Joint Service Digital Architecture– Communications
• Includes secure and non-secure communications, voice and data, through multiple line-of-sight, UHF TacSat, L-band SATCOM and Wideband SATCOM radios and Telephony
• The Military Requirements must be certified by the Joint Interoperability Test Center (JITC) and comply with:
– Joint Technical Architecture (JTA)– Defense Information Infrastructure Common Operating Environment (DII-COE)– Net-Centric Operational Warfare (NCOW) compliant
– Processing• A full suite of essential functional capabilities for Battle Command (BC) deployment lay
the foundation for distribution (factory to foxhole)• Maintain the Common Operating Picture (COP)
TSV-1X will provide any Command group the communications and BC infrastructure to conduct various operations while on the vessel utilizing the Battle Command Center (BCC)
– Thin client technology, open-architected standards provide tailorable, scalable assets.– Having various BC applications integrated within the BCC allows the vessel to operate in a
multi-echelon joint/combined environment– TSV platforms offers "Transformational" flexibility/capability - replicates a Command and
supports Battle Command On The Move requirements. Capabilities include:• Enroute Mission Planning & Rehearsal - Deploy combat "Ready to Fight" units• Joint Task Force Battle Command• Army Battle Command afloat (LandWarNet)• Homeland Security
TSV-1X Self Protection TSV-1X Self Protection CapabilitiesCapabilities
Self Protection (of a non-combatant vessel)– Relies on layered defense– Detection capability– Passive and active capability to defeat threats by targeting systems and
attacking platforms Integrated Radar Optical Surveillance & Sighting System (IROS3)
– Overarching Anti-terrorist/Force Protection system which integrates sensor information and communication data while also combining semi-automated engagement capability.
– Creates a common tactical scene for ship's crew to maintain 24 hour situational awareness between watch standers, patrol boats, piers and shore based stations.
Electronic Warfare Countermeasures– Radio Frequency (RF)/Electro Optics (EO)/Infra Red (IR) threat sensors– Multi-Ammunition Softkill System (MASS) countermeasure system
