Dear All,

As the newly appointed Vice Chair (Youth) for Truro RFC it is with great

pleasure that I welcome you all to the Truro RFC 2017/18 season. Whether

you are a returning player or new to the club, I hope you will enjoy the season, which for the Youth Section starts on 3rd September.

I cannot let this opportunity pass without recording a massive thank you

to the outgoing Youth Vice Chair, Tim Brocklebank. It is testament to his

leadership that it has been a very calm and enjoyable year. Tim will continue in his role as Safeguarding Officer.

Our aim as the Youth Committee, will be to work with all the players and volunteers of the

Club to build further on the success and strengths of Truro RFC. For the 2017/18 season the Youth Section Committee roles are as follows.

We have kept the individual membership cost for 2017/18 to £90.00, the same as last season.

With no additional youth match fees and free match day entry to all senior home games for

the member and two parents, I hope that you will agree that this is good value. Additionally new players to rugby can come and try the game for three training weeks (no matches) to

see if they like it before paying. At the time of writing payment needs to be by cheque made

payable to Truro Rugby Club Mini Junior Section, although alternative payment methods

are being investigated for the future.

We are in the process of changing our O’Neills kit sales to an O’Neills online shop which should

make transactions simpler for both yourselves and the club kit master, Louise Edwards.

However we do have a remaining stock of O’Neils items and Louise will be putting these on sale at the start of the season. Further details on the existing stock sale, and new online kit

will be made available in due course.

The club has a very effective and amiable steward, Andrew (Frankie) Webb, who will be in

residence on Saturdays and Sundays. Frankie will be happy to help should you wish to enquire about use of and booking the Club’s facilities.

As you will probably know other than a few paid roles the club is run by volunteers. The

volunteers of the club do everything from treasurer to gardening, painting & decorating, project work etc. We would like to identify as many people who would be willing to volunteer

to help the club, and have enclosed a Volunteer Form for this purpose.

We are always looking for people, organisations and companies to sponsor both Youth Section Age Groups, and the whole club, and Sponsorship details are enclosed.

TRURO RFC 100 CLUB

Help raise funds for your club and a chance to win one of four cash prizes every

month!

The TRFC 100 Club is run to give members the chance of winning monthly cash

prizes for a modest monthly investment. The money raised is used for projects in

and around the club. The club committee decides how this money is spent.

We ask you pledge the sum of £4 per month by way of a Standing Order payable

on the 1st of each month. Once your first payment has been received you will be allocated your own personal number.

The first prize each month is £100, but twice a year – September and December –

this prize is increased to £300. Every month we also have a £50 prize and two £25

prizes.

The prize draw takes place on the 1st of each month.

Prize winners will be listed on the website www.trurorfc.co.uk

It’s easy to join: simply complete the Standing Order form below and return it to

I am also writing to invite you with an opportunity to sponsor Truro Rugby Football Club (TRFC) in the 2017/2018 season (and beyond). TRFC is a community based club founded in 1885. Since this time our purpose has been and continues to be the provision of rugby to all who wish to partake in it at the best level achievable. We currently have a First XV(Chiefs) and Second XV (Titans), along with a Touch Rugby Section. Our Youth Section (ages U7s – U18s) is one of the strongest in the county in terms of both membership levels and achievement with over 250 playing members all of whom are awarded family membership bringing with it benefits for the members family and an additional 500 associated members. The club which holds a prime location at the top of St Clements Hill in Truro is also used for other activities and community events and is currently the home of the Truro Running Club. A wholly amateur club we pride ourselves on enabling participation and development for all players. We also have great ambition and wish to promote rugby in the city of Truro to the highest affordable level and to build on the successes of 2016/17 As a community based club all monies which are raised are put back into the provision of rugby for those who wish to partake as such we have a number of sponsorship opportunities (see below) If you would like to sponsor your child’s age group, or the Youth Section in general, please speak initially to your child’s age group Manager.
