The Seven Habits ofHighly Effective People

Tools to change perspectives, principles and reality.

A change in perspective changes everything.

Habit #2: in other words: Need

& Seed

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change

Expanding your circle of influence

proactively requires thoughtful planning.

Habit #2: Begin with the End in Mind

and the wisdom to know the difference

the courage to changethe things I can,

Once upon a time, a man who was browsing in a store made the shocking discovery that God was behind the counter. So the man walked over and asked, "What are You selling?"

God replied, "Whatever your heart desires."

The man said, "I want happiness, peace of mind, and freedom from fear . . . for me and the whole world."

God smiled and said, "We don't sell fruit here. Only seeds."

Farm or forage?

Forage: react to what is there – find it, gather it in.Farm: control the environment to produce greater yields. What is the need? What is the seed?

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption; but he who

sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Law of the Farm:What you plant comes up,

True to it’s DNA.

Begin with the end in mind...

Mark 5:28 For she said,

"If I touch even his

garments, I shall be

made well."

Phil 2:5-11 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of

a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death,

even death on a cross.

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him

the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus

every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of

God the Father.

Hebrews 12:2 ... looking to Jesus

the pioneer and perfecter of our faith,

who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,

despising the shame,

and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Bartimaeus: Mark 10:46

Mark 10:51 And Jesus said to him, "What do you want me to do for you?" And the blind man said to him, "Master, let me receive my sight."

Mark 10:52 And Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.

Do you know your answer to the question Jesus asked:"What do you want me to do for you?"

What is the end you have in mind?

What do I want to grow in my

life?

One Minute for God:

Rather than react to anxiety, wecan choose a response whichwill more productively shape the future for all concerned.

Be proactive

John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.

Mark 11:22 And Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God.

Mark 11:23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11:25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against any one; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."

Be proactive: Increase your influence by shifting energy

from the circle of concern to the circle of influence - what you control.

Being proactive expands your circle of influence.

Habit 2 – Begin with the end in mind – is to plan
