    Construction of 3,904 NGO backed out houses taken

    up by Government at a cost of Rs.93.80 crore

    A sum of Rs.152.15 crore was given to fishermen as an

    immediate relief measure for repair, reconstruction

    and restoration of vallams, catamarans, mechanized

    boats, FRP boats, nets etc.,

    Restoration of drinking water (power pump) to the

    tune of Rs.14.25 crore.

    Repairs and reconstruction of roads & bridges at a

    total cost of Rs.289.92 crore.

    Mata Amritanandamayi Math Tsunami Relief &

    Rehabilitation:

    The Amrita Tsunami Relief & Rehabilitation Project is a

    massive 100-crore rupee undertaking, covering a broad

    range of relief efforts in India and Sri Lanka.

    In truth, the value of the entire relief project is nearly 200

    crores, as so much of the work is being done by volunteers.

    In July 2005, the United Nations officially recognized the

    Mata Amritanandamayi Math as an NGO with Special

    Consulta-tive Status.

    37 fibre boats, 20 engines repaired

    88 bundles of net material distributed for repair of nets

    Group accident insurance with hospitalization benefit provided to 315 fishermen

    through United India Insurance Co. for Rs. 100,000 each
