IMMANUEL MOVIE DISCUSSION NIGHT Immanuel’s next Movie Discussion Night is 6 pm, Sat. 9/24 at the home of Suzanne Souder and Glenn Rill, 60 W 4th St in New Castle.  The film to watch before you come is "Easy A". In this comedic film, a clean-cut student tries to enhance her popularity with one little white lie.  Of course there are consequences, and she soon feels herself identifying with Hester Prynne from her current English assignment, "The Scarlet Letter".Please bring a dish to NEXT share and come ready to talk about the religious questions raised by the story and the values it highlights.

Cobblestones learned of Operation Christmas Child at Thanksgiving dinner last year. Discovering what a worthwhile opportunity this was to do something for children who have little or nothing, I felt this giving experience needed to be shared. Operation Christmas Child distributes ‘shoe boxes’ that you or your organization pack and send to Samaritan’s Purse to distribute around the world. Last year 8 million children received shoe boxes. Over 130 countries have received shoe boxes since 1993. Samaritan’s Purse is an international relief organization, headed by Franklin Graham, that provides immediate, no-red-tape response to the physical and spiritual needs of individuals in crisis situations.! Soybean Variety

ButterbeanSweet, buttery, and high yielding; Butterbeans are acclaimed as the finest in green vegetable soybeans. The 2-2 1/2' stocky plants are well-branched and stand well, producing a prolific set of large pods with tan pubescence. A good percentage of pods contain three large beans that are relatively easy to shell.

Soybeans were introduced to America in 1765 by Samuel Bowen, a sailor who had visited China. He grew soy near Savanna, Georgia, and even made soy sauce for sale to England. Soy took on a very important role in the United States after World War I. During the Great Depression, the drought-stricken ( Dust Bowl) regions of the United States were able to use soy to regenerate their soil because of its nitrogen-fixing properties. Farms were increasing production to meet with government demands, and Henry Ford was a great leader of the soybean industry. More @ Wikipedia
