InsiderThe start of the fall season means NFL and College football are kicking back up again – it also means an eventful time of year for the Dircks team!

As the Official Mover of the Arizona Cardinals and Arizona State University Athletics, football season keeps us busy here at Dircks.

From moving into State Farm Stadium from their training facility, to traveling to preseason and regular season road games across the country, the Dircks team is never far behind the Arizona Cardinals. Dircks is behind the scenes, tasked with moving over 13,000 pounds of equipment – including gym equipment, spare jerseys, helmets, pads, shoes, rain gear and more than 60 footballs – to and from each away game destination safely. To put that into perspective, all of the team’s equipment can fill the

entire underbelly of a 757 plane!

Speaking of equipment, the ASU Sun Devils are no exception to having a ton of it, either! Similar to the Cardinals, the Sun Devils bring plenty of backup equipment, spare jerseys, helmets and other gear, and footballs with them while traveling across the PAC-12 territory for away games. Did you know that the equipment alone takes up a 26 foot truck, two 16 foot trucks, and a semi-truck?! Dircks is always close behind the team in our Sparky trailer to

ensure the Sun Devils have everything they may need while on the road.

We are proud to Deliver Peace of Mind to both of these teams as the Official Mover of the Arizona Cardinals and Arizona State University Athletics!

Congratulations to Joe Sorholus, Gary and Donna Eaves, and Rob & Carolyn Wolfe for being awarded as Van Operators of the Month for May, June and July by Mayflower Van Lines! In addition to these winners, Dircks drivers Anthony Englund, Eddie McBride, Evaristo Sanchez, and Lakevion Thomas received Honorable Mentions. GET TO KNOW…Blair brings over 25 years of industry experience in domestic and international relocation to the Dircks team. In his previous roles, he was responsible for managing extremely large international household goods accounts such as Amazon and Proctor & Gamble. Blair brings an open mind and passion for the industry along with extensive knowledge and experience in domestic and international relocations. His passion is working with clients to ensure that we exceed their expectations and that we bring creative solutions to meet their strategic goals.

Blair and his family are originally from Calgary, Alberta Canada, and transferred down to the Phoenix area in 2011 where he, his wife Barb, and daughter Siena now reside. In his free time, Blair has loved watching his daughter play soccer since she was four years old. He is a fan of all sports, especially hockey, and is an avid fan of the Boston Bruins. The family are also avid movie fans, and enjoy nights out consisting of dinner and a movie.

We are proud to announce that Dircks made the Phoenix Business Journal’s list of Largest Family-Owned Businesses in Phoenix once again this year! The PBJ comprises its list by ranking the number of full time, local (Maricopa and Pinal counties) employees. With the growth Dircks has experienced in the past year, and the addition of Horizon Moving & Logistics to our family of companies, Dircks has moved up the list to be named the 32nd largest family-owned company in Phoenix!

We are so proud to share that we have reached a new milestone in our efforts to support our friends at Move for Hunger – we have officially collected enough food to provide over 10,000 life-saving meals to our local Phoenix community! This news comes after Dircks returned to the Tempe Triathlon last month to rescue over 5,000 pounds of food. Team Move for Hunger is a national network of runners and walkers who dedicate their performance in races to the 41 million Americans

who are struggling with food insecurity. After participants finish their race, they are provided with energy bars, bananas, sports drinks, and water to rehydrate and refuel, however, the organizers typically order far more than they can distribute and the leftovers are thrown away.

With more than 600,000 people facing hunger in Maricopa County, we at Dircks wanted to help prevent this from happening at our local race in Tempe. After a successful food rescue of more than 4,100 pounds at the 2017 Triathlon, Dircks hit the ground running this year and saved more than 5,500 pounds of food and beverages! All of the donations were delivered to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance and distributed to the community.

DIRCKS MOVES FOR HUNGER

Dircks and the puppies were back at this year’s Arizona Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Conference! We teamed up with Follow Your Heart Animal Rescue once again to talk employee relocations and dog adoptions with a great network of Human Resources professionals. We are happy to report that all of the dogs that were at the conference this year have found homes!

From start to finish, the move process went very smooth. Michelle, our Move Coordinator at Dircks, was instrumental in making sure that we were taken care of during this move and did such a wonderful job of coordinating the move of our household belongings as well as one of our vehicles. The entire process was stress free and efficient because she worked hard to organize the move around our schedule. Top notch! Thank you, Michelle! The movers were also very professional and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. The packers and loaders did a fantastic job of taking care off all our belongings with respect, and they had us packed and loaded in no time at all. Brian and Tim from Dircks did a fantastic job unloading our belongings. They were very friendly and professional as well as organized and efficient in their work. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied with the move in. Thank you, Brian and Tim! I would definitely recommend this team in the future!
