. So, we should clean them. If not, we should keep them clean after cleaners clean them. I am certain that it is not hard thing to do. We, all together can make our studying environment clean. We should realize that our school, MIU is our second home.

Next, MIU students should know how to deliver their own words, opinions, and suggestions to the school in order to make it an ideal school. School principles, president and administrations do not read

people’s mind. So that they might be thinking that everything is going fine as usual. Thus, if we offer some good and appropriate suggestions, they would be more than happy to hear us and try to make those ideas work. Suggestions will lead us one step closer to our great school.

In addition, we should have a public cleaning day. Students can gather together on one or more than one day per year and clean the outside area of MIU voluntarily. It would make the school “the school with the cleanest campus”. As some MIU workers are doing such as planting trees and flowers, students also can organize such events and make MIU’s environment green environment. In that case, we would not worry much about dust situation. All we need is

some effort and even a little desire to make a change. Finally, if we want to do something, we will find a way to do it. if we do not want to do it, we will find an excuse not to do. Currently enrolled students and alumni of Mongolia International University can make MIU a better school, if we start trying now. With our help, effort, suggestions and desire to make a change, MIU will be an ideal place for us to study happily. For instance: it will have clean classrooms, green environment and so on.

According to Mahatma Gandhi,

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

We can do it, don’t you think?
