5 TALLEST MOUNTAINS IN THE WORLD

PURPOSE

• To familiarize ourselves with Google Earth and demonstrate

those skills through the tasks that we complete.

1. MOUNT EVEREST

TASK:

• Using Google earth, make a path from the bottom to the very

top of the mountain that someone would use to climb it. Then

take a screenshot and upload it to a word document and print it

out.

2. MOUNT GODWIN AUSTEN

TASK:

• Please answer these questions on a word document:

• What is the range where this mountain is located called?

• Where in the world is this mountain located?

• How many miles is it from our school? (you may need to

input our location and the mountains location on Google

maps to find the answer to this)

3. MOUNT KANGCHENJUNGA

TASK:

• Using Google earth, please save the images that you feel best

capture the best features of the mountain, and create a collage

of them on a word document (You will need to adjust the view

settings on Google earth to be able to find the pictures).

4. MOUNT LHOSTE

TASK:

• Take the virtual tour of the mountain on Google Earth and

answer these questions on a word document:

• Did you feel that the tour did justice? Was it necessary to get

the full view of the mountain from different angles?

• Would you personally, use the tour to help you understand

locations better?

5. MOUNT MAKALU

TASK:

• Find the elevation, mountain range, and location of the

mountain. Then compare that to one of the other mountains on

this slide show and compare and contrast the two on a word

document.

Side Note: Once you are finished with all of these assignments,

please staple them all together and put them in the “turn in” box.
