Scotlandrsquos first Sustainable Growth Agreement signed by Stirling business

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has signed Scotlandrsquos first Sustainable Growth Agreement today (Monday 20 March) at a launch event with Stirling-based manufacturer Superglass Insulation Limited

The agreement (SGA) signed by SEPA Chief Executive Terry ArsquoHearn and Superglass CEO Ken Munro is the first of its kind and centres on six commitments to proactively enhance the environmental performance of the company over the next four years

The commitments specifically target a reduction in water usage waste and CO2 emissions from the Superglass facility while continuing to seek the use of innovative technologies to increase the use of renewable energy sources - with support and assistance from SEPA The agreement promotes a strong emphasis on engagement with local groups to improve the economic social and environmental outcomes of the surrounding community

for Thames Archtectural and installed in Berkeley Homes Victory Pier luxury apartment development in Gillingham as well as for ambulance bay screen panels at University College Hospital in London

Both projects called for very high open area panels to meet ventilation requirements whilst retaining striking images and patterns

The Victory Pier panels feature seven different waterbirds along the car park frontage whilst the UCL installation was based on the architectrsquos lsquofunky treesrsquo concept

The PicPerfcopy system is proving highly effective where designers require a visually striking and unique installation and has been used for a number of prestigious projects including Debenhamrsquos flagship Oxford Street store for Dane Architectural and Kingstonrsquos Riverside development in Kingston upon Thames for Cadisch MDA

The Kingston Riverside panels were based on a scenic photograph and also a classic motion study by the Victorian photographer Eadweard Mybridge The Project Lions perforated panels amp embossed soffit panels were based on a classic French Lace pattern

Winn amp Coales Denso Steelcoat 100400 system was chosen by Hampshire Rigging Services of Romsey to protect the suspension of the footbridge at Thames Ditton Island Surrey

For this recently completed project the Denso Steelcoat was applied to a steel wire rope which is fitted to the four tower tops from which the footbridge is suspended The wire rope where the groove fits in is approximately 1 metre in length and 44mm diameter

Particular attention was given to the application of Denso Steelcoat on the four tower tops and the anchorage bars which had previously suffered from some corrosion

Following surface preparation the Denso Steelcoat system applied by Hampshire Rigging Services consisted of Hi-Tack Primer followed by Densyl Profiling Mastic for filling awkward profiles This was then followed by Hi-Tack Tape Ultraseal Tape and a Denso Acrylic top coat
