What an exciting start to the term we are having.

Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who

attended Education Week. The students did an

amazing job displaying all their learning around

the classroom as they became Zoo Keepers. We

had a fantastic time visiting other rooms learning

about different career choices for when we get

older.

Please don’t forget, it is Book Week next week!

LOST PROPERTY Our lost property basket is overflowing with jumpers, Jackets, hats & lots more! If you have lost anything please come and have a look in our lost property basket in the front office!

Term 3 has been very exciting with the revamp of

the Library with lots of colour, a tee pee for

reading and some other very exciting things!

This space is where all the classes at Woodberry

are able to borrow books and become more

familiar with the library setting. We have not only

been reading but also learning about science

and drama. Drama has been a massive hit with

the students and it has been SO much fun being

able to have a big space to get creative and

enjoy ourselves.

We look forward to more surprises in the library

over the rest of term 3!

HUNTER DANCE FESTIVAL

On Tuesday 31st July, our wonderful dancers performed at Wests City at the 2018 Hunter Dance Festival. Although there was a long break between our rehearsal and the performance, the students were amazing and displayed all key values on the day. We look forward to performing again at next year’s big event.

PSSA BOYS TOUCH FOOTBALL On the 2nd August, 9 of our boys played Touch Football for Woodberry PS at Tarro. We played against Tarro Public School and won our game 5-1. It was a fantastic day and I am very proud of the boys and their efforts. We now go on to play in the next round of the competition. I will keep the boys posted. Thank you to Tara for transporting the team, we appreciate you. Good luck to our players!

100% ATTENDANCE PIZZA PARTY Last week we celebrated our students with 100% attendance in Term 2 by having a pizza party in the school garden. Well done to all the students, we hope to do it all celebrate with you again next term!

DEBATING Last Monday our Woodberry Wonders debating team travelled to Thornton Public School for the 4th round of the Premier's Debating Challenge. The topic for the debate was 'That all primary schools should have compulsory swimming lessons.' Woodberry Wonders lost the coin toss and were given the negative stance. Unfortunately we lost the debate in a very narrow finish. We look forward to our next debate against East Maitland PS in Week 6.

IMMUNISATION UPDATE REMINDER Last term some parent/carers received a letter asking for an updated immunisation record for their child. The school also needs to know if a child has never been immunised as this needs to be noted in the school records. Please note that if a child is not immunised or we do not have up to date immunisation records, they are to be excluded from school for two weeks after a case of an infectious disease is recorded. You can obtain your child’s immunisation history statement through Medicare or Medicare online, also your family doctor can print one for you.
