THE STIFFY HAND TOOL (Patent Pending):
THE ANSWER TO THE “HANDS-OFF” POLICY
The Stiffy Hand Tool was engineered by FiberTex & Supply, Inc. and has been designed
as the HANDS FREE solution to help operators and HSE Managers mitigate hazardous
incidents that can occur during the movement of various materials being loaded on/off
and throughout the rig. When used effectively and as designed, the Stiffy Hand Tool provides a
buffer zone of safety where rig personnel can guide, maneuver, spot and land suspended loads
and work drill pipe on the platform.
Operators now have a way to mitigate risk by equipping and training workers to not place
themselves in danger or working in an unsafe proximity to or under hazardous suspended loads.
Applications • Drilling platforms: offshore and onshore, loading and unloading trucks
• “Hands Free” Guiding, spotting and landing suspended loads
• Maneuvering drill pipe and all types of tubular on pipe racks or on the platform
• Snagging taglines and sling legs
Ratings • Load testing: Static Pull = 400 lbs. / Compression = 600 lbs
• The Stiffy Hand Tool is not designed as a lifting or load bearing tool
• Major components tested to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM )
standards
• Country of origin: USA
