TRANSCRIPT
A WEEKEND OF HORRORTwisted Celluloid is a monthly film programme showcasing cult and horror movies at Triskel Christchurch Cinema. The event has been successfully running and growing in popularity for the last 18 months. So much so, that it has lead to the hosting of the inaugural Twisted Celluloid Film Festival from 21-24 February. This four day festival will have an exciting programme for horror fans featuring 15 exhilarating movies, and showcasing several Irish premieres.
The festival opens with the Irish premiere of MANIAC, starring Elijah Wood as a psychotic serial killer. His part in the film has been lauded as a bold move from his Lord of the Rings legacy. Other Irish premieres on the programme include BELA KISS: PROLOGUE starring Kristina Klebe from Halloween and the alphabetical arsenal of destruction that is THE ABCS OF DEATH.
The eagerly-anticipated THE LORDS OF SALEM, which is poised to hit the box office across the U.S. this Spring, will close the festival. The film, which is directed by cult filmmaker Rob Zombie, tells the story a 300 year old coven of witches posing as a rock band in an effort to invade Salem, Massachusetts.
There will also be a MARIO BAVA RETROSPECTIVE and this tribute to the great Italian director will feature three of his films: Black Sunday, A Bay Of Blood and Lisa And The Devil, all uncensored and digitally remastered.
