Touring the West Shore of Lake Michigan

Yet another fantastic adventure courtesy of Michael and Diane Smith occurred this May. For those of you who participated in this event, this short write-up should help revive your stu-pendous memories that you had on the tour. For those of you who weren't able to go, I will try to summarize the drive as best I can.

The trek began in a Long Grove parking lot adjacent to a beautiful, old church. I was ac-companied by the infamous Mark Havemann and my mom. The beginning of the trip started with the dispute between my mom and I on who would sit in the cramped rear seat-- I eventually prevailed. The Smiths made every stop exciting with their now famous grab bag. This year's theme was "Being British", with gifts ranging from British flag ties to British flag aprons. We then drove to Cedarburg, where we had a picnic-style lunch in Cedarburg Park. The Ksiazeks, Kakuskas, and Durhams got into the right mood with an extravagant picnic lunch including: British flags, flowers, champagne and champagne glasses, and choco-late covered strawberries and other delicacies. My family and the Fatas decided to settle for fast food on paper plates...very classy. After lunch, we were free to walk around the quaint town of Cedarburg for a little bit. The stand out attractions were: The Pink Llama Gallery (too bad Mr. Cusick could not make it) and the very exciting and interactive Cedarburg Woolen Mill and Textile Museum, garnished with histo-ries of sheep and blankets hanging in a dark, moldy basement.

From there we hit the road again en route to Manitowoc, where we toured the Maritime Mu-

seum and the U.S.S. Cobia submarine. It was a very in-teresting place to visit, and for those of you who didn't attend this expedition, I highly recommend that you see this attraction. Finally, we were able to stretch our legs outside of our cramped kitties and check into the beau-tiful Lighthouse Inn. Later that night, we had dinner in a meeting room that the hotel reserved for us. The food was very good, the service was impeccable, and the view of the lake was magnificent.

After breakfast in the hotel restaurant the next morn-ing, we set off to view the Port Washington Lighthouse. I was especially impressed at the old time furniture and appliances from the 1850s, as well as the view from the top of the lighthouse. From the lighthouse, we traveled to Milwaukee, seeing some very beautiful houses along the way. We ate lunch at the very famous German res-taurant Mader's. After everyone indulged in the hearty German brunch, some of us continued on to the Harley Davidson motorcycle museum in downtown Milwau-kee. Our tour guide was very informative and kind to us, as we learned the history of Harley Davidson from its beginnings. At the end of the tour, we were able to sit on some Harleys, new and old alike.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Smith, thank you so much for stepping up to the plate once again and organizing this wonderful drive. For those of you who are wondering if you want to do the drive this fall or next year, I assure you that you will have a lot of fun. If you involve your-self in the club, you will enjoy yourselves. See you all on the next expedition.

Annual Jaguar Concours

We’ve been working our fool heads off getting ready for this year’s Jaguar Concours, ordering trophies, arranging the logistics. All we need to make it a genuine success is to have you and your Jaguar be there. Even if you have no interest in having your Jaguar judged in a competitive class, there is no excuse for not joining us; just bring your car and put it on display. It’ll give you the chance to meet fellow car nuts like yourself, discuss your latest project, and show off your pride and joy. If you have any automotive objects you find in-teresting - model cars, brochures, advertisements, automotive art, photographs or even unusual car parts – bring ‘em along; it’ll be fun for everyone to see. And why not consider staying at the Pheasant Run Resort for the weekend; we’ve negotiated a ter-rific rate and, let’s face it, you can have cocktails at the banquet way beyond the legal limit and not have to worry about driving home. You can also enjoy the resort’s other attributes: 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, health club, and live musical the-atre.

Jaguar Retail Operations has announced the re-instatement of the JCNA discount program to all North American Jaguar Dealers via Retail Operations Bulletin no: JSOB13-25. The biggest difference between the new program and the previous club discount program, is an increase in the discount from $750.00 to $1,000.00.

Jaguar Clubs of North America members receive a $1,000.00 customer cash offer upon verification of current membership. A customer PIN form will be given to the organization member by selling dealer. It asks for basic information and the JCNA member will be required to produce a current JCNA membership card. This form must be completed and kept in a deal jacket for audit purposes. The full amount of the Customer Cash must be applied to the purchase or paid directly to the customer. Outcycled dealer service loaners and ex vip vehicles are eligible for this program.

There are, however, certain vehicles that are ineligible. Special Edition and limited edition production models are not eligible (i.e. XKR-S, XKR-S convertible, XJL Ultimate)

Dealers that have questions should call the Retail Ops “800” number.
