Jenis – jenis Kalimat

Bahasa Inggris memiliki dua bentuk kalimat yang digunakan untuk

menyatakan suatu pikiran. Kedua bentuk kalimat tersebut adalah kalimat aktif

dan kalimat pasif.

Kalimat aktif ( active voice )

Dalam kalimat aktif subject melakukan pekerjaan, atau melakukan suatu perbuatan. Dengan ciri khas bahwa kata kerja yang digunakan berawalan “me-“.

Dalam kalimat pasif , subject dalam kalimat tersebut tidak melakukan pekerjaan/perbuatan, melainkan dikenai pekerjaan/perbuatan. Dengan ciri khas bahwa kata kerja yang digunakan dalam kalimat tersebut berawalan “di-“.

Simple Past Tense

Simple past tense digunakan untuk menyatakan fakta-fakta atau

kejadian-kejadian yang terjadi di masa lampau atau masa lalu. Jika kita

membicarakan masa lampau, itu bisa beberapa menit yang lalu, sejam

yang lalu, 2 hari yang lalu, bulan lalu, tahun lalu dan sebagainya, yang

penting masa waktunya sudah lewat dan tidak ada hubungannya dengan

masa sekarang.
