Firstly, the Garden Day Celebration was exactly that. A celebration of how wonderful our kitchen, garden and ethno botanical gardens are. Thank you so much Nerelle and Ginger for working hard to create a rainforest wonderland in the EBT. All of the hard work, weeding and planting over the last few years is definitely paying off. No longer a lantana filled creek bed, but a gorgeous rock and native plant filled landscape for the children to share adventures in. The kitchen garden filled our bellies with the delicious spinach and feta pastries. Thank you to Ishta and Lisa for cooking the meal with the students. The salad that accompanied the meal almost stole the show. A massive thank you to AJ and Nicky who baked some delectable cakes. Thank you to all the parents who supported the day. It was such a big turn out with that great community feeling that we all do so well. On a night when I thought being next to the fire at home was the best place to be, I was hugely mistaken. What a beautiful evening our Winter Solstice Celebration was. Such a huge effort made by teachers and students’ who together created a magical evening of beautiful performances. The students singing took us all back in time to ancient spiritual rituals. Celebrations such as these were respected because of the powerful energies, capable of promoting regeneration, renewal and self reflection. Message From Lisa What an awesome term of learning, friendship and

community.

The highlight of this term formewas the authentic

andgenuinecommunicationIhadwithchildren,other

staff, and parents. Somany Thursdays I drove home

contemplatingconversationsandencounters Ihadat

school and thinking how fortunate Turntable is to

havesuchanurturingschool.

Good communication with teachers is so important

for children. Communicating well with students acts

tomodeleffectivecommunicationandconversational

skills, shows students we value their opinions and

judgements and teaches us so much about who

studentsareandalloftheamazingthingstheyknow.

Good communication between parents and teachers

is also important. Teachers learn so much from

parents about children and when parents

communicate effectively with teachers about family

life, can adapt and empathisewhen children need a

littlebitofextrasupport.Don’tmisstheopportunity

totalktoyourchildren’steacher ifyoucan.Andfeel

free to ask questions about your child at school.
