BackgroundPlaying in the Betfred Rugby Football League Super League from their Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington Wolves R.L.F.C. are one of the world’s leading professional rugby league clubs.Founded in 1876 and named Warrington Zinger, in the sport’s north of England heartland, the club’s honours include the Rugby League Championship, the Lancashire Cup and most recently, the Rugby League Challenge Cup.Serving the community not only with coaching for youngsters, ladies and professional players alike, the club and its following continues to grow and thrive by supporting charities, businesses, schools and local projects. As you would expect, this professional and high profile organisation that employs over 80 full-time and part-time members of staff, provide their players, support staff and dignitaries with match day uniforms that befit their status for home and away fixtures, as well as for day-to-day and special occasions when the need arises.

Challenge For the 2017 season a replacement club uniform was required, and following an approach we were invited to present our proposals and recommendations for the production and supply of a new one, on time and on budget. The club were seeking a smart, durable, modern and stylish look that would present a level of prestige with the fans and visitors that would strengthen and support their strong Warrington Wolves branding too.We accepted the task of updating the look and feel of their match day uniform in just 10 working days in readiness for the first home game of the Wolves’ season on February 11th 2017 knowing that the key to this project would be communication with both the client, internally amongst our team and with our suppliers.

Solution The Wolves operate from a modern stadium and we felt that the club match day uniforms should reflect this. Our account management and design teams developed concepts which we felt would have a modern edge and a clean cut that would carry through their identity.Timescales were also critical and therefore, to avoid any unforeseen delays, our account managers presented concepts to the Warrington Wolves management team, that included stock-supported corporate suits, shirts and ties - all of which would carry the Wolves’ branding.

Results Crucially, our design concepts and proposals were accepted and taken forward to production, resulting in their new club uniform being supplied on budget and on time for their first game of the season.Because of the timescales involved, it was our our experience, approach and strong relationships with the client, within our team and with our suppliers that allowed us to deliver with such a quick turnaround. The club staff, kitted out in their new uniforms, were all smart and in sync as the Wolves entertained the Catalan Dragons. It was certainly pleasing to hear that both Wolves’ fans and corporate customers gave positive feedback regarding the new look of the Warrington Wolves match-day staff. As befits their position and role at the club, Geoff Durbin, Chief Commercial Officer and Karl Fitzpatrick, CEO represented the club on a visit to Dubai, where they met with representatives from Emirates Airlines to discuss a new commercial deal (shown wearing their new club uniform).
