There is something magical about watching each precious piece of
Tuscany Olive Wood reveal its true nature under the hands of our
craftsmen. Some reveal a twisting, dark marbled graining, others
a lustrous, Tuscan sun-drenched blonde. No two pieces are ever
alike. The unique nature of this rare and most ancient of cultivated
woods offers you an unmatched opportunity to create a one of a
kind statement in your home.
Tree of Light, Tree of Legend
There is nothing quite like olive wood. A symbol of victory, strength and peace, the olive tree’s beauty
is referenced in countless ancient texts including the Bible (Hosea 14:6). The olive tree’s cultivation is said
to have begun more than 7,000 years ago. It is valued for its fruit and oil, but also for the unique attributes
of its wood. It is cherished as one of the hardest, and one of the densest and most durable of all woods.
Its superior resistance to damage from the abuse and moisture that threaten most common wood flooring
is well documented by testing. Due to the size of the trees and quality of the soil, Italy is the premiere
source of high quality olive wood for flooring, and the only source of olive wood we use.

Protected and Sustainably Harvested
Olive trees were sacred to many
cultures including that of the
ancient Romans. According
to some old texts the abuse of
some olive groves was strictly
punished. While olive trees may
no longer be sacred, the trees
used for Tuscany Olive Wood
flooring are no less protected.
Italian law allows harvesting
wood only when a tree is no
longer productive, and this can
often be done simply by pruning
the tree to stimulate new growth,
not by cutting it down. As a
result of this protection and
the olive tree’s extraordinary
longevity, almost every piece of
wood we use comes from a tree
that lived thtough some or all
of the Renaissance Age.

Featuring “the best performing scratch-resistant flooring finish on the market today.” Italian olive wood is naturally three times harder than oak, but we further protect your investment by coating the surface of each plank with a multi-layer finish customized for olive wood to ensure clarity of grain and color. Made by a German leader in innovative coating systems, our finish outperforms industry standards in tests designed to replicate real life sources of potential damage like high-heels, pet nails and heavy foot traffic. These tests include:
TEN times better performance – in rotational scratch tests – designed to simulate the twists and turns of heavy foot traffic
THREE times higher resistance – in mechanical scrub tests under ten pounds of pressure
TWO times higher resistance – in tests using a diamond-tipped needle
20% more resistance to impact – in precision weighted impact tests

50 Year Finish WarrantY This high-tech finish is one of the reasons we feel absolutely confident in guaranteeing Tuscany Olive Wood flooring for 50 years against wear. And now our confidence can be yours.
The only thing harder than olive wood
is the finish we use to protect it.
Olive wood is one of the hardest and densest of all woods, making it extremely resistant to typical sources of
household damage. Olive wood’s heroic performance is further enhanced by the manufacturing technology
we use to produce our flooring. Each plank of Tuscany Olive Wood flooring is 5/8 inches thick and
“engineered.” This means each plank is constructed with a thick, top layer or “lamella” of natural olive wood
on top of a premium hardwood core. This core consists of multiple layers “cross-grained” to each other.
The natural olive wood lamella on Tuscany Olive Wood flooring is three times thicker than most lamellas.
It is also “sawn” making it the most sought after type for both its appearance and strong performance
characteristics. Each plank is finally sealed with multiple coats of a high-tech, protective finish adapted
specifically to the unique characteristics of olive wood.
The end result is one durable floor – with maximum dimensional stability, highly resistant to wear and
moisture damage, including warping and buckling.
Keeping Your Tuscany Olive Wood Floor Beautiful
Tuscany Olive Wood flooring can last for generations with minimal care and maintenance. But you should
avoid the three things that can damage it. The first is prolonged exposure to water or other liquids and
chemicals. The second is dirt and grit that if left unswept can damage the surface over time. The third is
abuse from things such as heavy dropped objects, shoes with cleats, moving furniture and appliances. Please
see our Care and Warranty Guide for more details and a simple list of do’s and don’ts. It is available at
tuscanyolivewood.com.

Sunlight – Not a Problem
Many wood floors, like fabrics, change shade dramatically over time
with exposure to sunlight. Tuscany Olive Wood is not one of these and
will show virtually no change even when exposed to direct sunlight for
prolonged periods. If the possibility of even minor color change concerns
you, protect areas consistently exposed to strong sunlight with curtains,
blinds or UV resistant film.
Rest Easy with Our 50 Year Warranty
We are so confident in the quality and durability of Tuscany Olive Wood
flooring that we offer a Residential 50 Year Limited Warranty which
guarantees that:
The finish on the product will not wear through or separate from the
wood flooring beneath it
The flooring will be free from manufacturing defects
Tuscany Olive Wood also warrants to the original residential purchaser
for the life of the floor, that the flooring will not buckle, warp or
separate at the plies. This warranty applies only to flooring used under
normal household conditions and maintained and installed according
to our recommendations.
The same coverage is also offered for five years on light commercial
installations. Please see our complete Residential and Commercial warranties
at tuscanyolivewood.com for important details and restrictions.
