RONCALLI COMMUNICATIONS 1806 ROLLINS DRIVE ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA 22307 March 24, 2015 To Whom It May Concern: I am pleased to recommend Jennifer Torgerson. Ms. Torgerson was a student in my “Analytical Philosophy” course at American University in 1995, where I am now an adjunct professorial lecturer in international studies. I was also on her thesis committee for her Master’s Degree at American University. I have known Jennifer as a student and colleague for twenty years. I have followed her teaching career with considerable interest. Ms. Torgerson earned top marks in class. She is a standout. In over 30 years of teaching, I would rank her among my hardest working students. Of the over 3,000 students I have taught in over 200 college courses, I would rank Ms. Torgerson in the top ten percent in analytical abilities, preparation, and thoughtful analysis. She communicates well in discussion. She seems to understand argument construction, use of evidence, and the power of examples. She is always well-informed, whether on current issues or historical background. She examines alternatives with care, but is also willing to make decisions on incomplete information, if necessary. She has humility toward scholarship. She has steadfast resolve. She is a natural leader in the classroom, extremely personable, very charming, and very enthusiastic. I should also add that Ms. Torgerson has been a strong, hard-working teacher. Her resume shows a total commitment to education. The number of courses taught is impressive, even staggering. In mid- career, she has taught more sections than most professors in a lifetime. I know that she is a scholar. She will continue to make a strong contribution to this country, adding much from her experience, hard work, and insight. If I may answer any questions, please feel free to call me at 703-660-9279 or contact me via email at [email protected] or at [email protected]. Sincerely, John Shosky President and Senior Writer

To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to recommend Jennifer Torgerson. Ms. Torgerson was a student in my “Analytical

Philosophy” course at American University in 1995, where I am now an adjunct professorial lecturer in

international studies. I was also on her thesis committee for her Master’s Degree at American

University. I have known Jennifer as a student and colleague for twenty years. I have followed her

teaching career with considerable interest.

Ms. Torgerson earned top marks in class. She is a standout. In over 30 years of teaching, I would rank

her among my hardest working students. Of the over 3,000 students I have taught in over 200 college

courses, I would rank Ms. Torgerson in the top ten percent in analytical abilities, preparation, and

thoughtful analysis. She communicates well in discussion. She seems to understand argument

construction, use of evidence, and the power of examples. She is always well-informed, whether on

current issues or historical background. She examines alternatives with care, but is also willing to

make decisions on incomplete information, if necessary. She has humility toward scholarship. She

has steadfast resolve. She is a natural leader in the classroom, extremely personable, very charming,

and very enthusiastic.

I should also add that Ms. Torgerson has been a strong, hard-working teacher. Her resume shows a

total commitment to education. The number of courses taught is impressive, even staggering. In mid-

career, she has taught more sections than most professors in a lifetime.

I know that she is a scholar. She will continue to make a strong contribution to this country, adding

much from her experience, hard work, and insight.

If I may answer any questions, please feel free to call me at 703-660-9279 or contact me via email at

[email protected] or at [email protected].

Sincerely,
