Volume 8, Issue 1 January 2016 Welcome to 2016! The new year will bring a few changes around the Village. First and foremost, will be the new look and features of The StitchersVoice”. Beside the logo at the top is an excerpt from the Village Welcomedesign by StitchersVillage Designs which was released in 2012. I have been looking back through past issues to help revamp the newsletter. The issues in 2015 were a shortened version. I want to get somewhere in the middle between that and a full blown magazine. As always - suggestions are welcome from members. The StitchersVillage will feature a designer/design company in each newsletter and any prizes to be offered during the month, for games, will be from that company. The designer feature can be found on page 2. I hope that this will encourage our most loved designers to stop in more often and perhaps engage with our community members more frequently. The new community has a greater functionality for the groups. Each group has a dedicated forum and offers many opportunities for designers. The Village Home Series will have a new release this Spring from Xs and Ohs! I am excited to have this continue and I am working with some other designers to get some future designs. Another project launching is TSV Market (tsvmarket.com). This is anticipated to become the needle market for things you may not have found or are no longer available in needlework shops. I am working with some designers to post some of their vintage designs as well as contacting some of those with Etsy shops. There is also a Membercategory for members to give away items or sell items if they need to reduce stash. Lets work to make this THE needlework market. The shops are the key support of The StitchersVillage. Please visit these shops for your stitching supplies and inspiration. Welcome to 2016! The new year will bring a few changes around the Village. First and foremost, will be the new look and features of “The Stitchers’ Voice”. Beside the logo at the top is an excerpt from the “Village Welcome” design by Stitchers’ Village Designs which was released in 2012. I have been looking back through past issues to help revamp the newsletter. The issues in 2015 were a shortened version. I want to get somewhere in the middle between that and a full blown magazine. As always - suggestions are welcome from members. The Stitchers’ Village will feature a designer/design company in each newsletter and any prizes to be offered during the month, for games, will be from that company. The designer feature can be found on page 2. I hope that this will encourage our most loved designers to stop in more often and perhaps engage with our community members more frequently. The new community has a greater functionality for the groups. Each group has a dedicated forum and offers many opportunities for designers. The Village Home Series will have a new release this Spring from X’s and Oh’s! There is also a “Member” category for members to give away items or sell items if they need to reduce stash. Let’s work to make this THE needlework market.

There are many wonderfully creative needlework designers and The Stitchers’ Village has a Designer Studio feature

which gives a listing of some of them. Each article gives link(s) to information about the designer and/or company.

These can be found in the main menu of TSV under the Shops & Designers option. If you have suggestions to add to

this list, please submit it to me.

The first in the designer feature and to kick off 2016, is Glendon Place. Cheryl Granda has been a

supporter of our community since the beginning. Cheryl has participated in a designer chat and has

designed a chart for the Village Home Series “Best Friends Forever”. In 2010 she provided the chart

“Witch Parking Only” for members in a stitch along project in the community. In 2015 she designed

“Village Blooms” for Stitchers’ Village Designs to be released at the Needlework Galleria Show

where she was the guest designer in the TSV booth.

Grand prizes for the bingo games in January will be charts from Glendon Place. Check the calendar

for dates and times. The January monthly drawing will be for a “Village Blooms” kit with chart, fabric,

thread, and beads. To enter CLICK HERE and fill out the drawing entry form using the code: GP.

The deadline for submitting this is January 14, 2016.

Stitch with your choice of thread and fabric. You might consider adding a top and/or bottom border of a spe-

cialty stitch. I picture this on a cold blue with white thread. Maybe a metallic for the snowflakes.

From the genius mind of myself (haha) come these wonderful little

frames for the ATC projects. Shown individually and in a group of four

to illustrate the grouping possibilities, they are sold individually and are

$10 each. Constructed to hold a 2 1/2” x 3 1/2” Artist Trading Card

creation.

Also pictured are ornament hangers to display your favorite stitched

ornament that you created or received from a stitch along, exchange,

or Village friend. These are limited quantity and come with the cardi-

nal or forest animal design. Ornament hangers are $26.

You can purchase any of these in The Stitchers’ Village Market

(tsvmarket.com) or the Village Book Store (2tsv.com/bookstore)

“What are ATC’s?”, you ask. Check out the forum in the community to

get the full story on these stitch along/exchanges.

These are stitch related products I have come across recently. Generally, they

will be new products, but, on occasion, I might post something new to me, even

if it has been around awhile . . . So many wonderful things, so little time . . .

The designer of “Stitch People” has released a new

book “Farm Animals”. The original book allows you

to choose from a huge selection of hair colors and

styles, clothing, accessories, etc. to put together a

custom family portrait. “Farm Animals” is a great

companion for rural stitchers or those with friends

or family who live on farms. stitchpeople.com

As always, if you stash any of these items, please say you found it on The Stitchers’ Village!!

Erik Shipley of Ship’s Manor has created an amazing village that

changes through the seasons in “Come by The Hills”. I love this!

As always, a very creative design and a wonderful project. For

more designs from Ship’s Manor shipsmanor.com
