Whatabusylastcoupleofweekswehavehadatschoolwithouramazing
teachers and families. Firstly, the Garden Day Celebration was exactly
that. A celebration of how wonderful our kitchen, garden and ethno

weedingandplantingoverthe lastfewyears isdefinitelypayingoff.No
longer a lantana filled creek bed, but a gorgeous rock and native plant
filled landscape for the children to share adventures in. The kitchen
garden filled our bellies with the delicious spinach and feta pastries.

Message From Lisa What an awesome term of learning, friendship and
community.
The highlight of this term formewas the authentic
andgenuinecommunicationIhadwithchildren,other
staff, and parents. Somany Thursdays I drove home
contemplatingconversationsandencounters Ihadat
school and thinking how fortunate Turntable is to
havesuchanurturingschool.
Good communication with teachers is so important
for children. Communicating well with students acts
tomodeleffectivecommunicationandconversational
skills, shows students we value their opinions and
judgements and teaches us so much about who
studentsareandalloftheamazingthingstheyknow.
Good communication between parents and teachers
is also important. Teachers learn so much from
parents about children and when parents
communicate effectively with teachers about family
life, can adapt and empathisewhen children need a
littlebitofextrasupport.Don’tmisstheopportunity
totalktoyourchildren’steacher ifyoucan.Andfeel
free to ask questions about your child at school.
Teachersseeyourchildinadifferentenvironmentto
home and have valuable insights to share. The
