CLASSES FOR KIDS Babies & Toddlers Storytime Children ages 4 months –24 months with a grown-up This class combines child and caregiver play, action rhymes, songs, bubbles, and a book all designed to hold the attention of our youngest participants. Class time is approximately 20 minutes and is followed by a playtime. Reading Skills Program This small-group program will help your kindergartner or 1st grader practice reading skills. There is a maximum of 12 registrants per session. Third Tuesdays: Family Building Nights Kids love to build. It’s a fun activity but it also helps them develop lots of important skills including problem solving, math, science, self-expression, and creativity. On Third Tuesdays, we will feature our collection of building materials including Straws & Connects, Wooden Blocks, Lincoln Logs, Marble Run, and Magna Tiles. Time: Tuesday, 6:30pm-8:00pm Dates: March 19, April 16, and May 21 This is a drop-in activity and no registration is required.

Family Storytime Geared towards families with children aged 2-7 years old In this monthly evening class, families are invited to spend a fun evening sharing stories, songs, and games! Time: Thursdays, 7:00pm Dates: March 21, April 4, and May 9 Registration begins 3 weeks before each storytime (February 28, March 14, and April 18)

3D Printing Series For children in 4th—5th grades Curious about 3D modeling and printing? Come learn to use free, simple Tinkercad software to build your own 3D models! Design unique objects to print out at the library. Please bring a laptop and mouse if you have them. There is a maximum of 15 registrants for this series. Day 1: We will cover the basics of Tinkercad and look at examples of models you might build. Day 2: We will offer hands-on help with your 3D modeling projects. PAWS for Reading For children in Kindergarten-5th grades, accompanied by a caregiver Kids in Kindergarten-5th grades are invited to come into the library and read to dogs licensed through Therapy Dogs In-ternational. These dogs love to listen to stories read by boys and girls! Time: Thursdays, 5:30pm-6:30pm Dates: March 28, April 11, May 16 Registration begins three weeks before each session (March 7, March 21, and April 25)

Earth Day Maker Night for Families Celebrate Earth Day at the library! Enjoy an evening of building and creativity using recycled materials and other sup-plies. Guitar Show & Tell Geared towards families with children ages 4 and older You’re invited to a guitar showcase presented by the students and owner of Lyons Guitar & String Lesson Studio. Time: Saturday, 11:00am Date: March 2 Registration begins on Saturday, February 9

Animal Friends Visits the Library! Geared towards families with children ages 4 and older Families are invited to attend this presentation on dog safety presented by Animal Friends. TIME TO PLAY You’ll always find something to do at the children’s li-brary. Our Play-to-Learn and Explore-to-Learn spaces provide environments dedicated to play. It is through play that children engage and interact with the world around them. They develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain self-confidence to fully en-gage in new experiences. Equally important, play is a fun and cherished part of childhood. You’re invited to come whenever the library is open.

LIBRARY PLAYTIMES Playtimes are a special time for children to come togeth-er and play. This is a great way to meet other parents and caregivers in the area. Toys and books will be avail-able. These are drop-in morning activities. No registration is required. Babies & Toddlers Play Time For children from 4 months to 2 years and their caregiv-ers Time: Mondays, 10am-11:30am Dates: February 25, March 4, 11, 18, April 29, May 6, May 20, June 3, and 10.

Twos & Threes Play Time For children 2 to 3 1/2 years of age and their caregivers Time: Tuesdays, 10am-11:30am Dates: February 26, March 5, 12, 19, April 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4, and 11.

Adapted Storytime

Designed for children with differing abilities, their siblings, and caregivers, this program will feature interactive book and story expe-riences, rhymes, songs, and movement. We’ll follow with a time to explore two or three

hands-on experiences. Registration is limited to help cre-ate a safe, non-judgmental, accepting environment. This program is designed for developmental ages 2-6, but all ages are welcome. Time: Wednesdays, 10:00am Dates: May 8, 15, 22, and 29 Registration begins on Wednesday, April 17.

PLAY K at the Library For pre-K children who will be entering Kindergarten in Fall 2019 This program will work on skills that kids

need to be ready for Kindergarten. The classes will fea-ture picture books, sorting and classifying, calendar activ-ities, rhyming, and songs. There is a maximum of 15 participants per class. Time: Wednesdays or Thursdays, 10:00am Dates: May 1/2 through June 5/6 Registration begins on Wednesday, April 10.

Thailand Cultural Night presented by the Thai-USA Student Cultural Exchange Program Students in 3rd grade and up Enjoy an evening of Thai culture! Exchange students from the Thai Program at Upper

St. Clair High School will be offering a presentation of Thai culture—music, art, games, and more! Time & Date: Wednesday, May 1, 6:30pm Registration begins on Wednesday, April 17.
