2 Minnesota Private Colleges Transfer Guide

Transfer students are important to Minnesota Private Colleges — in 2018, 2,600 students transferred to one of 17 Minnesota Private Colleges. Transfer students represent 22 percent of all new students on campus. And these transfer students represent a wide range of backgrounds. And 28 percent of new transfer students are students of color.

Minnesota Private Colleges are an important option for transfer students. Most of our students receive grants and scholarships making college more affordable. With so many great liberal arts colleges, how do you choose? What makes St. Olaf stand apart? We think it’s this: St. Olaf doesn’t produce ordinary college grads. It turns out Oles (Oh-Lees). Oles are the people that companies want, because they know how to get stuff done. They think harder, approach problems differently, persevere with enthusiasm. Oles are born of St. Olaf’s intense academic program — an academic program that hones minds, while its emphasis on global engagement helps broaden perspectives. Oles aren’t necessarily religious, but our religious tradition encourages deep self-reflection. Most important, perhaps, is the Ole community — a vibrant community that accepts, supports and encourages, generating lifelong friendships and invaluable business connections. Today more than ever, the world needs idealistic, tireless problem solvers. In other words, Oles.

For Undergraduate Options

Use the College Finder to search the most up-to-date information on more than 140 undergraduate majors at our campuses — along

with many minors and concentrations as well as several associate degree programs. Discover where you can pursue your academic

interests!

Add in sports and arts that interest you:

• varsity athletics programs (16, such as basketball, tennis and soccer)

• club sports (35, such as rugby, cycling and karate)

• fine arts offerings (40, such as symphony orchestras, gospel choirs and literary magazines)

With the College Finder, you can search for these activities on their own — or in combination with your search for an academic interest.

Looking for graduate, certificate or licensure programs? You can search for these areas, too.

And you can search all academic programs for evening/weekend offerings, as well as those offered online (entirely or in a blended

format).
