Historical and Pre-instrumental period earthquake catalogues were created in and around Project Site. 23 seismological monitoring stations network and 13 GPS measurement network were established in July 2013. Geophysical and geomorphological studies were performed in May 2014-August 2014. Around Sinop Peninsula, the measurement work of oceanographic parameters were completed by TUBİTAK Marmara R/V vessel owned by TUBİTAK MAM

Research Project Intended to the Parameters of Field Assessment

JAPC Studies

Off-shore studies of JAPC

Acquiring the data from off-shore

at Sinop site, the works

completed on 5-31 October 2013,

in order to determine the fault of

sea and its characteristic.

17

Page 17: the Sinop project

On-Shore studies of JAPC

JAPC was started to field studies as of 2014, August 11 to define active faults for research of geological, geophysical and geotechnical on land and the concerned studies was completed on 2014, November 28.

LIDAR

To obtain high resolution topography

on Sinop NPP site LIDAR and geomorphological study contract was signed on 26 June 2014.

LIDAR data collection was carried out in November 2014 and it is planned to finalize survey at the end of April 2015.

19

Seismic Hazard Analysis (SHA)

• Development of DSHA (Deterministic Seismic Hazard Analysis) and PSHA

(Probablistic Seismic Hazard Analysis) will be conducted through SSHAC (Senior

Seismic Hazard Assessment Committee) approach.

• The process will be carried out in coordination with Tractebel Engineering, JAPC

and participation of independent experts.

• SSHAC process will address :

Fault displacement hazard

Probabilistic approach

Deterministic approach

• SSHAC Level-2 will be for The Ground Motion Characterization and The Site

Response. SSHAC Level-3 will be for The Seismic Source Characterization. First

SSHAC preparatory meeting was performed on 9-10 December 2014.

21

The contract for EIA was signed at the end of June 2014

The scope of studies;

• meteorology,

• radiology,

• terrestrial and marine,

• hydrology,

• socio-economic,

• air quality.

22
