Constituent Case Work

• Peak high: over 135 open cases

• Now at 95

• Using “cloud” to coordinate efforts

• “MyNomi” constituent services app launching on November 10th!

• $120,000 for use in District 1

Protect and Serve$1 million for North Miami Police

• $4.4 million due from land sale at SoLe Mia

• 25 squad cars on the street for uniform patrol officers

• Last road patrol car purchase was in 2010

Arch Creek East Environmental Preserve

• 13 acre Environmental Preserve

• This year, my goal is to plant over 1,000 native species, including new shade trees

• Along creeks, plant and Coastal and Hammock habitats

• Continue removing exotic species and planting new mangrove shoots

• Future Planning Perspective – Planting of Seagrapes, Mangroves, Bald Cypress, etc. to mitigate impacts

• Existing legislation calls for 5 member committee

• $60,000 for funding from general budget.

• Existing pieces in Griffing Estates and at City Hall

• Potential locations everywhere! JWU, Library, Neighborhoods and Community Centers

$15 Per Hour Minimum Wage• Current Florida minimum wage is $8.05

an hour

• Pending bills in Florida’s State House and Senate propose to raise Florida’s minimum wage to $15 an hour.

• Some states and cities have moved to $15 an hour minimum wage such as San Francisco and Los Angeles and New York State.

• North Miami Parks employs 105 part time employees, over 60 year-round.

Honor Code• Initiated by the Dade Ethics Commission

and near adoption by Miami-Dade County

• All officials and employees would be obliged to follow an honor code of conduct requiring that they report criminal government misconduct to appropriate authorities when they know about it. It adds directives that employees monitor their workplaces for misconduct, place the public interest ahead of personal loyalties, and cooperate truthfully with investigations. Failure to abide by the code could result in disciplinary action.
