from the publisherHappy 4th of July! As we’re planning to this year…we
know many of you will attend 4th on Flagler. It’s the big-
gest free outdoor Independence Day event in our area and
has the largest firework display in south Florida. This year’s
event celebrates 25 years on West Palm’s waterfront.
My husband and I usually spend July 4th barbecuing with family before at-
tending the local fireworks. A few years ago we decided to hold a block party in
our driveway instead and invited all of our neighbors. We had a typical summer
morning with driving rain that drove the party into our garage. By early after-
noon the skies cleared, the majority of the food had been consumed, and the
neighbors had gotten the opportunity to connect with one another. We rekin-
dled old friendships and made new ones.
And so is the goal of Best Version Media and our magazines - bringing
neighbors together by providing a superior quality, professional publication that
reflects the integrity, pride and prestige of the local communities we serve.
I want to thank our homeowners for your readership, support, and feedback.
I’m privileged to have the opportunity to meet so many of you. Keep in mind that
I’m always looking for residents in the community to feature and I truly appreciate
you sharing your family and stories with me. I also appreciate the commitment
from our local businesses whose involvement makes this magazine possible.
It’s our goal to help promote dialogue among neighbors and provide helpful and
educational information. We invite you to make this YOUR publication. I look
forward to hearing from you.

Liverpool. It turned out that we both had grown up in the same city, same town, but never knew each other. We both have such similar backgrounds and similar circumstances that it just clicked. We’re both only children, our mothers are a year older than our fathers, and both our fathers are Ro-man Catholic and both our mothers are Protestant; which in those days was strange since it was very Irish. For two years we had a trans-Atlantic friendship and then I eventually came over. Two years after that, we decided it was time to get married.” The couple have since received their dual citizenship.
Jeff held the position of Director of Coaching Education for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America part time while the couple lived in Penn-sylvania. The position became full time,
but came with the requirement of relo-cating to the association’s main location.
“We left Pennsylvania to go to Kansas City having no idea of what Kansas was like. We thought we were going to be in a wooden house with corn fields,” laughed Christine. “And it was won-derful. It was a beautiful 10 years, full of culture, the arts, jazz, blues, muse-ums…just a great city to be in.”
After their 10 years in Kansas, Jeff re-tired from the NSCAA. His last year, Jeff and Christine started their own busi-ness while Jeff was also flying down to Florida every 6 weeks to do coaching education for the Palm Beach Soccer Academy.
The couple’s business takes them and those who wish to join them on an International golf tour, playing courses in Ireland, Scotland, and England.
“We’ve done college golf groups, business men golf groups, alumni golf groups,” said Jeff, “and it basically in-volves playing some of the British Open courses and some of the qualifying courses. The guys like it because it’s a different type of golfing in some ways. It’s right on what’s called the Golf Coast of England. We live 150 miles from Scotland, and a short plane flight to
Jeff and Christine Tipping live an adventurous life together, in which their work and play are one in the same. Both were born in Liverpool, England and share a love of soccer and golf that has evolved into a unique business venture.
Growing up, Jeff Tipping was sur-rounded by the two sports he fell in love with and played them at a young age. During his senior year of high school, his school played a soccer match against an American college team. The Liverpool high school won.
Soon after, Jeff was approached and asked about continuing his soc-cer career with a scholarship to play in
America. When Jeff noted that he also played golf, he earned himself a soccer and golf scholarship for Hartwick Col-lege in Oneonta, NY.
His college career led him to be draft-ed into the American Soccer League, where he spent 5 years playing profes-sional soccer. Playing for the American Soccer League allowed Jeff to get his green card and US citizenship. From here, he went on to earn his Master’s at Lehigh University, and spent 21 years as a lecturer and coach. During his time as a coach, he took his teams over seas on tours.
“I took one of my teams to Liverpool Football Club. The gentleman that was
supposed to take us on a tour of the stadium didn’t show up. So, they sent their number 1 PR person to give us a tour,” said Jeff with a smile, indicating to his wife.
“We became friends, and Christine came over [to the United Sates] to visit me a few times, and when she asked me to marry her...” His sentence trailed off into his and Christine’s laughter before resuming. “…I said yes!”
“I went to the all girl’s school [in Liverpool], and Jeff went to the all boy’s school, and never the twain met,” said Christine. “He left when we were both 17, and it was 17 years later when he brought his college team back to

Ireland, so our home in England is ideal in terms of location.”
“Whenever we take groups over, we are with them 24/7,” said Christine. “We don’t just say, ‘Okay, go over.’ We are physically there. The areas that we go to we are very familiar with. We know the places to take them, we know the places not to take them, and we have a lot of different contacts over there. When we do a soccer tour, we tell the fathers to also bring their clubs because while the kids are training or playing, if they want to play golf we can arrange that as well.”
“We played a Riley Cup game against a British group. The American guys
won. Maybe they let them win, I don’t know,” said Jeff with a smile.
“Well,” added Christine, “the Brits ended up buying dinner.”
“It’s not a high-end tour, it’s not a 5-star accommodation,” said Christine. “It’s a good time for average to good golfers. Ours is for the average guy who wants to go over seas, play a few rounds of golf, have a good time, maybe bring the wife, and that’s affordable.”
“And there’s sight-seeing, although ‘sight-seeing’ isn’t the right word,” said Jeff. “There’s a historical quality. In Liver-pool, there’s a maritime connection from the Second World War. There’s a mu-seum there that illustrates the American
and British connection during that time.”With Jeff’s constant travel between his
International tours and working with the Palm Beach Soccer Academy, the Acad-emy’s owner suggested that they move to Florida and run their business there so Jeff could be apart of the Academy full time. Jeff accepted as the Technical Director, and the couple came to Florida.
They stayed at a friend’s while search-ing for a place to live. One weekend when Jeff was meant to fly out to Colorado for coaching education, the weather conditions cancelled the event. The friend they were staying with had his family coming in for that weekend, so the couple stayed in the PGA Resort.
One night after coming into the bar, exhausted from searching, they en-countered a series of good fortune.
“Michael, who is a great barman here by the way, overheard us,” said Christine. “He said, ‘There’s a chap who comes here on a regular basis who has a couple of places in the complex, and I know he’s looking for someone or a couple to rent one of his properties. If he comes in, I’ll let you know.’ We went up to our room, put the key in the door, opened the door, and as we did the phone was ringing. It was Michael, who said ‘He’s just walked in, can you come back down?’”
The couple met him and he took them to his properties the next morn-ing. The couple ended up moving in.
“It was perfect,” said Jeff.“We thought, ‘what have we done
to deserve this? This is great,’” said Christine. “We’ve made some very nice friends here, it’s a safe environment – which we like, and we like the peaceful side of it. It’s just a pleasure to live here. We like the community very much.”
